Chapter 39: [39] The King Acknowledges, the King Permits, the King Bears the Weight of the Entire World!
The Bull of Heaven!
A colossal bull that towered between heaven and earth!
A single one of its hooves stood a hundred meters tall.
Its body radiated suffocating power, its destructive pressure even more terrifying than the previous Vile King Vortigern.
This was the mightiest divine beast in Sumerian mythology.
A terrifying instrument of divine punishment, capable of effortlessly annihilating all of Uruk!
Behind it gathered towering floods, while the sky roared with thunder and lightning—like an apocalyptic demon.
Upon its appearance, everyone gasped in awe—
-[Terrifying! One of its legs could feed an entire school for a year!]
-[Damn, a mountain-sized bull?]
-[This is scarier than the Tyrant King Vortigern!]
-[When I read the Epic of Gilgamesh, I didn't get why the King of Heroes and Enkidu had to team up—now I kneel!]
...
"Huh, what's Ishtar trying to do?"
Following the subtitles, Rin Tohsaka noticed a familiar figure beneath the mountain-sized Bull of Heaven.
It was the goddess Ishtar, who looked exactly like her.
After seeing her reflection every day, how could she not recognize it?
The Epic of Gilgamesh records:
The goddess confessed her love to the King of Heroes, but after being rejected, she flew into a rage and begged the god Anu to unleash the Bull of Heaven upon the mortal world, seeking to destroy Uruk.
The King of Heroes and Enkidu joined forces to slay it.
But in the King of the Oldest video, it was clear that the goddess had no interest in others—she merely collected humans like figurines.
Upon encountering the far more intriguing Nameless, she immediately demanded his confession.
Unfortunately, in Nameless's eyes, she was just a monkey—he much preferred her sister, Ereshkigal.
Rin Tohsaka's feelings were complicated.
That goddess looked exactly like her, yet was described like this—she'd never find a husband now!
The only consolation was that Ereshkigal, aside from her golden hair, also looked identical to her.
One was disliked, the other was loved?
Ishtar descended from the sky and addressed the three before her: "Nameless, Gilgamesh, Enkidu—you have thoroughly angered the gods. Surrender and confess your crimes!"
Her usually carefree expression was now deadly serious.
"To be born human is to fight for humanity. What crime is there in that?" Nameless replied calmly.
Beside him, the King of Heroes burst into laughter: "This king is the ruler of humanity, the mightiest king in the world! The gods are unworthy to punish me!"
Meanwhile, the divine weapon forged by the gods stood quietly by Nameless's side.
Earlier, it had been named Enkidu by the nameless one, who bestowed upon it human emotions and wisdom.
The other had taught it so much.
Freeing it from its former ignorance, finally giving it the sensation of being alive.
Transforming from a mere clay doll into a true human being!
Thus, this divine weapon now stood with them in defiance against the gods.
"Gilgamesh, as the Heavenly Wedge appointed by the gods to shepherd mankind, how dare you rebel against them!"
Ishtar sneered, "No god recognizes you. Instead, your arrogance will bring endless sin. If you kneel, everyone may yet live!"
Though here to pass judgment on humanity, her tone carried a hint of negotiation—strangely out of place.
Above them, countless deities radiating boundless majesty gazed coldly upon the humans below.
All ordinary people had prostrated themselves in pious supplication, not daring to raise their heads, begging for divine forgiveness.
"Hahaha, how laughable! The king acknowledges, the king permits, the king shall bear the weight of the entire world!"
Gilgamesh suddenly threw back his head in roaring laughter, staring up at the heavenly host: "A true king carries the lives of all upon his shoulders!"
"By what right do mere gods presume to judge this king?"
The most ancient King of Heroes, the most domineering and arrogant of monarchs, displayed his majesty to its fullest in this moment.
Not even divine punishment could make him bow his head!
-[The King of Heroes is eternal!]
-[This is soul-stirring—he actually dares challenge the gods!]
-[Win or lose, this battle will shine as humanity's brightest moment in history!]
-[Go, big brother who defies the gods!]
...
His unyielding arrogance before the divine host, the King of Heroes' indomitable spirit, conquered countless spectators.
His already explosive popularity soared to unprecedented heights.
Ishtar turned to leave: "I have nothing more to say."
After her departure, a verdict of utmost solemnity descended from the heavens—
[By the name of Anu, King of All Gods, we decree the punishment of the Bull of Heaven upon Uruk!]
Divine wrath descended with thunderous might!
Under this divine edict, the Bull of Heaven launched its attack.
Its enormous golden hooves came crashing down upon the earth.
[War Stomp!]
BOOM!
The ground split open with countless fissures, as if struck by a catastrophic earthquake, swallowing everything in its path.
Countless buildings collapsed as despair gripped all who witnessed this apocalyptic scene.
Facing the rampaging Bull of Heaven, the nameless one stepped forward first.
Projecting numerous Noble Phantasms, he stood firm against the Bull's charge—
[Rho Aias—The Seven Rings that Cover the Burning Heavens!]
Yet layer after layer of purple barriers were effortlessly shattered.
A spear gleaming with crimson light materialized in the nameless one's grasp.
Sprinting forward dozens of meters in an instant, he leapt high and hurled it with tremendous force—
[Gáe Bolg!]
The very same killing technique used by Cú Chulainn.
A weapon that reverses cause and effect—the terrifying power to make "the heart being pierced" the result before "the spear strikes" becomes the cause.
Once unleashed, it will always pierce the heart!
Whoosh!
The demonic spear let out a sharp whistle as it plunged straight into the heart of the Bull of Heaven.
Yet, it was too massive and powerful—even with the spear piercing its heart, it was merely like a mosquito bite!
But it was enough.
Its unstoppable forward momentum was halted head-on by Nameless.
Enkidu instantly unleashed their strongest attack.
Their petite figure charged toward the mountainous Bull of Heaven.
Countless golden chains surged alongside them, rushing toward the divine beast.
Enkidu's clear voice echoed across the heavens:
"Awaken the breath of the stars. I shall walk with humanity. Therefore—Enuma Elish!"
The countless golden chains coiled tightly around the Bull of Heaven.
The divine beast, infused with godly power, could not move an inch at this moment.
No matter how violently it roared, it could not break free.
"Hahaha, mere monster—perish before your king!"
Gilgamesh laughed wildly.
In his hand appeared a Noble Phantasm capable of severing and annihilating all things.
Infinite power radiated unrestrained as he unleashed the most terrifying attack in history upon this divine beast sent by the gods to destroy humanity.
"Let this king utterly obliterate this bull and grant humanity its freedom!"
Gilgamesh hovered midair and launched his ultimate strike.
"The Star of Creation that Split Heaven and Earth—Enuma Elish!"
A blinding beam of light blasted toward the Bull of Heaven.
Under this cataclysmic attack—
The mightiest divine beast, its heart pierced by the nameless one and its body tightly bound by the Chains of Heaven—had its head violently obliterated!
