The Blood Bat hadn't been ambushed. It had been utterly crushed in a head-on confrontation.

A shadowy figure surfaced in his mind—one capable of such power, one Lin Ye might be connected to. But after some thought, Elder Feng Jian chose not to dig further. The Holy Maiden was safe, and the Blood Bat was dead. That was enough.

After reuniting with Hu Liena and Lin Ye, Elder Feng Jian led them out of the Eternal Night Forest. When they reached the waiting groups—the Spirit Hall operatives and the Savage Bear Soul Hunting Party—a collective sigh of relief filled the air.

Upon learning that the Blood Bat was slain and the evil Soul Masters' hideout destroyed, the Spirit Hall wasted no time announcing the news.

That evening, Hu Liena brought Lin Ye and the Savage Bear group to the Spirit Hall's branch in Eternal Night City, fulfilling her promise: they were granted entry to the vault to choose their rewards.
