“Senpai, it’s morning. Please wake up and stop ignoring your alarm.”
I wake up to a cute voice and a gentle shake.
In front of me is Kaede, wearing pajamas and looking at me with a troubled expression.
“Huh? Kaede is here?”
“Of course I am. We’re going to the guild together, right? Please wake up.”
Prompted by her words, I grab my smartphone from the bedside table to check the time.
It’s just past 7 a.m.
“7 o’clock, huh… I’m sleepy. The futon is so comfy.”
“I totally get that feeling.”
Kaede nods in agreement.
“Want to sleep together? It’s warm.”
“Please dispel the futon’s magic. You are a witch, after all.”
Elenora can’t use magic, but well, I should get up.
In the past, waking up at this hour made me want to die.
But now it’s not so bad.
More importantly, I’m happy that Kaede went out of her way to wake me up. It means she wants to go together.
“Ah, I’ll get up.”
I sit up and move the futon aside.
“Good morning.”
As I sit up on the bed, Kaede leans her elbows on it and looks up at me with her hands on her cheeks.
“Good morning. Kaede, you look cute today too.”
I pat her head as I greet her.

“Yep.”
Kaede in her usual stylish look is cute, but she’s also cute now, with her bouncy hair tips.
“Then, I also have to accomplish my daily mission!”
“You already did with that pajama look.”
“Cute.”

I remember she used to wear brighter and more revealing clothes during college.

So, she’s grown up.

“I like clothes in shades of white.”
“I know. Also, long skirts. You surprisingly have a better reaction to them.”
True, I prefer long skirts over short ones.

The one she had when we first went out for drinks.
“Yes, yes. Let’s go with that today. Now, please wash your face while I get ready.”

I get up from the bed, go to the dressing area, and wash my face.

But this coldness seems to have chased away my sleepiness.
I wipe my face with a towel and head to the living room.
The table in front of the kitchen is already set with rice, salmon, and miso soup.
“It’s Japanese-style today, huh?”
I sit down and ask Kaede, who brings over some milk. She drinks milk every day.
“We had pizza yesterday, after all. Now, enjoy this breakfast I made with all my heart.”
“As expected of Kaede. Let’s eat.”
We begin eating our breakfast of frozen and instant foods.
“We’re collecting Fluffy Grass in the Coonar Ruins today, right?”
Kaede confirms while eating.
“Yeah. We’ll use the Appraisal Glasses to find Fluffy Grass and level up by defeating about 100 skeletons.”
“Ah, right. 100 skeletons for a D-rank.”
We had promised before to rank up to D by defeating about 100 skeletons.
“That’s the plan for today. Well, we’ve got the whole day, so we’ll take it easy.”
We can’t fight all day. I vowed not to overwork when I became an adventurer. Well, we do have healing potions, so we won’t get tired.
“Understood. Please come back around 5 p.m.”
“Got it.”
We finish eating, and I drink coffee that Kaede brewed from Nanapon’s gift.
“Coffee in the morning, huh? But this is pretty expensive. Nanaka sure is extravagant.”
She shouldn’t be splurging like this.
“She’s dutiful in strange ways.”
“She’s a serious girl.”
I can’t agree with that. Serious kids don’t cheat.
When we finish our coffee, Kaede starts clearing the dishes.
“Kaede probably takes a while to get ready, so I’ll do the dishes.”
Men just need to put on clothes, so it’s quick.
“Oh! Senpai, you’re so kind!”

“You’ll be a super-dandy when you earn billions.”
I think so too. Money is power. Should I buy a dishwasher with this power?
“Well, just leave the dishes to me.”
“Alright, thank you!”
Kaede leaves the living room, so I take the dishes to the kitchen and start washing them. It’s just for two, so it’s quick.
Once I’m done, I return to my room to change. After changing, I wait in the living room for Kaede.
“I kept you waiting!”
After a while, Kaede arrives, ready to go.
She’s dressed as I requested, in a white sweater and a long skirt. Her hair is also fluffy, making her look incredibly cute.
“Daily mission accomplished.”
“Heh, this is nothing.”
Kaede strikes a model pose, but unlike a cool model, she just looks like a kid trying too hard.
“Shall we go?”
“Yes! Senpai, you’ll be out all day, right? Please eat this at lunch.”
Kaede heads to the kitchen and hands me a lunchbox.
“Oh! A loving wife’s bento!”
“Yes, it’s a love-filled pizza.”
It’s yesterday’s leftovers…
“Well, it’s fine. Thank you.”
I put the lunchbox in my bag, which serves as my item pouch, and sling it over my shoulder.
“You’re welcome. Let’s go.”
Kaede replies, slips her hand through my arm, and we start walking arm in arm.
“Are we going like this?”
“No, just to the front door. This is for yesterday’s hug.”
Only to the front door? That’s short.
“Alright, it’s bring-your-girlfriend-to-work day.”
“…Well, you’re right, but it feels off.”
Honestly, the guild staff will probably think we’re a stupid couple for coming together.
