Douluo: The Traveler's Adventures In Douluo Dalu

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Fire Meow Meow Vs. The Black Robed Man

Dugu Bo snapped out of his mind control just in time to see two massive hammers barreling down at his face, thick with destructive power.

If they hit, he figured even if he didn't die, he'd be crippled for sure.

But he made no move to dodge. Instead, he roared, "Run!"

ROAR!

A beast king's roar shook the mountains, sending snow cascading down distant slopes.

Just as the two hammers were about to slam into him, a massive fire lion burst out from between them. It swung its sharp claws, smashing the hammers aside with brute force.

The sheer Impact sent both Tang Hao and the elder—who were linked to the Clear Sky Hammers—stumbling back several steps before they managed to steady themselves.

"Three against one—did you really think we had no one else?"

The fire lion was none other than Fire Meow Meow in his full-power state. He spoke in human tongue, his eyes cold and contemptuous as they locked on the trio before him.

"Lord Fire Meow Meow, take them and go! This place is too dangerous to linger!"

Dugu Bo cried out anxiously. He hadn't expected Fire Meow Meow to ignore their original plan of retreating with the girls and instead charge straight into a confrontation with the Clear Sky Sect.

"These guys piss me off. What say we smash this damned sect together?"

Fire Meow Meow's gaze never left the three enemies, brimming with fighting spirit.

Retreat? He couldn't care less.

"A soul beast… over a hundred thousand years old?!"

It wasn't just Dugu Bo who was frantic—the black-robed figure on the opposite side was visibly shaken, staring at Fire Meow Meow in utter disbelief.

"Rrraaargh~!"

Fire Meow Meow let out a thunderous roar. "What? Judging from that look in your eyes, you want to eat me?"

His voice was laced with mockery as he stared down the black-robed man's undisguised greed.

"Hahaha~"

The black-robed man burst into laughter, but his voice quickly turned sharp.

"Strange, truly strange… You people from the Clear Sky Sect really are something. First that one, now this… soul beasts just lining up to be caught. Excellent—simply excellent!"

He repeated the word "excellent" like a mantra, his eyes hungrily fixed on Fire Meow Meow.

"Be smart and sacrifice yourself to me. Otherwise, your death will be nothing short of agonizing!"

It wasn't just about harvesting soul bones—he wanted Fire Meow Meow to willingly sacrifice himself, so he could extract every last ounce of essence at maximum benefit.

"Don't make me laugh. You? What the hell are you to deserve my sacrifice?"

Fire Meow Meow's jaws opened wide, spewing a jet of blazing flame. The black-robed man dodged it with a swift sidestep, his face darkening.

Seeing that the beast wouldn't comply, he turned toward Tang Hao and the elder and barked:

"He's fire-aligned, and I've got the perfect counter. You two handle that other guy—I'll take this one alone. That soul bone will be mine!"

"Seventh Soul Skill—Martial Soul True Body!"

Determined to end things quickly, the black-robed man unleashed his strongest form right off the bat.

A gigantic spectral devilfish appeared behind him, his soul power surging to terrifying levels.

Water and fire had always been opposites. Fire might suppress water, but overwhelming water would extinguish flame. He knew this principle well.

So, from the start, he went all-in, hoping his water-aligned martial soul could overwhelm Fire Meow Meow's flames.

"…What kind of weird fish crawled out of a ditch this time?"

Fire Meow Meow stared at the manifestation behind the man, unbothered, even licking his lips instinctively.

Since ancient times, fish belong to cats—and this fish? He was definitely on the menu.

He'd already been itching for a fight while hiding behind Dugu Bo earlier. The arrogance this guy radiated made him feel sick.

If this were someone with power on par with his master, fine—he'd back off.

But a guy like this, who gave off the vibe of someone he could mop the floor with?

You think you can act like a big shot? Make me sacrifice myself?

Even Master never said that! Who the hell do you think you are?

Pah!

Fire Meow Meow's inner monologue raged.

This poser needed to be put in his place—taught what the wrath of Fire Meow Meow really meant.

But he wasn't reckless. Knowing that the girls were still behind him, he leapt to the far side of the cliff's platform to prevent them from getting caught in the crossfire.

There, he humanely raised one massive paw, and with a flick, extended a sharp claw and waved it provocatively.

"You wanna fight? Come get me~"

"Hahaha! What a delightful soul beast! I can't wait to skin you alive!"

The black-robed man, already pushed past the brink by Fire Meow Meow's taunts, burst out laughing—then vanished, leaving only a faint afterimage in place.

The next moment, he was already right in front of Fire Meow Meow.

Seeing the black-robed man charge with overwhelming soul power, Fire Meow Meow didn't dare slack off.

Blazing flames erupted across his entire body as he swung his claws with all his might to meet the attack.

In a flash, the two clashed.

Their battle was fierce, evenly matched, each strike sending shockwaves through the ground.

After several furious exchanges, they leapt apart in sync, each returning to their respective corners of the platform.

Fire Meow Meow gave a full-body shake, steam rising from his fur.

The black-robed man, meanwhile, was trailing wisps of smoke from his soaked robes.

Gone was the earlier arrogance from his face—replaced by a grim, solemn expression.

This beast… is stronger than I thought.

He eyed Fire Meow Meow warily, especially the blazing flames that clung stubbornly to the creature's body.

Ordinary fire-aligned soul masters or beasts would've stood no chance against his deep-sea water.

But this beast's fire—he didn't know where it came from—could actually evaporate his deep-sea waters under pressure?

If he could somehow force a sacrifice and claim this beast's soul bone, and maybe even this innate fire trait… his power would surge to a new level!

That thought made the man's eyes burn with madness.

As for Fire Meow Meow, while his flames had dimmed a little, he was far from spent.

In fact, he knew full well: he'd had the upper hand.

He'd been with his master for a long time. His flames might not yet be an Extreme Fire, but the pyro-element energy he'd absorbed was unbelievably pure.

Given more time, he had full confidence he could refine it into an Extreme Fire eventually.

But even now—without that refinement?

This stinky fish was already well within ass-kicking range.

The black-robed man might've had a slight edge in soul power rank, but soul beasts and soul masters had very different baselines.

That gap, plus the power of his flames, gave Fire Meow Meow all the advantage he needed.

"ROAR! Die, you bastard!"

With a thunderous roar, Fire Meow Meow lunged once more, launching another furious assault.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Dugu Bo was now fully engaged with Tang Hao and the elder.

But unlike Fire Meow Meow's side, neither Dugu Bo nor his opponents had gone all out just yet.

Titled Douluo weren't that easy to kill—they were all probing for weaknesses, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
