Faith System: The Imperfect Idol!

Pov: Main Character

Is this what the afterlife looks like? It's so cold, and isolated. My mind hurt just staring at the darkness.

I want to look away but where do I look away if it's everywhere?

The sky is pitch black, the ground is nonexistent, the temperature is extremely cold, and my surrounding is all void and empty.

I am definitely dead, but instead of going to Heaven or Hell. I'm trap in this void like world, I don't know how long I been here, it felt like several weeks had passed already.

My memories are still intact, but its starting to get blurry as time goes on.

I am Marius Oliverson, it's nice meeting you—whoever you are.

I am 20 years old and had just started working at the bakery shop...no wait..I think I worked at the cafe shop...or is it the cake shop?

Sigh...

My memories are becoming unreliable. At this point I be a vegetable with no memories and thought.

Being a mindless being, just the thought–send shiver throughout my mind.

All I could do now is wait and reminisce about my life. If I had a body, I would had freeze to death with how cold this place is. It's fortunate that I was only a soul at the moment.

I guess being dead has it benefits. But the way I died by a big tree—irritate me.

Out of all the places and location. That fucking lighting just had to struck the biggest tree near me. Crushing me alive and leaving me to bleed to death.

It was painful. Worst then any pain I had felt, the feeling of lying there helplessly as my vision become blurry, would cause anyone to go mad in pain.

If I were to reincarnate, I promise to God. I will stay far away from any tree, that's taller and bigger then me.

If the sky turn dark, and lighting start to vaporise the land.

I'll hide under the safety of my home or any building nearest to me.

I will never see the Tree and Thunder, the same way as I had before.

Well there's no point in saying this, reincarnation is impossible—no matter how much I want it to be real.

But even if it's real...How could I hope to be reincarnated with all my memories intact? I have no value, and I'm average in appearance.

I had few friends that are quite entertaining to be around, but they started to avoid me for a month straight and then I died by that big tree.

Why did they avoided me? Were we even friends to begin with?

There's no point in answering these meaningless question.

I am already Dead...

Huh?

In front of me was a warm and faint light, seemingly far away and unreachable.

It's beautiful and warm, like the sun, fortunately I did not have eyes so the light did not hurt me at all, atleast the extremely cold temperature is replace by the warm temperature that light had brought.

I look behind me, there wasn't anything but the eerie and headache inducing darkness. I look back in front of me, where the warm and gentle light pierce my very soul. It was so beautiful, so majestic, and so alluring.

I made my choice, rather then staying here for Eternity, I go to that far away light, even if I never reach it.

With that in mind, I move forward....

I don't know if I'm moving forward or not, and it didn't help that the light in the distance is still the same size.

Do I need to imagine that I'm moving?

It's worth a shot...

I focused my mind and thought of moving forward, by imagining my body to walk towards the light.

Suddenly, I felt the force of gravity pushing me forward, sending me at unimaginable speed, just like one of those roller coaster ride but a Trillion times faster.

wait Wait WAIT! STOOOOP!!!!!!

I screamed out in my mind. The closer I got the more hotter it become, and it burnt my soul as if it was on fire.

But no matter how much I screamed and imagine myself stopping, it didn't work.

I could only stare helplessly as the blue light swallowed my sight and the burning pain becoming harder to endure.

Friday, 20 December 2021, 5:24 PM.

Somewhere on a alternate earth. Inside a restaurant.

A girl name Lyra Richard was enjoying her time with her parents.

Lyra has long white hair and beautiful blue eyes, she wore a casual white dress with dark blue line. Her face convey a gentle and charming look but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes.

It was rare for Lyra to spent time with her family. Due to all the training she had to do as a trainee Idol.

One could imagine the hardship she endure, the criticism, the hates, and the stress of being perfect in front of everyone.

The stress continue to accumulate when her Idol Studio or something, had placed high expectations for her.

They hype the audience and even other nation, saying that Lyra is the most perfect Idol the world had see.

They said that once Lyra debuted, the whole world would be charmed by her beauty and performance. Making the audience and most that wasn't interested, be hyped and impatient for Lyra debuts.

All the hype and enthusiasm the studio had given to the public, come crashing down when she debuted.

Just because she didn't meet their unrealistic expectations.

In the end she failed to be The Perfect Idol.

She wasn't good enough, wasn't charming enough, and wasn't performing enough.

Her singing, her dance, and the music she created was not enough...

She's been ridicule, Insulted, and criticised. Until the studio fired her because they found a more suitable candidate, she couldn't perform as The Perfect Idol anymore nor could she be a Idol in any Studio.

She had tried to reach out to other studio but they all rejected her.

Lyra didn't have a choice but to live with her parents once more and try to find another job.

She is nothing more then a failed Idol...The Imperfect Idol to the whole world, which everyone recognised.

Lyra hated the nickname, she was as perfect as she could be, she tried her best and given her all in perfecting her performance.

Yet...

Her dream of being a Idol were crushed...and due to her reputation, all the studio didn't want to do anything with her.

Her eyebrow raised in surpise at the blue panel in front of her, she even thought, she was hallucinating.

But the grasp and shocked voice from her mother and father, had made her realise that this wasn't an hallucination.

"Oh my god! Honey what is this?" Lyra mother spoke, pointing at the screen in front of her.

"I don't know." Lyra father shook his head, just as confused as Lyra mother.

*BOOOOM!*

"ROOAAARRRRR!!" The deafening roar of a monster echoed throughout the street, reaching the ears of the three family inside the restaurant.

*Shatter!*

Before anyone could react, the glass shattered into a thousand pieces, harming those who were too close. Many people screamed in horror, panic, and pain.

"Lyra!" Lyra mother shouted, she hurriedly move towards Lyra, wanting to protect her.

Lyra father followed her action. With that all three of them were close together, like a family.

The monster that roared seem to have notice the commotion inside the restaurant.

The civilian scream in panic and terror when they realise the giant monster had turn its attention towards them.

*BAM!*

Within a second the giant monster crashed into the restaurant wall, breaking it like it was made of legos.

The massive monster had three head, four arms and four legs, it look like a horse with a human body but with three heads and four arms. And each of the arm held a weapon, one is a sword, the other a shield, and the next a spear, and finally a big hammer.

Lyra stare at the massive monster with trembling gazes, she had never seen such a terrifying Beast, and yet here it is standing before her.

The three headed horsemen raised its giant hammer towards the nearest human group, which is Lyra and her family, about to flatten them together with its big hammer.

"!!!" Lyra father froze in horror, and Lyra mother wasn't doing well either, with her body completely frozen like a statue.

Only Lyra was able to move her body. Her experience of being a trainee Idol had come in handy when handling high amount of stress, or is it quick decision making?

"No!" Lyra shouted, the adrenaline inside her activated, pushing her body to its absolute limit, giving her peak human strength for a limited time.

Lyra swiftly pushed away her parents, using all her strength in that split second, just before the hammer struck her body.

"!!!" Lyra parents were in dismay as they watched the hammer come crushing down on their daughter's body.

*BAMM!*

Blood scattered everywhere, crack form on the concrete floor, and the civilian scream of terror echoed throughout the restaurant.

Lyra mother dropped to her knees, her eyes retracted and tears swelling under her eyes.

Lyra father clenched his fist, his body tremble violently as if a volcano within him had erupted, he glare at the three headed horseman with fiery flame inside his eyes.

The three headed horseman slowly retracted their hammer, and on the cracked floor was Lyra corpse.

Her head was gone, and blood poured down from her headless body, the sight was cruel and vomit inducing.

"LYRAAA!" Lyra mother shouted in anguish, her cries were heard outside the restaurant, fortunately no monster were near enough to hear her pain.

The three headed horsemen grinned sadisticly, it began to slowly move towards Lyra parents, each heavy steps were enough to shake the entire restaurant.

The three headed horsemen step were slow and deliberate as if tormenting the two in front of it.

*Crumble*

The ground shook violently, making the three headed horsemen raised a eyebrow, they felt a strange mysterious energy behind them, it paused and turned around towards Lyra corpse where the mysterious energy was coming from.

*BURST!*

Something burst out of Lyra body, creating a powerful shockwaves, knocking everything and everyone away from her, including the three headed horsemen and her own parents.

*BOOM!*

The three headed horsemen crashed into the wall, making a massive hole in the process but that didn't matter to them.

Each of its head stared in front of them with shock, concern and fear within their eyes respectively.

*Shine*

Lyra stood at the center of the spider-web crack, her body glowed in a blue ethereal aura, Lyra previous headless body had regenerated a new head, but the most shocking thing was the beautiful white wings that sprouted behind her back, piercing through the clothes she was wearing.

Lyra stared at the three headed horsemen in front of her, her mouth were open as she said something, "Where the heck am I!?"

Unfortunately the three headed horsemen couldn't hear what she had said.

But the 'glare' Lyra give to the three headed horsemen made it shiver in fear at her gazes, It felt like death itself were staring directly at its soul.

Lyra beautiful and gentle blue eyes had now turn to a cold and eerie crimson eyes, her charming and warm expression were now expressionless and pale, the blue aura she emitted were ethereal and filled with the feeling of death itself.

Just these three reason were enough for the three headed horsemen to retreat, so without wasting a breathe the three headed horsemen turned around and bolted with its tailed behind its legs.

It did not look back nor slowed down, once it decided to retreat.

*Wooosh*

Lyra tilted her head, with a puzzled expression on her face, "Eh? it got scared?" Lyra exclaim, it was barely audible.

[Ding!]

"...." Lyra stayed silent, her face barely showing a hint of emotion.

But internally, she was trying to make sense of everything before her. One moment everything was blue and the next thing she was here.

"I been transmigrated with a system..." Lyra muttered in a monotone voice, before a eerie grin found its way on her face.

The many panel in front of her, and the reward it promised, had made her excited. Forget about the pain she felt, just the fact she transmigrated was worth all the burning pain she felt in her soul.
