Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Chapter 4 - First Kill

I was only 12 kg of wood and 75 kg of iron away from upgrading the elevator. The iron door and the iron food supply box I got earlier really helped a lot with the weight.

But now I had a problem to deal with – there was no more room left in the elevator for moving, and I needed space to fit 75 kg of iron.

So I had no choice but to dismantle two chairs and chop them into pieces to stack on the wood pile.

“Let me eat something first.”

I quickly finished off two or three chocolate bars. The high calories in chocolate immediately gave me a sense of fullness.

Then I went to the screen to check if the things I put up for sale were sold.

“As expected, sold out.”

I knew for sure someone would buy it, after all it was meat.

After clicking to collect the payment, a 5 kg weight appeared out of thin air, nearly smashing my feet as it landed in front of me.

“Damn, it just appears like this?”

I couldn’t help but take a step back after seeing the weight almost crushing my feet.

At the same time, the chat room was very lively, because two survivors had entered the same floor!

【Brothers, I can confirm this works. You can cooperate with others and enter their elevator. I’m in his elevator now with him, and we moved all my supplies over. We just need 20 kg more wood before the elevator can go up to Level 2.】

【Awesome! Hurry and upgrade to Level 2, let us see what changes happen to the elevator.】

【No problem, we’ll organize the supplies first, talk later.】

……..

Seeing the conversation in the chat room, I felt something was off. It wasn’t because I was pessimistic, but because I didn’t think things could be so simple. How could two strangers completely trust each other in this lawless situation?

But the others didn’t seem to sense anything wrong. After all, most still had moral integrity and wouldn’t think of killing someone.

“In any case, better be careful when running into other survivors in the future.”

I checked my gun. As long as I had this, I wasn’t afraid of anyone causing me trouble.

………….

In another elevator, a rather good-looking woman was pinned against the wall.

The man violating her was the one who just spoke in the group chat. This was no cooperation, but robbery.

After this man entered the floor, he happened to see the woman walking out of the elevator across from him. So he sinisterly knocked her out and threw her into his elevator.

Then he swept everything clean from her elevator.

“Please spare me…”

“Spare you? Haha, from now on obediently be my plaything. We have nothing to do in this elevator anyway.”

The man licked her neck, then…

(next 10,000 words omitted)

The afternoon passed quickly. The half bottle of water I collected from the creek earlier was also sold.

The price was 5 kg of iron again. I was now only 70 kg short.

“Hope the next floor will be full of iron.”

I said and then fell asleep on the chair.

………..

“Ding! The floor the host is about to enter is a recycling center. No danger, with lots of scrap metal, scrap paper and other recyclables.”

I immediately sat up upon hearing the system notification in my dream.

The next floor has no dangers?

And there’s lots of scrap metal?

Doesn’t that mean I can directly upgrade my elevator?

Lucky me.

“Ding dong! Elevator going up, please hold on.”

“Going up?”

I was confused. Hadn’t it always been going down?

Would going up take me back to a previous floor?

I had many questions but nowhere to find answers. The floor had arrived, so I opened the elevator door and walked out.

Looking up, it was indeed a mountain of scrap, fortunately categorized properly.

I found the metal section and there was truly a lot of scrap iron.

“Hahahaha, jackpot! So much iron! If I put this up for sale, I’d make a fortune!”

Just then, an abrupt voice rang out. I immediately tensed up and pulled out my gun.

Someone else was here!

But they hadn’t noticed me yet since the pile of scrap was blocking their view.

I now had two choices.

One was to kill and take everything. The other was to cooperate peacefully. After all there was plenty of scrap, too much for two people. But the situation now was that I had a gun and the absolute upper hand.

“Sorry bro, nothing personal.”

I disengaged the gun’s safety and crouched out. The guy was just humming a tune and about to carry some scrap back to his elevator.

“Don’t move!”

I aimed the gun at the youth with both hands.

“Fuck!”

“Bro, don’t, don’t shoot! We’re both survivors, right? Let’s cooperate?”

The youth reacted swiftly, immediately dropping the scrap and raising his hands to propose.

I couldn’t help a smile.

“Sure, but I need to see your sincerity. After all I have the gun, exploring floors will be safer.”

“No problem! I’ll move everything I have into your elevator!”

The youth then hurried back to his elevator.

As if I’d cooperate with you!

The youth grabbed a blade and hid it in his palm. Then he slowly walked towards me hugging a box, foolishly thinking he could ambush me and the gun would be his.

“Bro, don’t shoot, I’m bringing my stuff over!”

As he walked forward, he suddenly threw the box at me and slashed the blade at my neck.

My pupils contracted as I reacted swiftly and fired.

Bang!

The bullet precisely hit the man’s forehead.

His entire back of the head exploded like a watermelon.

Ugh!

Seeing the bloody scene, I couldn’t help but retch. This was completely different from facing zombies.

Soon the elevator floor was stained red with blood. After overcoming the discomfort, I walked into his elevator.
