Volume 1 Chapter 59 - A (idiot) class
“I thought it was a Hide Skeleton, but it turned out to be a person.”
Oops.
Teehee.
“Y-you!”
The man is furious.
“Hmm? Was he a friend of yours?”
The fallen man is wearing the same black suit and sunglasses as the other man.
“I’ll kill her!”
The man holding Nanapon raises his knife to slit her throat.
“Well, you can’t blame me, can you? If you’re going to be invisible in a place where Hide Skeletons appear, anyone would think you’re a monster.”
Can’t be helped.
“Damn it! How did you know?”
“He’s clumsy. It’s fine to move silently, but doing it out here is stupid. The sand on the ground was moving unnaturally. He must be an amateur.”
At least move behind me.
“Tch! I told him not to rely too much on skills!”
Well, that’s true.
I should be careful too.
I only have two skills after all.
“So, what were we talking about?”
“Tch! Drop your sword and Item Bag on the ground.”
“I wonder…”
I skillfully twirl my sword.
“I’ll kill your apprentice.”
“That would be scary. She’s my precious apprentice. Please, don’t lay a hand on her.”
I repeat the line Nanapon once called me a demon for saying.
“Then drop your sword and Item Bag.”
“Can’t be helped, then…”
I put my sword on the ground and also set down the bag slung over my shoulder.
“Step back five paces.”
“Five steps? Isn’t that a margin of error?”
I could easily leap to grab my sword.
“Damn monster! Step back ten paces!”
Doing as told, I step back ten paces while facing forward.
“Is this okay? I might have some magic, you know?”
Well, I don’t.
“Put both hands behind your head.”
I do as told, placing both hands behind my head.
“Is this okay? Now release my apprentice.”
“No. We don’t know what you might do.”
“It’s quite impressive that you think you can mess with a wicked witch like me and get away with it.”
I’ll eat you up!
“Shut up!”
“You’re scaring me.”
“Damn it! Tell me where the Item Bag came from!”
He’s persistent.
“Just buy one.”
“If we take you back to our country, we can get it for free.”
So, they plan to kidnap me…
“What if I told you I really don’t know anything?”
“That’s impossible. You definitely know something. Tell me, or I’ll really kill your apprentice!”
“Stop it.”
Nanapon looks pitiful.
“I’ll give you ten seconds.”
“I don’t even need ten seconds.”
“Then speak!”
“I won’t.”
I’ve already said it, you know.
“Huh? Don’t mess around! Hey, kill that girl!”
“Who’s going to kill her?”
I laugh and look at Nanapon.
“Huh?”
Following my gaze, the man looks back at Nanapon, who was behind him.
“—What!?”
The man is shocked to see that the man who had been holding Nanapon is down, and in his place, a blonde woman is supporting Nanapon.
“I won’t kill her. I’m afraid of a witch’s retaliation, and I want an Item Bag.”
The one who saved Nanapon is Claire. Using her unique skill, Perception Inhibition, she had silently moved behind the men.
“Cl-Claire Walker!? So you are connected to America! Damn it, this is the end!”
The man shouts, pulls out a knife, and runs toward me.
“If you won’t fall into our hands, then die, witch!”
The man charges at me with his knife, but I keep my hands behind my head and wait.
“You better stop.”
“Shut up! Die!”
As the man steps over the sword and Item Bag I had placed on the ground, I remove my hands from behind my head. Then, I thrust my right hand into the hood of my robe.
“I’ll give you a healing potion later. Go to sleep.”
“Die, witch!”
The man enters my range.
I draw a katana from inside my hood and swing it down toward the man’s shoulder.
“What!? Damn!”
Surprised by the katana I pulled out, the man tries to block my swing with his knife.
“Fool!”
My swung-down katana slices through the man’s knife like butter and continues on to his shoulder.
“—Gah!”
The man collapses on the spot.
“Didn’t think you could block it, huh? What do you think, Harry?”
I look to my empty right side.
“Tch! So you did notice.”
Harry appears from my empty right side.
“Of course. But thanks. You protected me, right?”
“Sort of. I didn’t get a chance to do anything, so I’m sad.”
“But you’re a bad girl. You didn’t tell Claire that her Perception Inhibition could also be used on others… hehe.”
I laugh as I look at the blood on my katana.
“You’re scary… Well, you didn’t ask, so… And I wouldn’t have told you anyway.”
Of course.
“Don’t you have something to wipe it with? My expensive katana is getting dirty.”
It cost me 500,000 yen.
“Nope. Wash it with a potion.”
“Guess I’ll do that…”
I take a Level 1 potion from my hood and pour it on the katana. The blood is easily washed away.
This is something I discovered through my experiments. If you do laundry or wash dishes with a potion, the dirt comes off very easily.
“What a waste.”
“It’s your fault.”
I say that and put the katana back in my hood.
“What’s that? Some kind of hidden blade?”
“Hehe, it’s a secret. Just think of it as a witch’s magic.”
The real answer is that I’ve made the hood into an Item Bag. I was happy to have created a cool hidden blade, but it means I can’t wear the hood anymore. Well, it served its purpose.
I walk over to where I had placed my sword and Item Bag, put the sword in my bag, and sling the bag over my shoulder.
“Are these guys still alive?”
Harry asks.
“They’re alive. I avoided any vital spots.”
If I wanted to kill them, I would have either decapitated them or cut them in half.
“But they’re barely hanging on.”
Well, they’ve lost a lot of blood, and they’ll die if left alone.
“Here.”
I take two Level 2 healing potions from my bag and hand them to Harry.
“What’s this? Level 2, huh…”
Well, someone like Harry would know.
“Two for 8 million yen. They might die, so why don’t you use them?”
I leave Harry with those words and go to where Nanapon is still gagged and bound. Claire is behind her, fumbling with something.
“What are you doing?”
I go over to the two of them and ask Claire.
“These guys are really amateurs. Look at this terrible knot. There’s no need to tie up a little girl like this!”
Apparently, Claire is trying to untie Nanapon, but she’s having a hard time.
“Step aside. I’ll untie her easily.”
I say that and take a sword from my Item Bag.
