DXD: The Awakening Of Phenex

Chapter 252: Chapter [252]

The faint moonlight filtered through the house's windows, softly illuminating the room. Riser stood in the center, holding a dark scarf between his fingers, while Nami watched him with an incredulous expression.

"You must be joking," said Nami, crossing her arms. "Blindfolding her? And how exactly does that help?"

"This seems ridiculous," replied Alvida, raising an eyebrow as she glanced at the scarf. Despite her skeptical expression, she remained still, waiting for an explanation.

"Put this on," Riser said, his voice calm and authoritative. He extended the scarf to Alvida, completely ignoring Nami's complaints. "And go fight."

Alvida hesitated for a moment, but her usual confidence quickly returned. "You really want me to fight blind? I'm not afraid of getting hurt, but this sounds completely pointless."

"You said you're not afraid, so prove it," replied Riser with a slight smile. He stepped closer, tilting his head slightly. "Trust me."

"This is absurd!" exclaimed Nami, pointing at Alvida. "You don't have to prove anything to him! Why on earth would you do something so stupid?"

"Because he's ordering me to," Alvida answered, taking the scarf from Riser's hands. Despite her reluctance, there was something in her tone that suggested acceptance. "And frankly, I like a challenge."

Alvida tied the scarf over her eyes, adjusting it carefully. Her breathing grew slower and deeper as she tested her remaining senses.

"This is ridiculous," Nami continued, shaking her head in frustration. "You're basically sending her against bounty hunters in the dark!"

"Exactly," said Riser, turning to the window. He looked out at the street, where the sounds of swords clashing and shouting still echoed. "And that's exactly how she'll learn."

"Learn what?" asked Nami, irritated. "To die faster?"

Riser remained silent, his expression calm as he took Alvida by the arm and guided her to the door.

"Trust your instincts," he said calmly, letting go of her and placing the iron club in her hands.

"Instincts? Do you really think that'll protect me?" Alvida retorted, adjusting the weapon as she frowned beneath the scarf.

"You have more than just instincts," Riser replied emotionlessly. "Use your Akuma no Mi and realize no one here can hurt you."

"This is madness," insisted Nami, positioning herself by the door. "You're sending her into a fight without even being able to see!"

"She doesn't need to see," said Riser, his voice as calm as a quiet night. "She needs to feel."

Alvida hesitated for a moment but raised her head confidently and stepped out the door.

"I really hope you know what you're doing," murmured Nami, crossing her arms and looking at Riser with frustration.

Riser ignored the comment and returned to the window, his gaze fixed on the moonlit street.

"Why are you so calm?" asked Nami, moving to stand beside him, her eyes still full of disbelief.

"Because there's nothing to fear," Riser answered with an enigmatic smile.

Nami crossed her arms, staring out the window as her concern for Alvida grew.

"She may be strong, but that doesn't mean she's invincible," said Nami, her voice filled with genuine worry.

"You worry too much," said Riser, watching Alvida disappear into the shadows of the night.

"Of course I worry," Nami retorted, shaking her head. "This is irresponsible, even for you."

"Sometimes, the best lessons come from unexpected situations," he replied, his voice filled with conviction.

"You're gambling with her life," accused Nami, her frustration evident as she looked at him.

"She will survive," Riser stated, his voice as firm as the ground beneath their feet.

Nami turned her gaze back to the window, silently watching as the wind lightly stirred the curtains.

"If anything goes wrong, it's your fault," she murmured, her eyes still fixed on the street.

"If anything goes wrong, I'll be here," Riser responded, his confidence unwavering.

Nami stood beside him, her face a mix of concern and disbelief.

The two watched in silence as the night swallowed Alvida's figure and the distant sounds of bounty hunters filled the air.

Zoro, dodging a punch from Miss Monday, spun agilely, evading bullets fired by the hunters around him.

Bang! Bang!

The bullets grazed past, hitting the walls behind him.

"You think you can catch me?"

Miss Monday, her eyes narrowed, pressed her attack further. "You're not as smart as you think!"

WHOOSH!

Zoro spun quickly, dodging another attack and knocking down two hunters coming from behind.

Suddenly, screams of pain began echoing through the night, interrupting the fight.

"AAAAAH! HELP!" shouted one of the hunters, his voice filled with pure desperation.

Everyone froze, including Zoro and Miss Monday, who turned to the source of the screams.

A figure slid into view down the street, barefoot and swift, while a club smashed everything in its path.

BAM!

CRACK!

Alvida's club struck the hunters with brutal force, leaving a trail of fallen bodies.

"She's blindfolded?!" yelled one of the hunters, firing desperately in her direction.

Bang! Bang!

The bullets ricocheted, unable to hit her.

Alvida swung her club with terrifying precision. "Is this the best you can do?"

SMASH!

Another hunter fell, screaming as the club crushed his armor.

Zoro narrowed his eyes, watching the scene. "Did she have too much to drink?"

Alvida, gliding gracefully, seemed oblivious to the chaos around her.

"Am I doing this right?" thought Alvida, feeling the vibration of the club in her hands.

CRUNCH!

Another hunter fell, the street now stained with blood.

Miss Wednesday, standing beside Mr. 9, looked pale. "This is disgusting!"

Igarappoi pointed at Alvida, his voice filled with rage. "Shoot her! NOW!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets rained down, but none struck Alvida.

The hunters' swords were equally useless, sliding off her slippery skin without effect.

Alvida laughed, swinging her club again. "Do you really think you can stop me?"

THUD!

A hunter tried attacking her from behind but was instantly crushed.

Miss Monday roared in frustration but kept her distance, seeing Alvida advancing.

"That woman is a freak!" shouted another hunter, retreating with wide eyes.

Zoro smirked, shaking his head. "Looks like I'm not the only monster here."

BAM! SMASH!

Alvida continued her deadly dance, gliding through the street as the hunters fled in panic.

"This isn't happening," murmured Igarappoi, retreating as he watched his men fall one by one.

"You're pathetic," said Alvida, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

She swung her club once more, hitting a group of hunters trying to regroup.

CLANG!

The sound of Alvida's club hitting the ground thundered, scaring off hunters attempting to regroup. Her eyes were covered, but her posture exuded confidence.

Another group fell as Alvida delivered another blow. She felt each vibration of the club as an extension of herself, her movements flowing with a precision that even surprised her.

"I won't run away!" roared Miss Monday, charging with a roar of fury. Her tense muscles indicated brute strength, and her hands gripped an improvised weapon.

BAM!

Miss Monday's fist came down hard on Alvida, but it had no effect. Alvida's slippery skin nullified the impact, and she stepped back, easily dodging.

"You should've stayed away," said Alvida, spinning the club with a fluid motion.

CRUNCH!

The blow struck Miss Monday directly in the chest, hurling her against the wall with a deafening impact. The structure cracked, and Miss Monday's body fell motionless to the ground.

"Did she... kill Miss Monday?" murmured Miss Wednesday, her eyes wide as she watched the scene. Her legs trembled, and she instinctively stepped back.

"That's impossible! No one should be this strong!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling as she looked at Mr. 9. "Did you see that?!"

"I saw... and it's terrifying!" replied Mr. 9, gripping his batons. Sweat dripped down his face as he retreated. "She's blindfolded! How does she know where we are?"

"It doesn't matter how! She's not invincible!" he said, trying to regain his composure. "Attack all at once!"

"This is a disaster," murmured Igarappoi, observing the chaos. He held a cloth to dry the sweat from his forehead. "Mamammmama... This wasn't supposed to happen! Who the hell is this woman?!"

He stepped back, his eyes scanning the situation. "If I had known the Straw Hats had monsters like her, I'd never have gotten involved."

"This isn't just luck," said Zoro, watching the fight from afar. He crossed his arms, his swords still sheathed. "This must be some crazy training from Riser."

Zoro narrowed his eyes, observing Alvida's movements. "Either way, even though she's blindfolded, she fights like she can see everything clearly."

"Stop this!" shouted one of the hunters, his voice desperate as he backed away. "She's a monster! We can't beat her!"

"Stand firm! We outnumber her!" tried another to encourage them, but his voice shook as he heard the next sound.

SMASH!

Alvida swung her club again, striking a hunter attempting to attack her from behind. "You're truly pathetic," she said, her voice laced with disdain.

She paused for a moment, adjusting the club in her hands. "I don't need to see to take you down."

"It's impossible!" yelled one of the hunters, throwing his weapon to the ground. "I give up! This isn't worth it!"

"Cowards!" shouted another, just before being hurled against a wall.

"Unbelievable," murmured Miss Wednesday, watching as the hunters fell one by one. She crossed her arms, her face pale. "This shouldn't be happening. We're dealing with monsters."

"You've lost," said Alvida, stopping in the middle of the street. Her breathing was calm, controlled. She rested the club on her shoulder as if it weighed nothing.

She turned her head toward Zoro, though her eyes were covered. "Was that enough? Or do you want to join the fun too?"

Zoro chuckled softly, shaking his head. "You've won. I won't ruin your fun."
