Chapter 30: Chapter 30

" Come on, we gotta go ! "

" Ahh!!! "

" Holy fuck look out !

Trees cracking and tumbling down.

" We can't look for him! We gotta go! "

" He's either dead or he left the island! …. Island…. Island…. island…"

" Kay… Kay? ….. Kaylee?! " a familiar voice shouted at her, as Kaylee was zoned out laying on her bed spread in her apartment.

"Huh? What?" She remarked, as she quickly shifted her head and gaze towards Justin who was sitting inside her bedroom with her in the chair.

It had been three days since the island tornado had struck, and practically three days she hadn't seen Ivaander. The entire group had made it out alive that day, with minor injuries.

Though, the hard part was wrapping their heads around it all, at least for Kaylee. She didn't nor could comprehend how it could've all went south so quickly. It couldn't have had anything to do with her and Ivaander could it?

Kaylee continued to ponder in her bed, as she ended up zoning out again, completely neglecting Justin's presence as well. The male noticing that Kaylee seemed off and distracted a lot.

"….. Yo! Bro, I swear ever since we got back, you've been acting real weird lately Kay." Justin stated, as he smacked his lips a bit.

Kaylee motioned her head over towards him again, and blinked a few times. Slowly she started to get up from her bed, but continued to sit on the bed spread.

"Huh?…. Oh…. I — sorry, I'm just….."

"Worried about him?" Justin asked quickly, his tone coming off a bit annoyed in a way.

"... Is that so wrong?" Kaylee replied, coming back in the same manner.

"Damn Kay." Justin said as he slammed down a magazine as Kaylee watched him confused a bit and threw her arms up a bit.

"What!?" She shouted.

"I mean hell! The man ain't been here for four days and you can't take your fucking mind off of him! If that nigga really gave a fuck about you, don't you think he'd be here?" Justin argued.

"..... You don't know him." Kaylee tried to point out.

"…. Tsk… right, and you do?!" Justin proclaimed.

Kaylee looked down.

Justin, noticing Kaylee's dismissive expression, sighed through his nostrils and slowly placed his hands against his hips. Shaking his head briefly, before running his hand against his face.

"Look… I'm just saying, that I mean— come on Kaylee, I'm trying… " Justin told her softly.

Kaylee continued to keep her head down, however she was still listening to Justin somewhat. Justin looked at Kaylee a bit conflicted but still trying to comfort her.

"I mean it's like I'm right here trying to support you and all you can think about is…."

Kaylee looked up before Justin stated his name, as the two made eye contact with one another. Kaylee having a distant and blank expression, as Justin said nothing.

The two seemed to have a standoff moment, before someone knocked against Kaylee's bedroom door. The sound made Kaylee blink, as she softly told the individual to enter.

"Hey." Mark remarked, as he entered Kaylee's room as Justin continued to stand up before glancing over at a cold gaze from Kaylee.

The male at that point decided to leave the room as he walked past Mark and headed for the living room instead. Mark, somewhat a bit puzzled, watched before turning around and looking at Kaylee.

"What's wrong with him?" Mark questioned, as Kaylee said nothing and looked back down at one of her pillows.

Mark could sense something was wrong with Kaylee, as her energy seemed off and she also seemed very standoffish. Mark slowly walked over towards the edge of her bed where she was and looked down at her.

"... You wanna talk about it?" He would question in a calm tone.

Kaylee glanced up at him for a moment, before she would look away and then slowly rotate herself to the other side of the bed. Trying to block Mark from being so close towards her personal space.

".... Look, Kay, we tried everything we could to look for you and Ivaander, but we didn't know where you guys were... maybe, Ivaander took a speed boat home and he made it safely ...."

Kaylee hearing Mark's words almost sounds hysterical in a way, as she already knew Ivaander was alive. It was hard keeping a secret from her friend group that she knew the truth about Ivaander.

The only issue was, she didn't know if he was a demon, or something more. Although, to her surprise Kay didn't seem to care what his species was, she was more concerned about not seeing him and being so far away from him.

It had been four days since the last time she saw him, smelled him, touched him, and even was near him. She loved the smell of his scent, the way he walked, and hearing his soothing charming voice.

It was always like a siren calling out to her, and it was a trance that she couldn't break. Although, she never mind that feeling, because she desired to be near him.

Whenever she was away from him it always felt like she lost a part of herself, a hole inside her heart and stomach that could never be filled. It was a vast void that held nothing but despair, anguish, and coldness.

She wondered every single day where he was, what he was doing, was he alive, did he make it home safe, was he in danger, was he thinking about her, or did he find someone else.

Kaylee couldn't comprehend why she was always thinking about him, but whenever her fingertips touched her lips, her eyes would close and she could see him. She was always picturing that kiss between them.

She would remember his warm lips pressed against hers, and his rough and passionate aggression for her body. How his hands wandered around her soft silky skin, and it made her have chills.

It made her breath shake with a tremble, whenever she thought about it, which made her other hand grasp her sheet tightly. Her hand gently rubbing her lips, trying to remember his taste, and touch.

She couldn't get her mind off of Ivaander, and the more she tried to not think about him, the harder it became. Kaylee was even becoming irritated knowing she wasn't around him.

Mark continued to try and help Kaylee, as he was talking the entire time. Though Kaylee heard none of what he had said, she simply responded with empty words.

"Yeah… okay."

"Yeah? Okay?" Mark replied back.

Kaylee shifted her orbs over towards him, before she watched him shrug his shoulders a bit.

"That's it? That's all you have to say?" He questioned.

Kaylee glances at him briefly before tossing her pillow to the side and getting out of her bed. Mark watched her carefully as he tossed his hands in the air in a confused expression.

"What? Where are you going now?" Mark asked her.

Kaylee put her shoes on quickly before grabbing a jacket and walking out her room as she put the jacket on.

"Out." She would vaguely say.

"What? Out?! What do you mean?! Hello?" Mark said following her down the hallway, as she ran into Justin, and Tiffany on the couch.

"Hey, what the hell is going on?" Tiffany exclaimed as she watched Kaylee head for the front door.

"I don't know! Kaylee's talking about leaving!" Mark exclaimed back as Justin arched a brow.

"Leaving? Leaving where."

Kaylee sighed a bit as she watched her friends argue a bit over where she was headed.

"Yeah, where are you going?" Tiffany chimed in to ask.

"What the hell is this some damn intervention?….." Kaylee said sarcastically.

"What I can't leave my own fucking apartment?"

"I mean, yeah but where are you going, you—" Tiffany was trying to say before Justin jumped in.

"You just got back from a nightmare fucking trip, and you wanna go out? It's like 10pm at night…." Justin leaped in to speak.

"Yeah, at least let one of us come with you, it's not safe outside right now. Plus I heard it was supposed to be cold tonight." Mark added.

Kaylee shrugged her shoulders as she took her house keys and looked at everyone.

"Yeah, I — no. I don't need anyone coming with me, I wanna be alone okay? I just need to get some damn air, I'll be back later." Kaylee quickly stated before unlocking the front door and heading out.

The group was stunned as they watched and heard Kaylee speak as she slammed the door behind her. Tiffany looked at the boys, as she arched her brow a bit.

"What the hell has gotten into her?"

Kaylee left the apartment complex and proceeded to walk down the street for a while. Taking a stroll around the area, as she looked up at the calm sky. It was weird not seeing it cloudy like it had been for a few days.

She tried to take her made off it all, and all the fucked up shit that's been happening to her lately. It seems like every time something goes wrong, Ivaander seems to be there for it.

Kay also couldn't wrap her mind around him being inhuman. It was as if this experience was out of a movie, and she was inside some horror film.

She didn't want to believe this all to be true, but the more she thought about Ivaander, the more a smile started to creep against her lips. Slowly stopping on the sidewalk, she slowly formed a grin, remembering their kiss.

In all her years she never met a man she wanted to kiss more badly than him. She also was never someone to make a move on a male before either.

Therefore, Ivaander was her first, and she couldn't help but feel confident in that. She also didn't feel bad for doing it either, as she for a long time deep down wanted to kiss him.

After walking for awhile, Kaylee had reached the end of the sidewalk. Looking up and seeing the dark long roads ahead of her. She saw nothing and no one around, and it was giving her an uneasy feeling.

She still felt traumatized from that uber driver she had that night. Which made her uneasy about being alone walking around, not to mention rides in general.

Eventually, she noticed something in the distance, as headlights were visible. Her heart immediately started to beat faster, as she watched the car speed directly past her and continue to drive down the way.

Kaylee immediately exhaled, as she continued to try and remind herself not everyone was trying to kidnap and rape her. Though, she knew every time a car passed by, she was assuming the worst of it.

Gradually, Kaylee started to turn around and head back, as there weren't a lot of close places around the apartment. She would need to drive if she had plans on actually going somewhere.

With no car and no real money to spend, she decided it would be best to head back to the apartment. That was until she heard a sound from afar.

The woman quickly turned around and looked where the sound had come from. Kaylee's mind started to race, as she took a few steps back from the area.

This time she didn't bother to speak or say a word, as her footsteps proceeded to walk away in the direction back to her apartment. Every now and then she would turn and glance back at where the sound came from.

She saw nothing, as she turned around one last time and walked faster away from the end of the street. Trying to keep her mind clear, she continued to walk until she turned around once again, only to find someone was behind her.

Immediately she screamed and fell to the ground, as the person put their hood down. Kaylee orbs widened, noticing who the individual was.

".....Sapphire?" Kaylee quickly stated as she was on the ground.

Sapphire kept her orbs on Kaylee, as she extended her hand for Kaylee to grab. Kaylee takes the invitation to stand back up, as Sapphire shimmering red orbs fixed on Kaylee.

"…Come with me." Sapphire remarked.

"What? Where?" Kaylee questioned as she looked puzzled and surprised. Not knowing how exactly Sapphire even found her, but also how she got here.

"Do you wanna see him… or not?" Sapphire remarked knowing precisely what Kaylee was already thinking about.

Kaylee, hearing Sapphire's words, felt relief and sharp pain all at once. She didn't know why she would say it that way, but she knew who she was referring to.

Without a single word Kaylee composed herself and nodded towards Sapphire, who turned around and motioned with her head for Kaylee to follow her.

Kaylee without question did so, as the two walked down the street and down the narrow road that was one way. Sapphire eventually took Kaylee to an isolated spot, before Kaylee became a bit frightened.

"...So… are we just gonna wait for—" Kaylee would softly try and ask before Sapphire quickly gripped Kaylee's wrist, and superspeeded away with Kaylee in a flash.
