Chapter 319 Accomplices, Do You Want to Charter the Venue? (1)
"Shh, there are people in the hall."
Everyone immediately became quiet, their eyes fixed on the tightly shut doors of the building as they slowly pushed open from the inside.
Then they were surprised to see such a young big shot walking out.
Ye Nai raised an eyebrow when he saw them.
"Why are you still here?"
"Uh, we were just about to find a place to rest for a bit."
"Go to the back, there's more space there."
The team leader extended both hands, ready to shake hands, and strode towards Ye Nai.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Shi Lin, captain of the Smoke Formation Tactical Team, and these are my team members. How should we address you, big shot?"
Ye Nai casually lifted his hand to shake hers, and once they exerted pressure, they both immediately knew that the other was not to be trifled with.
"Ye Nai, solo."
"Solo?!" Shi Lin and her teammates were incredibly surprised, "No way, big shot, you're a solo? How can you be just a solo when you're so strong?"
"What's wrong with being a solo? It's not against the law."
"True, true, solos aren't against the law, it's just too surprising that such a strong solo is out there unnoticed."
"What you're saying... aren't there so many teams and individuals in the Hunter rankings, all of them solos? How many officially have titles?"
"That's also true."
Shi Lin quickly steered away from this unpleasant topic. They had just met; no need to have deep conversations with acquaintances.
When they returned, they'd thoroughly investigate this big shot named Ye Nai's power. Since the Hunter ranking was mentioned, he must be on the list.
Such a strong individual from the Space Department, Shi Lin drooled with desire, her gaze towards him brimming with interest.
Ye Nai knew she was still interested by looking at her gaze, but he had grown used to such looks over the past two years, given that everyone who had suggested he enlist had looked at him that way.
Of course, he didn't mind her looking at him like that, for he was doing the same to them now.
A ragged tactical team, did they want to eat, drink, or take a bath?
"How many are you in your team? Is there an injured person lying in the vehicle? You don't seem injured, but there are bloodstains on your clothes."
"Right, right, right, we have an injured person. We need to hurry and find a way back now, but it's regrettable we can't stay any longer."
"Which path did you come in from?"
Shi Lin, about to leave, stopped her footsteps and turned around.
"Hey, which path did you come in from?"
Ye Nai and she looked at each other silently for three seconds, then both let out a small laugh.
The path to the Otherworld, nobody had disclosed.
Shi Lin chuckled; now she really had to leave.
Ye Nai's gaze drifted and paused on one of the female team members, feedback from the spore indicating the woman's energy was quite rare and special, something he hadn't encountered before, unknown of what it was.
Just as Shi Lin said her goodbyes and turned to leave, Ye Nai's hand suddenly held a large bag with medical supplies.
"Does the injured need a blood transfusion?"
What Ye Nai had in his hand was a set of freeze-dried plasma and sterile liquid in a sealed package.
"Ah!"
"Plasma!"
The team members screamed with excitement.
Shi Lin lunged forward, hugging Ye Nai's hand tightly and grabbing the large bag.
"Big shot, save us!"
Even with Shi Lin lunging at him, Ye Nai stood firm, hands strong enough to support Shi Lin as she steadied herself.
The female team member from before, whom Ye Nai had secretly observed, rushed over.
"Excuse me, could you two let go of each other's hands? The injured can't wait."
"This is our team's Sanitation Officer."
Shi Lin hurriedly introduced her, and Ye Nai also let go of his hand, handing the plasma over to the Sanitation Officer.
The sanitation officer grabbed the plasma and rushed back to the vehicle, ready to give the injured personnel a blood transfusion first.
Ye Nai watched them bustling about, a smile playing on his lips as he addressed Shi Lin once more.
"Looking at the sorry state you're in, boss, do you need a meal, a bath, or a bed? Are you paying per use, or renting the whole place?"
"...Huh?"
Ye Nai's smile turned devilish.
Opposite them, on a large patch of grassland, a row of temporary prefabricated houses suddenly appeared.
Bathrooms, laundry shops, a makeshift operating room, mobile beds.
In front of the prefabricated houses stood rows of sinks, stoves, worktables, whole basins and boxes of meat and eggs, alongside two large racks filled with a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits.
"Ah!!!"
Ye Nai's equipment came out at just the right time; the cheers that erupted outside were as loud as a tidal wave, and this happened before the injured inside the vehicle even got their needles in.
The sanitation officer in the vehicle looked up and out, her gaze instantly glued to the makeshift operating room, and she bolted out of the vehicle.
"Boss, boss, boss, can we use the operating room?"
"Of course, you can use it; it's all disinfected, you'll find sheets and consumables in the cabinets inside, monitors for blood pressure and heart rate, and we've got X-ray and ultrasound machines."
The sanitation officer immediately called the team to help push the mobile bed over to transport the injured.
Two team members ran to the operating room and pushed the bed that was placed at the entrance over.
The remaining team members, unable to help, all looked eagerly at Shi Lin.
"Captain!"
"Captain, we haven't had fresh vegetables in days."
"Captain, I've been constipated for a week from eating nothing but dry rations."
"Captain, I've eaten so much freeze-dried vegetables, I'm turning into a dried person myself."
The logistics team member responsible for carrying the supplies dashed over to Shi Lin.
"Boss, how do we rent the place out?"
"What good stuff do you have?"
Shi Lin propped her elbow on a team member's arm, "Bring out the Heart Core."
The team member quickly took out a solid small storage box.
Though the sturdy box obscured the Heart Core inside, as soon as it was brought out, a rich and abundant energy spilled from it.
When Shi Lin opened the lid, Ye Nai glanced inside, and, as expected, it was indeed from the body of a locally killed mutant beast.
"How many days have you been here? You've killed so many local mutant beasts?"
"Have you been to that big city next door? Most of it's looted from those rich folks' homes. Later, when we were chased into the mountains, we killed a few local mutant beasts. The Heart Core yield is almost the same as in the Secret Realm, but the quality is truly good, worthy of its origin."
"No wonder that city had all its gates shut tight, with soldiers on the walls; it was your doing."
Ye Nai feigned ignorance with a clear understanding, his face all smiles, his tone light as he picked out a red Heart Core slightly larger than a broad bean from the box.
"This one piece will suffice."
Shi Lin didn't care which one he chose; her focus was on the previous sentence from Ye Nai.
"Did you say the city gates were under martial law?"
"Yeah, I climbed over the wall to get out. What about it? Is that your way back to the city?"
"Aren't you going back?" Shi Lin glanced at him sideways.
"Of course, I will, after I've looted this place."
"Then why don't we go back together?"
"Back to the city is okay, but we need to agree, where are you heading next?"
"Back to Blue Star; we have to get the injured to the hospital."
"That works for me; we're not on the same path."
"Where does the boss want to go?"
"Now that I'm here, of course, I plan to loot the Royal Capital; flatten the wheels, cut down everything taller than the wheels."
