Enemies Are All Nourishment for My Fungi

Chapter 380 A Small Encounter to Showcase Strength (4)

Ye Nai expertly turned the steering wheel, and the off-road vehicle moved from the side path into the small town, heading straight for the town center square.

Sunlight spilled over the shabby streets; the once-bustling shops were silent, with some signs even fallen to the ground.

In the center of the square, there used to be a large well shared by the entire town. Now, the wheel frame on the well was decayed, the rope was broken, and the water bucket lay on the ground. A frightened small animal darted out of the bucket, fleeing in panic, and the straw it carried spun in mid-air, gently landing on the ground.

With such a scene, even without wandering around the town, one could clearly see that it was already deserted.

"Vice Minister, do you want to take a lap around the town?" Ye Nai slightly tilted her head and asked.

"Let's take a lap and draw a plan. Think about how we might use this place," Fan Zeyang nodded slightly, gazing out the car window with a thoughtful look.

Ye Nai started the car again and drove a full circle inside and outside along the town's only main road.

During this process, they saw the small workshops behind the town, like the mill and wood factory. These small workshops were either collapsed or dilapidated.

After exiting the town, everyone didn't look further afield but headed straight back to the camp.

The car stopped as soon as it entered the gate, and everyone got out of the car. They then watched the cross-border Transmission Port slowly open, entering one by one, with Ye Nai putting away the car and following at the end.

Just as Ye Nai stood firm on the underground warehouse floor, the Transmission Port closed behind her and disappeared. The four who returned first were already back in their seats, waiting for her with varied expressions.

Ignoring the changing expressions of the people, Ye Nai slightly tidied her clothes, calmly walked to her seat, gently pulled out a chair, and sat down, sipping tea in small sips.

They had spent quite a bit of time during the visit, but upon checking the watch after returning, only a minute had passed, and the tea was still piping hot.

"Vice Minister Fan, how do you feel?" Ye Nai put down the teacup and looked calmly at Fan Zeyang.

"The feeling is very magical. I've been to the Secret Realm countless times and know it's a part of the Otherworld, but truly standing on the land of the Otherworld is a first," Fan Zeyang nodded slightly, a look of emotion on his face.

"So, is there anything else you'd like to ask?" Ye Nai placed her hands folded on the table.

"I see you have a computer. Is this to show us something?" Fan Zeyang's gaze fell on the computer beside Ye Nai, a very noticeable large desk computer with a built-in power supply and three large screens.

"Oh, that's for further content," Ye Nai slightly raised her chin.

"Regarding which aspect?" Fan Zeyang pursued.

"About whether you want to hold a New Year's celebration in the Otherworld at the end of this year?" Ye Nai's mouth lifted in a small arc.

"A New Year's celebration in the Otherworld at the end of the year? Is what you told Commander Chen true?" Fan Zeyang was full of surprise.

"Of course it's true, but there's a prerequisite question," Ye Nai's expression turned a bit more serious.

"What question?" Fan Zeyang and others' attention was tightly drawn.

"Do you want to include that planet in our territory and make it a new part of our map?" Ye Nai's voice was not loud, yet it was like a massive stone thrown into calm waters, causing a great uproar.

"...Ah?!" Everyone was in shock.

Ye Nai, however, said nothing more. She turned her seat towards the computer screen, lightly shook the mouse, and the three computer screens, previously in sleep mode and black, lit up, unlocking the desktop.

Next, a portable hard drive appeared out of thin air in her hand. She inserted the data line into the hard drive docking station connected to the computer and turned one of the screens toward the four opposite persons.

Her gaze fixed on the center screen began operating, switching the screen setting from extend to duplicate.

Thus, the three computer screens changed from being able to perform different operations separately to showing completely identical content.

She entered the portable hard drive and opened a video numbered 1 and titled an Overview of Various Countries' Status.

This was an edited collection from videos of various countries' current states, meant for a concentrated display. If made into a presentation, it would have hundreds or even thousands of pages.

There were over a hundred folders under this video, each named after a country or organization, adding up to so many.

The four looked at each other, with the same thought rising in their minds — they wanted that hard drive.

Ye Nai clicked on the video, the screen loaded, and played in full screen.

The video had no background music; it was originally clips from video diaries, only re-captioned.

The original content was written for her own view, some concise, others verbose, with many descriptive texts mainly to remind herself to prevent forgetting over time.

Now edited into a collection of clips, it displayed the conditions of the National Capital, important cities, and military camps of various countries in the Otherworld.

Just this simple display had Fan Zeyang and the others watching with growing excitement.

The video content showed deserted cities and empty military camps, paired with captions like "This is local time, year-month-date-place, and what happened," etc.

When the video progress bar was halfway, they had questions.

The city's scenes showed panicked locals in the streets, and nobles of all ages crammed together in luxurious palaces, but the military camp scenes were all empty.

"Ms. Ye Nai, were all these empty military camps cleared by you?" Fan Zeyang's brows slightly furrowed.

"Yes." Ye Nai answered concisely.

"And the cities?" Fan Zeyang continued to ask.

"The cities are already under control." Ye Nai spoke calmly.

"And those nobles?" Fan Zeyang's eyes were fixed on the screen, which had just shown a five-second clip of the nobles, filled with doubt and inquiry.

"They were all the former rulers in power," Ye Nai emphasized the "former" with a heavy tone.

"Did you just round them all up like that?" Fan Zeyang's voice slightly increased.

"Yes." Ye Nai nodded, her expression unchanged.

"What's their situation now?" Fan Zeyang looked serious and was eager to know the current status of those former rulers who were rounded up.

"Of course, they've been put away. Do you want them dead or alive?" Ye Nai's reply was an unexpected heavy blow.

"..."

Everyone was choked by her words, and after a while, they continued to ask.

"So, these former rulers are all alive?" Fan Zeyang's expression became grave.

"Yes, they're alive now, not that higher status means higher points; you verify them, and I'll then kill them." Ye Nai's tone was as flat as if she was talking about killing a few chickens or ducks.

"No, no, no, don't have such a murderous heart!"
