Chapter 147: Chapter 147: The Battle Begins – Are You Playing House?

Chapter 147: The Battle Begins – Are You Playing House?

Han Li paused mid step, looking at her with some helplessness.

"Sister, did you forget that I'm only twelve, not twenty? Sure, my progress over the past few years has been a bit slow, but you can't call me weak, right?"

"Who knows? Maybe I'll reach Titled Douluo before you do."

"Impossible. Absolutely impossible."

Qian Renxue shook her head with confidence. Her spirit bone set was still incomplete she had only absorbed one piece so far, with five more remaining.

Not to mention, all five of those were 99,999 year spirit bones. Even though they had been absorbed before, the energy within them was perfectly compatible with her martial soul. At the very least, they would grant her an extra ten levels of spirit power.

And that was the worst case scenario. In reality, her gain would be much greater. There was no way Han Li could surpass her and reach Titled Douluo first not a chance.

"Believe what you want. Either way, I'm already much stronger than you were at my age."

Han Li shook his head, watching as Qian Renxue looked somewhat frustrated by his words.

"What level are you at now?"

The angelic spirit bone set's effects were indeed impressive. Even with his enhanced spiritual power, Han Li couldn't pinpoint her exact level. The best he could perceive was a vague aura.

And since they were on the same side, there was no need to invoke his "son" to scan her it was a simple matter of respect.

"Seventy four."

Qian Renxue tilted her chin slightly, as if reminding him that she hadn't neglected her cultivation.

"Oh, not bad. At least you haven't completely wasted your training."

Han Li casually responded.

His presence had already changed the course of history Qian Renxue had become a Spirit Saint eight years earlier than expected.

Seeing how indifferent he was and how the others behind him didn't seem impressed either Qian Renxue felt a little irritated.

Han Li glanced at her and immediately understood her thoughts.

"I told you before that you should've waited longer and trained more that wasn't just empty talk."

"Look at them Dugu Yan, eighteen years old, not even nineteen yet, rank 59. Shui Bing'er, thirteen, rank 53. Xiu'er, fifteen, rank 59."

"Let's not even talk about Bing'er Yan and Xiu'er, you should know their backgrounds. Compared to you, their starting points were far lower. And you also know how long they've been training."

Qian Renxue felt an annoying sense of pressure.

How did it feel like everyone was catching up to her?

She understood that Han Li had deliberately downplayed the effects of immortal herbs and their fusion cultivation method.

But she had also taken an immortal herb herself, so that excuse didn't hold up.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency.

No she needed to implement Han Li's plan as soon as possible.

Even if it meant being suspected, she had to accelerate her progress.

At worst, she would at least secure more training time.

Yes, she also needed to return to Spirit City soon to absorb the rest of her spirit bones. She refused to let herself be surpassed by others.

Especially not by the girls standing beside Han Li.

That was simply unacceptable.

"Good. She's getting motivated. One more battle, and my mission for Qian Daoliu is complete."

Han Li studied Qian Renxue's expression, giving himself a mental thumbs up.

"Let's go straight to the training ground. Let's fight first there's time to socialize later."

Qian Renxue suddenly stopped walking and looked at Han Li.

Oh?

Did he piss her off?

Was this little angel about to turn into a law enforcer?

"First, I punch. Then, I ask questions."

Well, that actually worked for Han Li. He immediately nodded, skipping the main hall and taking a detour toward the training grounds.

The others behind them exchanged glances before following along.

Meanwhile, the three Titled Douluo began discussing who would stand guard outside.

In the end, Porcupinefish Douluo reluctantly sighed and walked off.

Damn it.

Dugu Bo was protected by his status, and Serpent Lance Douluo had beaten him at rock paper scissors.

Training Grounds.

Han Li and Qian Renxue stood face to face.

"No need for introductions. Let's just start. Do you need me to give you time to prepare? The space here isn't that large, and since you're a ranged fighter, I wouldn't want you to feel at a disadvantage."

Qian Renxue stood proudly, staring at Han Li.

"Did you forget? My martial soul is also suited for close combat. If I really used ranged attacks, you might lose even faster."

A flash of light, and his twin Ice Fire Dragon Blades appeared in his hands.

Unlike before, Han Li intentionally amplified the spectacle.

Black. Purple. Black. Black. Black.

Five soul rings, each completely abnormal, emerged around him.

The dragon decorations on his twin blades lit up, transforming into two dragon phantoms one pure white, the other deep crimson.

They coiled around Han Li, exuding a powerful dragon's aura, their fierce forms snarling toward Qian Renxue.

"You think your martial soul can suppress mine?"

Qian Renxue's expression turned proud, and a golden light instantly enveloped her.

Behind her, a six winged angel projection manifested.

Her pure white wings spread from her back, lifting her into the air as if gravity no longer applied to her.

Two yellow. Two purple. Three black.

Seven soul rings materialized above her.

Though her rings weren't as oppressive as Han Li's, her aura, combined with her martial soul's golden radiance, created an imposing sight.

The entire training ground became bathed in a mix of gold and crimson light, as both energies clashed for dominance.

However, to her surprise, Han Li remained completely unaffected.

Instead, he seemed to be thriving under the pressure.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, but she knew this wasn't the time to ask questions.

Her fifth black soul ring lit up, and in her hand, a longsword of golden flames condensed, radiating holy energy.

She glanced at Han Li.

"Since you won't attack first, I'll make the first move."

"Angel's Wings!"

As soon as she spoke, she raised her sword high.

A second later, fifteen golden swords materialized around her, then merged into a single, massive light blade that slashed toward Han Li.

At the same time, her sixth soul ring glowed.

"Angel's Roar!"

The angel projection behind her suddenly flared, its eyes snapping open as a golden shockwave shot forward, traveling even faster than the blade.

"Impressive combo. Too bad… it's useless against me."

Han Li grinned, completely unfazed by her spiritual attack.

Instead, his wings flared open, and he charged straight into her golden sword.

"Not even using your Angel Domain? Are you playing house?"
