Chapter 72: Chapter 72: A New Mission in the World of Pirates—The Employer is... Sengoku!
Although in the original work Krillin eventually became a background character, that was largely due to the limitations of his bloodline.
If we ignore his bloodline and focus purely on talent, Krillin's abilities were actually very impressive. After all, when he and Goku were young, they trained together under Master Roshi. At that time, Krillin even surpassed Goku.
However, as Goku continued to grow stronger, Krillin fell further behind, mainly due to his human lineage. Despite this, he still managed to create several impressive techniques. Among them, the most famous—and arguably the most powerful—was the Destructo Disc (Kienzan).
This technique was a deadly, high-speed cutting attack that Krillin used as a trump card in battle. He nearly killed Nappa with it—a warrior vastly stronger than himself at the time. If Vegeta hadn't shouted a warning in time, Nappa would've been sliced in half by Krillin's disc!
Later, on Planet Namek, Krillin again used the Destructo Disc against Frieza. Although he didn't land a fatal blow, he did succeed in cutting off Frieza's tail. Considering the massive power difference between them at the time, this feat alone was enough to demonstrate the technique's formidable cutting ability.
Even though the move lost its effectiveness in later arcs—due to opponents like Cell and Majin Buu having regenerative powers—it still couldn't diminish the strength and ingenuity behind the technique. The Destructo Disc remained one of the most dangerous attacks developed by a human warrior.
The fact that Krillin was able to create such a powerful move spoke volumes about his talent.
After transforming into a Super Saiyan God, Krillin began to ponder a bold idea: what would happen if he tried to stack transformations—transforming into a Super Saiyan on top of the Super Saiyan God form?
While the Super Saiyan God form is a transformation, it's essentially a state where the user channels divine energy. In many ways, it's a base form of godly power rather than a temporary boost. So Krillin theorized: if it's treated as a new normal state, then a Super Saiyan transformation should theoretically be possible from that foundation.
Driven by curiosity, Krillin gave it a shot.
And it worked.
With this breakthrough, Krillin unlocked an even more powerful transformation. Vegeta, upon seeing this, became frustrated. Not only had Krillin surpassed him—a proud Saiyan prince—but he had also opened the door to a new transformation path. Unable to accept this, Vegeta also trained hard and eventually mastered the Super Saiyan Blue transformation.
"Vegeta, if you're itching for a fight, let's go!" Krillin said confidently.
Hearing this, Goku's eyes lit up with interest. "Alright then, Kakarot, you're next. I'm going to beat you this time!" Vegeta grinned.
Krillin, however, had no interest in sparring with Vegeta right now. Seeing this, Vegeta turned his attention to Goku, eager for a good fight.
Krillin stood quietly for a moment, lost in thought.
"If only Frieza were alive right now…" he thought.
Back on Namek, Krillin was killed by Frieza as easily as swatting a fly. He had been utterly powerless at the time. But now, things were different. He had grown significantly stronger. If Frieza were to appear again, Krillin had no doubt—he could take him down without breaking a sweat.
But alas, Frieza was dead.
Or so he thought.

Earth — Somewhere remote
The sky suddenly turned pitch-black. It wasn't nightfall—it was the sign of something greater.
A colossal dragon hovered above, its serpentine body glowing with divine power. Shenron had been summoned!
"Speak your wish," the dragon rumbled. "Whatever it is, I can grant it."
Before Shenron stood a group of strange-looking aliens clad in armor, each wearing the emblem of the once-feared Frieza Force.
"Our wish is to bring back King Frieza!" one of them shouted.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Shenron's eyes gleamed bright red. The sky flashed.
"Your wish has been granted."
And just like that, the eternal dragon vanished. The black clouds dissipated, and daylight returned to the world.
The group rushed back to their spaceship—and to their joy, they found that Frieza had indeed returned. The tyrant of the universe had been resurrected.
Their eyes filled with tears. Ever since Frieza's death, his empire had crumbled. Enemies they once ruled over without question had risen to trample what remained of the Frieza Force.
But now… everything could change.
"King Frieza, you've returned! Under your leadership, our army will reclaim its former glory!" one of them declared passionately.
Frieza's cold eyes narrowed. "Before that… I have unfinished business. There are debts to be paid."
"You mean… revenge?" another asked cautiously.
Frieza nodded. "At the moment, I'm not strong enough. But if I train—truly unlock my full potential—then revenge will be simple."
"We understand."
"What's your name?" Frieza asked, turning to one of the aliens.
"King Frieza, I'm called Tagoma!"
"Very well, Tagoma. You'll train with me. Let's begin."
"Yes, King Frieza!"

Elsewhere...
Ding! Mission Alert! A thug task has been detected. Do you accept?
"Oh? A new mission?" Jack raised his eyebrows as the system prompt echoed in his mind.
He hadn't seen a mission notification in quite a while. Naturally, he accepted without hesitation.
"Accept."
Suddenly, information about the mission flooded his vision.
"Huh? Another mission set in the world of One Piece?"
"And the employer this time is…"
Jack's expression shifted.
"Sengoku?!"
It wasn't the first time he'd been hired for a mission in the pirate world. Last time, the mission had come from someone on the pirate side. That operation had caused serious damage to the Navy.
Back then, Jack had speculated that eventually, someone from the Marine side would seek his help.
But he didn't expect it to happen so soon.
Sengoku, the former Fleet Admiral of the Navy and one of the most revered figures in Marine history, was now listed as the client.
The mission details began to materialize:
> Mission World: One Piece
Employer: Sengoku the Buddha
Objective: Confidential
Difficulty: S+
Reward: ???
Rating Requirement: 5-star client satisfaction
Penalty for Failure: Mission lock for 30 days
Jack was intrigued. Not only was the mission from a major figure like Sengoku, but it also had a high difficulty rating and an unknown reward. Missions like these were rare and often came with high stakes.
But he was confident in his strength.
After all, he was no longer the same person as before. With the power and skills he had acquired through countless missions—both in Dragon Ball and now in the world of pirates—Jack had become a force that could shake entire worlds.
"Alright then, Sengoku... Let's see what kind of trouble you're dealing with."
He tapped to accept the briefing.
Within seconds, the surroundings around Jack began to distort. Colors twisted, space bent, and time seemed to slow. The familiar signs of dimensional travel had begun.
He was being sent into the One Piece world again.
But unlike before—where he had been hired by pirates—this time, he was working with the Marines.
Would this mission pit him against Luffy and the Straw Hat crew?
Or was it something even more dangerous—like an impending war?
Regardless, Jack was ready.
"Bring it on," he said with a smirk.
