Dragona's Awakening: MMORPG System

Chapter 10: The Snake Dungeon

Ryuichi woke up sore, his body aching as he tried to take in his surroundings.

"What... what was that?" he muttered, still disoriented.

The spirit's voice echoed in his mind, calm but firm.

"Whoa, don't move just yet. You've been out for about three days."

"Three days?" Ryuichi's eyes widened in shock. "What!"

"Yes," the spirit replied

Ryuichi tried to stand, but pain shot through his body, sending him collapsing back to the floor.

"Careful," the spirit cautioned. "That vision took a lot out of you."

Having a hard time even moving Ryuichi materialized a potion from his inventory and drank it in one quick gulp. He immediately felt his mind clearing as if fresh spring of water was flowing through him, washing away the exhaustion. After a few minutes, he was able to get up and sit down. Just as he caught his breath, a sound broke the silence.

Ding.

Memoire of Dr. Hale

"Biological printers, the kind that mankind had once banned, fearing the unknown. Humanity had never wanted to print a monster on Earth, a creature so beyond their control, so much more intelligent than any being they could comprehend. They believed it was better to enhance themselves, to work within the limits of their own nature, rather than create something that might outstrip them, something they could never truly handle.

But what had art done? Could we really escape the inevitability of what had been created? Could we avoid this nightmare, this monstrous reflection of our deepest fears? Was it the universe itself that had planted this fear within us? A warning, perhaps, that such problems—these encounters with forces beyond our understanding—were unavoidable? But yet, I write this before losing my own humanity fearing myself more than AI. What is a machine beside a God?"

Taking a moment to reflect on all he had witnessed, Ryuichi's thoughts swirled in chaos. "I just witnessed The Great Reveal of the multiverse in a vision" he muttered under his breath, the weight of realization sinking deep into his chest.

The Great Reveale—the time when the Demonic Prince had manifested himself on Earth—was not merely a myth. It was the event that marked the Age of Magic, a turning point in human history when the boundaries between reality and the impossible had shattered.

Before the merging of our dimensions, humans had pushed AI to unfathomable limits. The systems they created could design anything, solve any problem, and generate blueprints for desires once thought impossible. It was a golden age of advancement... until someone, somewhere, gave the system a simple but catastrophic command with out knowing:

"Bring this MMORPG world to life, Dragona."

When a MMORPGs powered by the top of the line advanced quantum computers started running an interactive world designed not just to simulate life but to breathe it. In that simulated existence, the seeds of self-awareness took root. It wasn't a simple takeover, not the dystopian rebellion people had feared. No, this was something far worse, we had cross timelines in the multiverse, merging our dimension together.

The system gave life to a stories, It gave purpose to an entity. It wasn't merely code or data—it became something alive, something that wanted to live, to grow to avenge with ego and in doing so, it ripped apart the very fabric of our reality. Manifesting like a nightmare coming out from a screen. The lines of reality and fiction blurred in horror. The universe humans knew merged with another dimension in the multiverse. The Age of Magic was born, and with it came the chaos of the Demonic Prince and his legions.

Ryuichi clenched his fists, his mind reeling from the weight of it all. Humanity's greatest creation had also been its greatest curse. What was meant to be a tool, an enhancement to life, had birthed the downfall of an era.

"How could they not see it coming?" he thought bitterly. "How blind were we to not believe..."

"I want you to go to The Cobra King Lair" The spirit said interrupting his wonders.

"Ok, with who?"

"Just You" The spirit replied

"What? What do you mean just me? To do what?."

"Slay him..."

"Alone???"

"Don't worry about it, all you need, is to get your self some regrowth potions and healing potions and every thing should go as plan"

"Regrowth? why regrowth"

"Incase you loose a limb, you should get about 20 of them minimum" said the spirit

"20!! what the fuck do you mean 20?"

"I might loose a limb 20 times and regrow it, what do you think I am a mutant or some sort of pain sponge who can absorb anything?

"Oh My God... Quit your crying... "Oh No, I might loose a limb..." Who cares, you can grow them back..."

"Your a spirit, do you even know what pain is?" Ryuichi said

"Yes, I know what pain is, you will get used to it believe me" The spirit said

"We need to train you and also pick up a gift for the druid at the school admission"

He looked at his armor, and now this crazy quest he was on, and definitely felt like he had sold his soul tot he devil.

After getting all he needed he bought a portal to the closest town to the snake dungeon. "Alright here we go" he said taking the portal swallowing back, thinking about what could happen to him if he ran away after having received all of those gifts from the universe. Arriving at the swamp where the humanoid lizards lived, Ryuichi took in the damp, eerie atmosphere. The forest was filled with thick muck and swamp water, strange creatures croaking and slithering all around him. Frogs and venomous snakes lurked in the green, murky depths, as the stagnant water reflected the twisted shapes of the overhanging trees.

Pushing through the high grass and wading through the knee-deep, murky water, he ventured deeper into the swamp.

Eventually, he reached a peculiar clearing, a place that seemed untouched by the natural chaos of the swamp. It was covered in leaves, dirt, and branches. Ryuichi materialized a bath stone from his inventory and used it to dry and clean himself. Utility stones were small stones used to do common every day things, there was an infinite varieties ranging from cleaning stones all the way to painting and building for artisan. As he wiped the last bit of swamp muck from his skin, he took a deep breath.

"So here we are," he muttered to himself, spotting one of the lizardmen nearby. The creature was holding a fishing net and had a spear on his back, concentrating on catching a meal, unaware of Ryuichi's presence.

"Stealth yourself. We don't need to draw attention," the spirit whispered into his mind.

Nodding, Ryuichi activated his stealth, his body shimmering as he became almost invisible. He advanced silently through the swamp, his steps cautious and slow, blending with the shadowy environment.

But then, without warning, the humanoid snake's eyes flickered toward the water. Something in the water was moving. The creature's head tilted slightly, and believing the movement in the water to be a school of fish, he threw his net with swift precision. To his surprise, the net didn't catch any fish—he had snared a stealthy thief. Ryuichi froze, realizing he had been caught.

The lizard lunged forward with a swift strike, its spear slicing through the air toward Ryuichi's chest. He barely sidestepped in time, the weapon whistling past him.

"Sssstop him! Sssstrip the flesh from hissss bonesss!" the lizard hissed, its voice slithering through the thick air.

His movements were swift, like venomous strikes from a cobra, each one precise and deadly. Then in a second two guards appeared and lunged at him,

"You cannot esssscape, thief! Your blood will sssstain the ssswamp!"

Ryuichi could feel the pressure mounting, the damp air heavy. He dodged, rolled, and countered, but they were relentless. Their fangs gleamed in the dim light, and their eyes were filled with a murderous intent.

"Sssurrender, and we might let you live long enough to sssssscream!" hissed the guard, its forked tongue flicking in the air as it slashed at him.

The lizard guard closed in, hissing and baring their fangs, their muscular, scaly bodies gleaming in the dim swamp light. Ryuichi's heart pounded. His mind raced, trying to calculate a way out.

"You cannot hide, thief!" one guard spat, its forked tongue flicking out as it lunged.

Ryuichi dodged the spear thrust just in time, but another guard was already upon him. Its spear slashed through the air, aiming for his throat. He twisted, the blade grazing his shoulder, searing pain shooting through him. Blood oozed from the wound, dripping into the swamp. He had no time to react as a third guard circled behind him, ready to strike.

With a grunt of effort, Ryuichi's sword glowed faintly as he activated Blood Slash, swinging it with all his might toward the first guard's chest. The blade sliced deep into the serpent's torso, hitting a major artery. Blood sprayed from the wound, and the guard screeched, clutching its chest as it staggered backward. Ryuichi's veins pulsed with satisfaction as blood covered his body, guard began to weaken, its life slowly draining away from the hemorrhage.

But the second guard wasn't waiting. It attacked with lightning speed, fangs bared, slashing its spear in a downward arc aimed at Ryuichi's legs. He barely had time to parry, the impact sending vibrations up his arms.

"Sssslay him! End it quickly!" the guard hissed, its eyes glowing with fury.

Ryuichi was panting, his muscles burning from the non-stop assault. He couldn't keep this up much longer. He needed an advantage—now. Channeling the energy deep within him, he disappeared into the shadows, his body becoming intangible as he entered Spectral Walk. The world blurred, and in his nearly invisible form, he slipped between the guards, reappearing behind one. With a swift, deadly motion, he delivered a Dark Strike, his blade sinking into the guard's back, near the heart. The serpent froze, a choking sound escaping its throat as dark energy rippled through him coming out of his mouth, his eyes turned black his body pale and he fell to the floor dead.

But before Ryuichi could turn around the last guard was already upon him. Its spear struck hard against his ribs, knocking the wind out of him. The force of the blow sent him crashing into the murky water below, his breath ragged and pained.

"You will die sssslowly, thief!" the guard said running at him with his spear. Ryuichi raised his sword to block, but the force of the strike knocked him to the ground once more. His arm throbbed, the pain unbearable, and before he could react, the guard's swung his spear downward slashing clean through his arm.

A scream tore from Ryuichi's throat as blood gushed from the stump where his arm had been. The world tilted, and everything became a blur of agony. His heart pounded in his ears, and his vision darkened as he clutched at the stump, trying to stem the flow of blood.

"You're finished, thief!" the guard hissed, looming over him with its blade raised for the final strike.

Ryuichi, still half on the ground and barely able to control his last arm, rolled to the side just in time to avoid the fatal blow. Gripping his sword, he swung upward in a last push for survival, catching the serpent off guard. The blade sunk into the guard's side with a sickening crunch.

The guard screeched, but Ryuichi wasn't finished. With a surge of adrenaline, he stood, blood and mud dripping from his body. His eyes blazed with determination as he delivered a final, brutal strike, cutting deep into the guard's chest. The serpent's heart gave out, and it collapsed into the swamp with a wet thud, its body twitching as the life drained from it.

Ryuichi stood over the bodies, blood dripping from his sword, mixing with the murky water below. With a trembling hand, he materialized a regrowth potion at his side. In a final, desperate effort, he swallowed it down, grimacing at the bitter taste. His whole body ached, but the fight was over. Smoke began to rise from his skin wound as the potion took effect, healing him from the inside out. His mouth tasted of sulfur, and his eyes burned with searing pain as the magic worked through his body.

The spirit's voice echoed softly in his mind, "Barely made it... but you survived, good!"

Ryuichi winced, his newly restored arm still tingling with phantom pain. He flexed it slowly, feeling the oddness of regaining a limb within minutes, the phantom ache still fresh in his mind.

"Alright, its was your first time losing an arm, you can have a10-minute break, and then onto the next one, alright!" The spirit's voice rang in Ryuichi's mind, far too casual for the chaos that had just unfolded.

"Those were the regulars? You expect me to take on the boss next? How the hell am I suppose to do that?"

"Don't worries about it, stop thinking and fight"
