Chapter 276: Chapter 384: Nine Years in a Hurry (Part 2)
With Gunnar's body issue resolved, the next matter at hand was Asagami Fujino.
The solution was simple—introducing Asagami Fujino to Aozaki Touko.
Chihiro recalled that Asagami Fujino was a student at Reien Girls' Academy, so finding her was just a matter of asking around.
When he did find her, she was being harassed by a gangster. Chihiro intervened, driving the man away, and that was how the two of them met.
It seemed Asagami Fujino had already been targeted.
A few months later, in early 1998, that same gangster, believing Asagami Fujino to be an easy target, gathered a group of delinquent dropouts. Together, they kidnapped Asagami Fujino, imprisoning her and subjecting her to prolonged abuse.
During this time, Asagami Fujino was already suffering from appendicitis. However, because she was unable to feel pain, she hadn't realized it, allowing her condition to worsen significantly.
Though Asagami Fujino's condition would have been troublesome for ordinary people, for Chihiro, it was trivial.
A single bottle of healing potion was enough to cure all ailments.
With that, Asagami Fujino's Distortion Mystic Eyes were completely restored.
Taking this as an opportunity, Chihiro successfully introduced Asagami Fujino to Touko.
Intrigued by Asagami Fujino's Distortion Mystic Eyes, Touko decided to take her in, offering her a position at Garan no Dou.
With Asagami Fujino's situation settled, Chihiro could finally leave without worry.
However, just before his departure, something unexpected occurred.
Touko's younger sister, Aoko, arrived at Garan no Dou.
Needless to say, the relationship between the sisters was as turbulent as ever. The moment they saw each other, they immediately began bickering and taunting one another.
For a moment, Chihiro even worried that a fight might break out.
Aoko soon revealed her reason for coming.
She had been passing through and originally intended to check in on her sister before leaving.
However, while doing so, she sensed Chihiro's magical energy and grew concerned.
Aoko wasn't comfortable with an unknown magus being around her sister, so she chose to appear and confront the situation directly.
Chihiro had no interest in getting involved in the Aozaki sisters' feud, so he quickly bid farewell, leaving with Artoria, Gray, and Gunnar to return home.
Upon returning , Chihiro resumed his usual lifestyle—a mix of practicing Magecraft, conducting research, and teaching Gray and Gunnar.
With all of this, life was anything but boring.
Artoria, too, enjoyed such peaceful days. Occasionally, she would take on the role of instructor, teaching the two girls spearmanship.
July 1998 – The Third Q&A Begins
Time flew by, and soon, it was early July 1998—the start of the third round of the Q&A session.
That's right—over the past nine years, the Q&A sessions had already been held twice before, and this was the third installment.
And the topic this time?
Naturally, it was about "Kara no Kyoukai" and also "Tsukihime."
Two of Type-Moon's major IPs were being introduced simultaneously.
This time, Chihiro took a backseat, choosing to spend most of his time as a spectator.
Due to the existence of the Q&A group, Araya Souren acted ahead of schedule, resulting in the events involving Ryougi Shiki, Fujou Kirie, Shirazumi Lio, and Enjou Tomoe unfolding earlier than expected.
By the end of it all:
Araya Souren and Shirazumi Lio were both slain by Ryougi Shiki.
Tomoe, after learning his true nature, chose to end his own life.
Fujou Kirie, however, was able to return to a normal life.
Meanwhile, over in the "Tsukihime" world, things took an unexpected turn.
After witnessing the Tsukihime storyline through the Q&A group, Michael Roa Valdamjong changed his plans.
However, Arcueid Brunestud, having made a deal with Chihiro, secretly brought Ryougi Shiki into the Tsukihime world and set up a trap.
With two wielders of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception working together, Roa was instantly annihilated.
With the conclusion of this Q&A session, new members joined the group.
From Kara no Kyoukai:
Ryougi Shiki
Kokutou Mikiya
Kokutou Azaka
Asagami Fujino
Aozaki Touko
Aozaki Aoko
From Tsukihime:
Arcueid Brunestud
Tohno Shiki
Ciel
Tohno Akiha
Yumizuka Satsuki
Sion Eltnam Atlasia
Rizo-Waal Strout
This session gave the group members a glimpse into a different side of the magical world.
They were introduced to concepts like:
The Rainbow-class Mystic Eyes of Death Perception,
The Twenty-Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors,
The Holy Church's Burial Agency.
Even Kayneth, a Lord of the Clock Tower, was encountering some of these things for the first time.
After all, in the Fate world, the True Ancestors had long since been wiped out.
Most shocking of all.
Upon learning that Zelretch from the Tsukihime world had become a Dead Apostle, even Tokiomi and Kayneth were left speechless.
After all, that was Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg!
He had been ambushed and turned into a Dead Apostle?!
On the other hand, the so-called Demon King (whom everyone except the Chihiro believed to be Solomon) remained indifferent to his former apprentice.
Instead, his interest was focused entirely on Arcueid Brunestud.
After all, she was the original.
Two years after the end of this Q&A session, in the year 2000, the fourth round of Q&A began.
This session was of great significance, as it revealed the story of the Moon Cell Holy Grail War.
The events of Fate/EXTRA, Fate/EXTRA CCC, Fate/EXTELLA LINK, and Fate/EXTRA Last Encore were all laid bare.
The Moon Cell Holy Grail War was incredibly complex, filled with scientific concepts that made everyone's head spin.
A simple Holy Grail War escalating to the point of nearly destroying the world, it was pure madness.
At the same time, there were also lighthearted extras like Please! Einzbern Consultation Room.
When Lancelot saw the claim that he had feelings for the king, he nearly fell into despair.
"Slander! This is pure slander!"
"I have nothing but respect for the King! I have never entertained such filthy thoughts!"
And so, Lancelot suffered complete social death.
For over a year after that, Lancelot didn't say a single word in the group.
Of course, he wasn't the only one who met such a fate.
When a certain blond-haired Rin appeared, Tokiomi was left completely stunned.
After learning that Rin from that world was actually an abandoned illegitimate child, Tokiomi was officially branded a "scumbag father." Even the Rin of this world started looking at him strangely.
And, of course, there was also Gilgamesh.
Seeing how his counterpart in that world spent 90% of his treasury to save Hakuno.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
"I, the proud and ancient king, have no one else in my heart except Enkidu!"
---
It felt as though, excluding the Apocrypha world, this Moon Cell war had dragged in characters from every other universe.
Alongside them were AI Servants such as Archer, Kiara Sesshouin, Karl der Große, Attila the Wanderer, and BB, making everything even more overwhelming.
Especially when it was revealed that in this world, Matou Sakura, Kotomine Kirei, and even Fujimura Taiga were all AI constructs, the confusion only deepened.
By the end of this Q&A session, the new permanent members who remained in the group were:
Fujimura Taiga, Hakuno, Blond Rin, Ginako, Nero, No Name, Tamamo-no-Mae, Lu Bu, Francis Drake, Robin Hood, Nursery Rhyme, Hans Christian Andersen, Vlad III, Cu Chulainn, Young Li Shuwen, Gawain, Elizabeth Báthory, Suzuka Gozen, The Awakened One, BB, Passionlip, Meltryllis, Violet, Kingprotea, Charlemagne, Scáthach, Arjuna, Medusa, Archimedes, and Attila.
As for Kiara Sessyoin, just like in the original story, she was defeated by Hakuno and disappeared.
In short, the group chat had become more chaotic than ever.
Karna and Arjuna, eternal rivals, would engage in heated debates from time to time. Though they clearly preferred fighting, the Q&A group prevented them from actually going at it.
Meanwhile, Gawain, still holding a grudge against Lancelot for killing Gareth, and Mordred for killing Artoria, remained furious at both of them. He frequently scolded them whenever he had the chance.
Then, there was BB, the mischievous little devil, who constantly schemed to stir up trouble, even attempting to analyze the Q&A group's structure. Of course, all of her efforts ended in failure.
However, there were some exceptions.
Due to Scáthach's presence in the group, Cu Chulainn had noticeably toned down his usual antics.
After that, nothing major happened, until today.
...Time shifts back to the present…
"Brother, come write the Spring Festival couplets!"
"Coming!"
Chihiro and his companions were busy decorating the house, filling it with bright and festive ornaments.
After all, today was New Year's Eve, and there was plenty to do.
Cleaning the house, putting up Spring Festival couplets, preparing the New Year's Eve feast—the list of tasks was endless.
Chihiro also had to feed the "little ones" from the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
Over the years, the collection of mythical beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas had expanded significantly, now including more than a dozen different species. And that was after strict restraint.
If left unchecked, the number would have easily reached into the hundreds.
Once all the preparations were complete, it was finally Chihiro's turn to cook.
At this point, he had become a jack of all trades, dabbling in a little bit of everything, except coding.
When the delicious dishes were served, Artoria couldn't help but drool.
Though she possessed a Gourmet Tablecloth, she rarely used it except when necessary.
After all, the joy of eating good food lay in the experience itself.
Once New Year's Eve was over, they would be heading to Fuyuki.
The reason?
The Fifth Holy Grail War was about to begin.
They needed to meet with Emiya Kiritsugu to discuss how to put an end to the Holy Grail War once and for all.
But that was something to worry about later.
For now, they would simply enjoy the festival.
(To be continued.)
T/N: What a mess sigh.
