The silver spear blurred again, cutting through the mist like a serpent in water.
Thor barely raised Mjolnir in time to parry, the clang echoing uselessly into the void. The moment he countered, Proxima was already gone—swallowed by the fog, silent as death.
He growled, spinning with a flare of lightning. "FACE ME, COWARD! Or does your spear only know the backs of men!?"
Her voice curled around him like smoke.
"I don't care for honor, god of thunder. I was forged for precision. For death. You think this is battle?"
She struck again—this time the spear grazed his thigh. Thor let out a bark of pain, his leg numbing instantly. The wound burned with a cold fire, black veins creeping beneath his skin.
Proxima stepped forward into the faint light, her expression sharp with amusement. "This is slaughter."
Thor roared and brought his hammer crashing into the ground. Lightning exploded in every direction, ripping apart crates and rock and mist in a pulse of divine fury.
The light cleared the fog—but only for a moment.
Then it swallowed him again.
He panted, sweat soaking his golden hair. His wounds pulsed, and he could feel it now—the creeping death inside him. It wasn't just poison.
It was rot. It was despair.
"You look tired," Proxima whispered, voice almost sympathetic. "So much rage. But you don't understand. This mist… this place… it's not just fog, dear god. It's Nicroon. Once a world of trillions. Now dust… thanks to the mist you're breathing in."
Thor's eyes widened. "You brought me to a graveyard?!"
She chuckled, circling like a panther. "No. I brought you to the planet that kills gods. A perfect home for me. You? Not so much."
Her spear came again. Thor deflected—but sluggishly. His muscles were growing heavier, slower. He could barely track her now. Her speed was unnatural, and the mist only made her faster.
Another strike. His side.
Another. His back.
He dropped to one knee, coughing violently.
Proxima's boots echoed softly as she approached, twirling her spear in one hand.
"The spear you've bled for," she whispered, crouching before him. "Forged from a shard of something greater. Blessed by a god of death who has no name, no face—only a hate for all divine. It's laced with the very essence of the Necrosword."
She tilted her head, watching Thor's eyes widen.
"Even your kind fears that name, don't they?"
"Ghh…" Thor clenched his fists, eyes narrowed. "The Myst and the spear....Prepared that hard to kill me.....Let me guess...Knull?…"
"Good boy," she smiled. "Now die like one."
She rose, leveled her spear—and lunged.
But Thor grinned.
"I'm not just the god of war…"
A crack of thunder ruptured the fog as a single bolt from the heavens tore through Nicroon's black clouds like divine judgment.
CRACK!
Lightning struck Proxima's hand just as the spear was inches from Thor's chest. The impact lit her up like a star—her hand blistering, muscles spasming. She screamed and dropped the weapon.
And then it came—*
Stormbreaker.
It split through the atmosphere like a meteor, spinning with deadly grace. The axe sliced clean through her forearm.
Proxima howled, clutching the stump where her right hand used to be.
But even in agony, she was trained. She dove for the spear with her left hand and drove it forward, plunging the weapon into Thor's chest.
Schhhnk.
Thor gasped, eyes bulging—but he grinned through bloody teeth. "I don't like this place…"
Stormbreaker spun in his hand, and in one clean motion, he slammed it into the ground.
BIFROST.
A searing rainbow burst of cosmic light surged around them—Proxima's scream echoed one final time before it cut off.
The next instant—
They were gone.
...
A violent tear ripped through the sky above the base as the Bifrost cracked the atmosphere. The beam slammed into the reinforced earth, carving a smoldering crater.
Out from the light fell two figures—
Thor, bruised, bloodied, the black spear still impaled in his chest.
And Proxima Midnight, her right arm completely severed, clutched the weapon with her left—still standing.
Her golden eyes flared with realization.
Surrounding her now were dozens of Earth's finest—military units, Fantastic Four, and the Hulk, all assembled in preparation to back up the Nova Fleet's assault in space.
But instead, one of their greatest enemies had come to them.
Reed's eyes narrowed, calculating. "That's Proxima. This isn't part of the original plan."
Hulk cracked his knuckles. Johnny flared up beside him.
Proxima turned, her spear still embedded in Thor, panting—her body broken, but her resolve still burning.
Thor glanced at the gathering, barely standing, his voice gravelly but clear as thunder.
"This place... I like."
Sue Storm didn't hesitate. The moment Thor collapsed, she raised her hands—a glowing, translucent barrier encased the wounded god, isolating him from further harm.
Proxima Midnight, battle-worn and snarling, stood defiant. Her severed arm still dripping, her lone hand gripping her infamous spear. But she wasn't finished yet.
With a sharp yank, she ripped the spear out of Thor's chest, the dark ichor of godblood spraying the ground—and with a backward leap, she vanished into the misted wreckage beyond.
But her retreat was short-lived.
A sudden inferno cut off her path—Johnny Storm, fully ignited, hovered just above the ground like a blazing guardian angel.
"Going somewhere, space witch?" he smirked.
Proxima growled and pivoted, eyes locking on Reed Richards.
Weaker. Unarmored. Vulnerable.
Perfect target.
With terrifying speed, her spear lashed toward him like lightning, the tip screaming through the air—
—but it never connected.
Reed's body twisted and stretched like an ocean current, warping around the deadly strike. Before she could adjust, his arms coiled behind her, forming a whip-like helix, and with one massive, elastic punch—he hurled her across the field.
She slammed into rubble but didn't stay down. Coughing blood, she clawed to her feet, panting. Eyes scanning for her spear—
She raised her hand to call it back—
CRACK!!
HULK'S foot met her side like a meteor, sending her flying across the battlefield once again, the ground shattering beneath her path.
And still—it wasn't over.
The flames returned, this time full force. Johnny's body erupted into nova-like intensity as fire consumed her from all sides. She screamed—not in fear, but in fury.
"Stay down!!" yelled Johnny.
From above—Ben Grimm dropped like a stone, his rocky frame landing hard on her charred body. The shockwave split the concrete. A crater formed beneath them.
Smoke. Silence.
When it cleared—Proxima Midnight was on her knees, blood pouring from her mouth, ribs shattered, body mangled. Her eyes glazed—but her pride still burned.
One arm missing. Barely breathing. But still upright.
Johnny hovered, arms glowing. "What now?"
Reed stepped forward, cautious. "We call Valeria. We've got one. Emma Frost or Professor X can read her. We could find the others—the ones displaced by the Space Stone. This could change the entire—"
"Information… from me?" Proxima coughed, a thin, cruel smile forming.
"I am Proxima Midnight… Devout to my Lord… Thanos…" she hissed. "I die by my own rules."
Then—it happened.
The two broken horns atop her head—shattered during the fight—began to glow violently.
Ben's eyes widened in horror. "RICHARDS!!"
Without hesitation, he lunged forward, shielding Reed and Johnny beneath his massive arms.
BOOOOOOOOOM.
The explosion was cataclysmic. Flame, force, and black energy surged outward in a dome of destruction. Proxima was vaporized instantly.
And when the smoke cleared, only silence remained.
Ben groaned, the cracks across his rocky back glowing faintly.
"…She took herself out," Sue whispered from behind the barrier, watching the aftermath. "She didn't want to be interrogated…"
"They are even....Willing to die for him..…" Johnny muttered.
"Just like we are for our home! get the medical team and transport Thor out of here....One of them is down, six more! let's go!" shouted Reed
