Douluo: Two brothers in douluo (completed)

Chapter 310: Chapter 310: You Definitely Don’t Miss Me as Much as I Miss You!

Currently, the development of soul tools primarily focuses on defense, flight, long-range attacks, and a few daily utility items.

Massive destructive weapons like soul tool bombs are nonexistent on the Sun-Moon Continent for now.

Most offensive soul tools rely on soul power beams as their main form of attack.

Close-combat soul tools do exist but are relatively rare.

After all, if one can attack from a distance, why resort to melee combat?

Flight soul tools are also available, but due to the lack of soul power storage technology, they consume vast amounts of the user's soul power during use.

Even a Level 9 Soul Engineer wouldn't be able to fly far.

This limitation is one reason why the Sun-Moon Continent hadn't discovered the Douluo Continent before the two continents collided.

Defensive soul tools mostly consist of reusable shields or armor that can mitigate damage.

One-time-use items like the "Invincible Shield" are technically simple to produce but are rarely crafted because they are resource-intensive and disposable.

Typically, a Soul Engineer would make only one or two for emergency use, as making more would be wasteful.

After spending a little more time in the Soul Tool Research Institute, Li Si finally headed back to his dorm.

"Welcome back!"

As soon as Li Si arrived, Gu Yuena was already waiting at the door, a faint smile on her lips and her eyes filled with longing.

It was clear she was overjoyed to see him return.

Without saying a word, Li Si embraced her tightly.

Caught off guard, Gu Yuena hesitated for a moment before placing her hands gently on his back.

After about a quarter of an hour, Li Si finally spoke.

"Yes, I'm back."

"I missed you," he said softly.

"I missed you too," she replied.

Gu Yuena didn't ask where he had been. If he wanted to tell her, he would. If he didn't, she didn't need to know.

As long as he returned safely, nothing else mattered.

In these past days, aside from researching soul tools, she had spent much of her time missing him.

For the first time in her life, Gu Yuena understood what it meant to long for someone—to worry about someone.

It was a feeling difficult to put into words.

The two embraced quietly, listening to each other's heartbeats, with neither knowing how much time had passed.

Their silence was eventually broken by a voice.

"Li Si, what... what are you two doing?!"

Xiao Wu stood there, looking completely puzzled as she stared at Li Si and Gu Yuena.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. Li Si had returned but didn't visit her first—instead, he came to Gu Yuena and just stood there hugging her!

Hearing Xiao Wu's voice, Li Si and Gu Yuena finally released each other.

Li Si, unperturbed, walked up to Xiao Wu and playfully ruffled her hair.

"Xiao Wu, you seem to have grown taller again."

"???"

Xiao Wu blinked in confusion. That was completely off-topic!

But what could she do? Of course, she forgave him!

"Where have you been for the past month? Do you have any idea how much I missed you?" Xiao Wu asked bluntly, not even attempting to hide her feelings, even with Gu Yuena present. She threw her arms around him.

"I went back to the Douluo Continent to take care of some things," Li Si replied, rubbing his nose.

"I missed you too."

"You definitely didn't miss me as much as I missed you!"

"I did!"

"No, you didn't!"

At this point, Xiao Wu glanced at Gu Yuena, who was smiling faintly but said nothing. Xiao Wu's resolve only grew stronger.

Li Si: "…"

Her intentions were crystal clear. What else could he say?

"Alright, I give up. Here, this is for you—a gift."

Li Si sighed and handed her the "Invincible Shield" he had just crafted.

For Xiao Wu, the Invincible Shield was practically useless. After all, her soul skills already included Invincible Golden Body, which was far superior to this shield.

However, since it was a gift from Li Si, Xiao Wu accepted it happily, throwing a triumphant look at Gu Yuena.

Gu Yuena: "…"

Aren't you a little old to act like a child?

After a pleasant meal and some relaxed conversation, the three of them—Gu Yuena, Li Si, and Xiao Wu—sat on the "sofa" in their dorm. The two women flanked Li Si on either side, leaving him feeling like he was roasting over a fire.

The reason for his discomfort was simple: both women clearly wanted him to spend the night with them, presumably to "discuss" the mysteries of life and origins.

Li Si broke the tension by asking, "Have you run into any challenges while researching soul tools?"

This question was directed at Gu Yuena, as Xiao Wu lacked the aptitude for crafting soul tools.

Their reactions to his question were markedly different.

Xiao Wu frowned, looking visibly frustrated. She truly couldn't make sense of those intricate inscriptions—they gave her a splitting headache just thinking about them.

Gu Yuena, on the other hand, shook her head thoughtfully.

At this point, she had already become a Level 1 Soul Engineer and was preparing to study Level 2 soul tools.

Her ultimate goal was to develop soul tools capable of traversing the universe and exploring the stars. These basic soul tools didn't interest her much.

Of course, creating such advanced tools required a solid foundation in the basics, and she had plenty of time to work on it.

"No major difficulties so far," Gu Yuena replied. "I've mastered the knowledge available to me, but now I need higher-level materials and knowledge to progress further."

While she could theoretically figure out the next steps on her own, doing so would be extremely time-consuming and inefficient.

Although she had plenty of time, she didn't want to waste it unnecessarily.

Hearing this, Li Si nodded. In truth, Gu Yuena had mastered the crafting of Level 1 soul tools faster than he had.

After all, as a god-level entity, her mental strength far surpassed his.

If someone gave her a precise blueprint for a Level 9 soul tool, she could probably learn and craft it in no time using her spiritual power—or rather, her divine sense.

However, while she could create the tool, she might not understand its principles or why it was made that way.

For Gu Yuena, simply being able to craft and use something wasn't enough—she needed to understand the theory behind it.

"Here's some knowledge about Level 2 soul tools," Li Si said, handing her the materials Qing Hongchen had given him.

"It includes the crafting methods and principles for defensive, offensive, and speed-based soul tools."

If Qing Hongchen knew about this, he'd probably cough up blood in rage.

Soul tool knowledge was rarely passed on casually. It was typically reserved for direct disciples or family members...
