Chapter 119- Olea's hestitaion
'Th-this?!' Seated in the lotus position and channeling the Qi within her body, Olea found the threshold of each layer breaking with each moment.
Though she was guiding the Qi, it would have been impossible without the help of the princess.
As she sat, there was a huge amount of warmth scattering out of her dantian, leading to a vulnerable situation where her body was trying to find balance, yet finally achieved what had seemed impossible to attain in such a short amount of time.
Her eyes snapped open, feeling the aura around her body increasing with the resonance through the Qi within her dantian, clearly making the surrounding internal energy pulsate even more, clearly signaling that she had just entered the early seventh layer.
The jump of two layers in itself was far beyond what was normally attainable.
Given that she was considered a prodigy in terms of bloodline and physique, she also knew how much dedication she had to put into her training to reach her current level.
Yet, just now, within a few moments, she had surpassed all the time of hard work she would have put in to reach each layer, skipping two levels.
With each passing layer, the overall saturation of the Qi within the muscles increases.
The purity of the Qi becomes denser, leading to a large amount of energy surrounding her whole body, and her inherent abilities became far stronger, prompting her to look towards her palm.
She clenched it, a flicker in her eyes turning between her palm and the back of the young man who stood at a distance while having a conversation with Mialthara.
'He just made me skip 2 layers—' But before Olea could think further, as she looked towards the fluttering black hair of the young man, suddenly a voice like a hushed whisper came from behind her, directly through the telepathic message.
// Now, you must be thinking of using him, don't you? // Aleriana slowly retracted her hand as she stood, looking down at Olea, clearly sensing how this situation must have been too alluring for her, considering this was exactly what Olea wanted due to her desperation.
Most likely, after seeing such ability in Kyle, her emotion of hatred for Arcutus family's heir would transition into something else.
It may appear like a newfound love, but it was simply greed from anyone who receives something of value in a transaction based on a relationship. In this case, the declaration of marriage from Kyle was proof of the relationship he took initiative for, and his gift was too alluring for anyone, especially Olea, who needed power to begin with.
//.....I-I // Olea seemed unable to complete her sentence, as she slowly stood, glancing towards Kyle for a fleeting moment.
She realized indeed there was that feeling of wanting him just because he was able to boost her strength, a greed born from the desperation of her revenge, which soon turned into guilt as she lowered her gaze, one hand sluggishly holding the other's elbow, her expression lost.
"Are you both alright?" Kyle asked, looking towards both of the women who seemed to have done well in coordination while achieving a level of strength that was far earlier than in the original story.
Given the trend of what had happened with the Exorcism Sect, he realized that the more he accelerated their power levels, the more butterfly effects were going to alter the plot.
He recalled how at this present level, when Olea attended, she had tried to infiltrate the Arcturus family just as Aleriana had done with the Exorcism Sect in haste.
This time, having learned from his earlier mistake of ignoring Aleriana's arrival in the Exorcism Sect, he was going to stop Olea from being reckless and entering the Arcturus family.
Layers in this world definitely meant a lot to give an idea about someone's overall strength, but it was also possible for someone possessing so much strength to go against hundreds of well-trained soldiers, just as Aleriana had done by barging into the Exorcism Sect and risking her life.
After all, 400 years of Qi reserves are the same for everyone.
Though it depends on how much they have gathered to reach the threshold, the utilization being far superior in the higher layers, the reserves of Qi remain the same across all levels.
It's the same as a supercomputer and a normal computer working on the same limited data; while the supercomputer is fast and much more efficient, the data is still limited, and the amount of innovations made on that dataset is also limited.
Thus, the overall level of layers, while appearing to be early seventh layer, doesn't mean one can eradicate or massacre dozens of sixth-layered individuals easily.
Here, Aleriana and Olea were just ignoring this fact and had barged into a place where many individuals with trained fighting prowess were present.
Fortunately, the present members of the exorcism sect were not the ones with significant strength; otherwise, the results would have been devastating.
"Um, yes, I will take my leave then, Young Master Kyle," Olea seemed to be in a daze, as the gifts she received were too enormous, making it confusing since she did not want to appear greedy to him, especially because how alluring it was to gain so much strength without any effort.
Her posture was sluggish, eyes downcast, hands wrapped in a lowered demeanor, hardly composed, while she was already thinking that with this newfound strength, she might be able to get more information from that place she visited last time.
Given that she seemed to awaken the ability of shadow dimension, she felt confident enough to roam around the Arcutus estate more freely.
She tried to turn, knowing there was nothing she could do except as per what Aleriana had said to her, which was definitely true. She might act desperate and somewhat foolish here.
But she had made up her mind to avoid meeting Kyle again.
"Huh?" Her body flinched the moment a hand grabbed her wrist, stopping her as she turned to meet the gaze of black pupils with crimson and golden streaks within them, looking at her intently as if angered yet dissatisfied with her behavior.
"What the hell with 'young master'? Call me husband, Olea," Kyle raised an eyebrow, ignoring the surprise within Aleriana's eyes, who stood behind Olea.
Even Olea seemed to stand in a trance while glancing between him and his hand, which he didn't care about at that moment, knowing what might be going through the minds of these two.
"I-I..." Olea seemed to struggle, adding that she did not consent to the marriage, but how could she express that given it would make her appear very bad, considering how graciously she received this gift?
Her thoughts hurt her as she tried to voice them but stopped mid-sentence.
"Hah, just take a nap, Olea. Don't go to the Arcutus family as you might have planned. I will tell you what your parents told me tomorrow morning," Kyle said, noting the downcast gaze of Olea, with her demeanor completely appearing guilty, which he thought was understandable given he had given her what these cultivators considered the biggest present—power.
However, in truth, he had intentionally given her this power simply to make her think twice before rejecting the idea of marriage.
This was definitely having a different effect on her, as she seemed guilty and regretful.
However, she could not do anything; after all, he knew she was desperate for revenge and would not prioritize love—so it was better to approach her feelings from guilt to love in her case.
