Dying Light: Volatile Virus

After a moment of walking through the slums, you two continue, but in a sudden, you two encounter few Biters along a big one. The big one was known as a Tank, for it's high defense. The Tank was holding a makeshift maze, made of a metal pole, and in the top was rock.

Crane had an idea, and quickly went to do so, while you wondering what Crane was doing, remained where you were, beating up the Biters.

Crane's idea was to take the Tank's attention and take it to get away, but for both of you, few of Rais' gang appeared from behind, and they shot you from behind.

You tried to dodge their bullets, but that made you too focused, and not notice that the Tank turned around, and was going directly to you from behind.

Crane slowly tried to find a way out of this, he tried thinking the best way out of this situation, losing the less time possible, but then, he snapped out of his thoughts, and saw the Tank be barely behind of you now.

Crane: "Behind you!"

You turned to look, and barely without time, raised your hands. The Tank swinged the makeshift mace, and for your luck, was without lifting it from the ground, so you got able to block it by trying to grab it with both hands.

Slowly, the Tank was gaining terrain, so quickly, Crane started preparing something, as went down and started running towards you.

Crane: "When I tell you, run!"

You nodded, barely turning around to look at Crane. After a moment, he ran bypassing you from your right side, and is when he yelled to run. After hearing it, you dashed back, and turned around, running.

-"So... What's the plan?"

Crane: "An explosive, but has to be in a safe place."

-"Give it to me."

Crane looked at you and hesitated, but then gave you the explosive, and also a lighter. You turned around, starting the explosive, and once you got almost in front of the Tank, it tried to smash you with the makeshift mace, but dashed aside, and threw at it's mouth the explosive, reaching it to enter inside it's mouth. Quickly after, the explosive exploded, blowing up it's head, and pushing everything slightly back in the around, including you.

You took multiple steps back, but your arms covered you from the explosion. You moved down your arms, and turned to look at Crane.

Crane: "Are you alright?"

-"Yeah, my vest covered me."

But soon enough, you two heard the growls and yells in the near and far distance of Virals. The explosion called the attention of infecteds nearby and in some far away distance, and a big horde was on it's way towards you two.

Quickly, you two started to see multiple Virals running towards you two, so you started running, as slowly, more Virals started joining the horde. Their growls calling the attention of near Virals from where they were running through.

Slowly, you started to notice, Crane was more faster and by difference, as you see the difference between you in distance getting bigger and bigger. You were getting behind, but soon, you see Crane stop for a moment, and turn to the right.

When you reach to see why, you see a small group of Virals bypassing near in front of you, and luckily, they didn't notice you, and they all went towards Crane. Without any choice, you turned around, and saw the big horde or Virals coming directly at you. More of 20 Virals, and were going to be more and more, so you entered inside one of the houses, and after a moment, the horde went inside of it. It was now, when you faced the horde, and was going to be inside the house.

You don't know what Crane will do, but you focus on beating up the Virals. Inside the house, you had the advantage, but the same thing wouldn't work with the Virals, as did with the Volatiles. There were only four Volatiles last night, and here are more than 20 Virals.

You quickly got to the roof, much more bigger than inside the house, but you had a plan. One by one, the Virals went upstairs, you tried to kick the first one, but it dodged, moving back, but that made the behind ones fall, taking as consequence, the first Viral also fall down, and quickly, it went as a snowball, becoming bigger and bigger.

With this strategy, it was going to work, but was only with those who where going inside the house, and go through in that way, but other Virals were directly climbing up outside the house to get at you.

Before you get overwhelmed, you tried to make sure each one of them fall, but sooner or later, one reached to the roof, but didn't last long before you managed to threw it away, making it die once it got smashed against the ground of the street.

Slowly, you started to get tired, even with the strategy of making them fall, or throwing them away, there were so many of them, and only you. It was one against an entire wave of Virals, but after some time, it stopped.

After a big moment, you saw no more were coming, so you decided to sit down, and catch your breath. You didn't count how many of them were, but it was around 40. The explosion did call the attention of some far ones, but what made the wave, were their own growls. They were calling at each other, as a call of reinforcements between them.

Lost, and without knowing where to go, you went down, and started walking through the streets by yourself, until you found a big street. You continued your way, until finding a mechanical garage, where you found tools and metal.

You checked the building, and closed everything, including the garage entrances for the vehicles to be repaired, and once it was safe and all ways closed, everything seemed kind of dark, but you just used the flashlight to light what you were doing.

After some time, you used the tools to quit the bullets from the vest, and repair the vest, and even reinforce it with the metal you found. The vest looked brand as new, and even slightly more post-apocalyptic.
