Douluo: Two brothers in douluo (completed)

Chapter 303: Chapter 303: Li Si: Is This Tang San's Fate?

After a brief discussion with Gu Yuena and Xiao Wu, Li Si began preparing for his journey to the anime world.

He had one concern: the time flow discrepancy between the two worlds. What if he spent only a few days in the anime world, but decades passed in his original world? How would he handle that?

This thought made Li Si hesitate. His brotherhood with Lin Fan was important, but he wasn't a lone wanderer anymore—he had bonds of his own.

For Gu Yuena, decades might pass in the blink of an eye, but Xiao Wu, now fully human, didn't have the same lifespan.

Li Si: "Wait a moment…"

Focusing on the newfound ability in his mind, Li Si realized that because of Tang San's death in the anime world, and the subsequent activation of his own dimensional traversal ability, the two worlds were now synchronized in time.

In other words, however long he stayed in the anime world, the same amount of time would pass in his original one.

This realization brought relief. "No big deal—I'm not going to spend decades there, anyway."

The three of them—Li Si, Gu Yuena, and Xiao Wu—were currently in the Sun-Moon Continent, not on the Douluo Continent.

As the Silver Dragon King, and near her peak strength, Gu Yuena found crossing the sea and locating the Sun-Moon Continent a trivial task.

It had been a week since they arrived.

Just as they had speculated, while the Sun-Moon Continent's soul tool knowledge wasn't as advanced as it would be in ten thousand years, there were already a few ninth-level soul engineers. Though weaker than Douluo Continent's Titled Douluo in personal strength, what they valued here was the technology, not raw power.

For the three of them, joining a soul engineering academy was child's play. Before long, they became apprentice soul engineers.

Teacher: "What? You're requesting a long leave after just a week of enrollment?"

The teacher was dumbfounded. Li Si was a prodigy in his eyes—especially with his martial soul, a hammer. While Li Si's "soul power" was only at the Great Soul Master level, his future looked bright!

And now, after just one week, this prodigy was asking for a long leave?

"Talented, yes, but this is just wasting potential!"

Li Si (bowing): "Something urgent has come up at home. I have no choice…"

Teacher (sighing): "Fine, but only this once—don't make it a habit."

He couldn't afford to lose such a promising student. After all, Li Si had gone from knowing nothing to becoming a first-level soul engineer in just three days—a monstrous feat!

If Li Si's soul power increased, he might even reach the level of a ninth-level soul engineer in the future.

Li Si: "Thank you, Teacher!"

Soul tools, Li Si realized, weren't as complicated as he had initially imagined. With knowledge of how soul tools would develop over the next ten and twenty thousand years, he was confident he could one day create a battle armor—or even a divine mecha.

Li Si (excited): "The dream of all men!"

Of course, the teacher believed Li Si was only at the Great Soul Master level because his Clear Sky Hammer martial soul had only two "soul rings"—golden ones. Naturally, disguising them as yellow soul rings was a trivial matter for Li Si.

Teacher: "Go and come back soon. Your talent is the best I've ever seen. Don't neglect your soul power cultivation. If necessary, I can help you apply for resources to enhance your strength."

Treated as a genius, Li Si received special care, as was customary anywhere.

For someone like Li Si, they could only guide him well, offering help in the hopes that he might return the favor someday.

Li Si: "Thank you, Teacher!"

The teacher's name was Qing Hongchen. Whether he was an ancestor of Meng Hongchen, Xiao Hongchen, and Jing Hongchen was unclear, but given his surname and martial soul—a toad—it seemed likely.

At around fifty years old and already a seventh-level soul engineer, Qing Hongchen was quite accomplished for his time. After all, soul tools didn't yet have as many research directions as they would in the future.

After bidding farewell to Qing Hongchen, Li Si left the academy, found a secluded spot, and vanished with a flicker of light.

Gu Yuena (watching the spot): "You've disappeared… How long will you be gone?"

She stared at the empty space, feeling a pang of longing.

After a while, she returned to her workshop, fully immersing herself in soul tool research.

Gu Yuena (thinking): "Li Si is right. Soul tools might be the key to the soul beast race's survival. Before he returns, I must perfect my understanding and give him a surprise!"

The sensation of traversing dimensions was indescribable. It felt as if Li Si blinked and found himself in the Soul Land (anime) world.

He looked around and noticed a large stone slab nearby.

Li Si (confused): "What's this rock doing here?"

Fortunately, Demon Bear Douluo had left quickly. Otherwise, he might have been startled by Li Si's sudden appearance.

Curious, Li Si moved the stone slab aside. What he saw next made him pause.

Beneath the stone was a pit containing a figure—clothes tattered, face withered, resembling an old man in his seventies or eighties. Yet, he appeared peaceful in death.

Li Si (perplexed): "What the hell happened to this guy?"

Spotting a storage soul tool around the corpse's waist, Li Si immediately understood.

Li Si (realizing): "Oh, this must be Tang San—the protagonist of this world!"

He took a step back, instinctively muttering to himself.

Li Si: "Damn, he's in a bad way, huh?"

Inspecting the surroundings and the natural pit, Li Si deduced that Tang San had died of natural causes. But who had buried him with this stone slab?

More curiously, why hadn't anyone taken the storage soul tool from him?

Li Si (frowning): "Wait, why is there still a trace of soul power on him?!"

Taking a closer look, Li Si hesitated.

This was his counterpart from another dimension. It felt uncomfortably like harming himself.

As for how Tang San ended up in this state, it didn't matter anymore. What mattered was that he was truly dead, and judging by the state of his body, it had likely been over a week.

Li Si (thinking): "Looks like I was right. If the Dai Mubai from my world dies, Lin Fan might gain the ability to traverse worlds as well."

Glancing at Tang San one last time, Li Si sighed and removed his Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges belt. It was a valuable storage soul tool, and who knew what treasures it might contain?

After a moment of hesitation, Li Si clenched his teeth and made up his mind...
