SWNOVELXO Chapter 5: The admission exam
The exam hall was filled with teenagers of fifteen years of age waiting for the exam to begin. The place was noisy and crowded. Alan decided to stay at a specific spot where nobody would begin a conversation with him. After being there for some while, a boy with a skinny appearance made his way into the same spot which Alan has already occupied. "Can I please occupy this spot?". The boy asked. Through his appearance, Alan could quickly understand that this boy might be weak, which it might cause the boy to be targeted by bullies. Alan then nodded slightly, the skinny-looking boy then decided to start a conversation . "Hi I'm Jackson. What's yours?". The boy asked. Alan then noticed that the boy was trying his best to start a conversation with him. Since he didn't make any friends in his former life he decided that it would be great to have a friend.
"I'm Alan". Alan answered. The boy stared at Alan for some while, he noticed how Alan was properly dressed in royal clothes just like almost all of the students present at the school.
"Are you the son of a noble?". Jackson asked.
As Alan was about to answer, a voice then echoed loudly around the surroundings which finally brought total silence.
"Hi aspiring mages. Welcome to light mage school. I'm the supervisor for this exam. As you all know this is one of the best mage schools in the kingdom, And our aim is to bring out the potentials in every student of our school, for the purpose of being a powerful mage in the future ". The man then had a brief pause then continued his speech. "As you all know, today is the school's admission exam, and it'll determine whether you'll have the chance to get admitted into this school. Firstly,note that there are three stages in this test . The first is the intellect exam. The intellect exam determines how knowledgeable you are as an aspiring mage. Second is the offensive exam. This exam determines how well you can attack your opponent. Th. This stage determines how well you can attack an opponent in battle . The exam starts now ". The man said and then snapped his fingers. Suddenly a huge portal appeared beneath the students feet and they all fell inside including Alan and Jackson.
In the blink of an eye, all the students were teleported to a large room, filled with desks. "Two students each should occupy only a desk". The supervisor's voice rang as students began to take their seats. Just as fate could have it, Alan and Jackson luckily sat at a particular desk. "It's nice meeting you again Jackson". Alan smiled as Jackson slightly smiled back.
Suddenly, out of nowhere some sheets of papers with the exam questions appeared at each of the students desks. "Answer each question. You only have twenty minutes to answer the questions. And your time starts now. Remember anyone caught cheating would fail this exam. Good luck".
The question sheet contains the sum of twenty questions which vividly means that each question should be answered within a minute.
"HM! What will you do if you are surrounded by ten enemies in a battle as a mage?. It's kinda tricky. Let me guess ". Alan kept answering the questions just like how some students also kept answering the question.

Time quickly passed by and they all summited their answers. "Congratulations! For completing the first exam. And for the next exam. Each of you will be teleported to your specific instructor. Which will conduct the second exam ". Suddenly blue light surrounded each of the students and they all teleported to another area.
Alan, Jackson, Peter and Juliet were all transported to another area where they met their next instructor. She was a mage, and a very strong one. She had battled against strong monsters but has retired and settled as a teacher. "Nice to meet y'all". She greeted politely. "I'm your next instructor and each of your performance will determines what level each of you would be categories into.
Firstly, it was Peter's turn. Beast of about five in number suddenly emerged out from the ground and attacked Peter. He quickly dodged the attack and went into a battle stance. He then created a pool of fire which quickly finishes up the beast.
"That's great. Nice skill Peter". The woman praised. "So the next participant is Jackson".
Peter then stepped out and took a battle stance. He was shaking non stop and was scared. Just like Peter's turn, five beasts emerged from the ground and attacked Jackson. Since Jackson was not yet skillful with his ability, he was quickly defeated and injured.
"That wasn't amazing. But you tried a little bit". The woman said and stared at the list. "HM! Who's Alan. Please step out and take the test".
Alan then stepped out and took a battle stance. The five monsters then emerge from the ground and attacked Alan. But due to his improvement in his agility, he swiftly dodged the attack and went to another spot. The monster
s then dashed toward Alan. He quickly thought of a way of defeating the monster. As they got closer, Alan quickly jumped on a monster neck, making the other four monsters to attack him carelessly and accidentally killing the fifth monster. Then he then threw an effective punch which quickly knocked out another monster.
Bang! Bang! He then attacked two monsters by releasing an effective punch which quickly finished them . Swiftly! He kicked the last one which sent it flying and knocking it down.

Alan was filled with joy, he just got a skill of his own which would be useful in battle. As he walked back to where he formerly was, the instructor praised him. "That was great. Good job". She said and recorded something. "Next Juliet".
Juliet quickly took a battle stance. And just as the monsters emerge from the ground, she quickly used her wind ability to smash them multiple times on the ground and quickly finished them. Everyone mouth widen in amazement. She was strong and cool. And being the only girl but strongest person present made everyone amazed including Alan .
"All right. The exam is completed and you all pass successfully. And just like I said, this exam will determine what level you're". She stopped and then snapped her fingers. Suddenly a watch was stick to their wrist.
Just like in the system Alan was level 1, while Jackson was still level 1, Juliet was level 5 and Peter was level 3.
