Douluo Dalu: I'm Summoning Game Characters

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Familiar Territory

Lu Jingming had recently been executing a plan that required a significant amount of Truth Power.

Moreover, his income of Truth Power had been gradually decreasing lately, and he hadn't found an effective way to expand it. In such circumstances, he truly didn't want to expend Truth Power carelessly.

The thought of increasing his Truth Power income reminded him of Herta.

He wondered about Herta's research progress, and if the Cosmic Juggernaut had successfully anchored coordinates to a parallel world.

"If you have something to do, go ahead. You don't have to force yourself to stay with me; I can get back to work," Keqing noticed Lu Jingming's distraction. She gently wiped the corner of her mouth with a handkerchief and spoke softly.

"How could that be? For me, the most important thing today is you," Lu Jingming snapped out of his daze, looking directly into Keqing's beautiful, amethyst-like eyes, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

Everything else could be set aside for now; today, his and Keqing's time belonged only to each other.

"Is that so? Whatever you say," Keqing's gaze flickered, unable to meet Lu Jingming's intense stare.

She wasn't quite used to Lu Jingming's direct tenderness. In her opinion, she felt more familiar and comfortable when he was playfully bickering with her.

Yet, at this moment, a different kind of warmth bloomed in her heart, a warmth that left her feeling a little flustered, forcing her to respond with feigned composure.

Unlike Keqing's slight reserve, Lu Jingming was exceptionally proactive.

Since they started their outing together, his hand had never once released Keqing's soft little hand.

Thus, he led Keqing through Sea Abyss City all day long, thoroughly exploring this city that belonged to them.

Entertainment on the Douluo Continent was rather monotonous, mainly limited to soul dueling arenas or casinos and brothels filled with desire—all repetitive and uninspired.

But Sea Abyss City was different. Here, there were all sorts of novel amusement facilities, tempting food aromas wafted through the streets, cheerful music flowed everywhere, and bookshelves were packed with novels.

For the people of the Douluo Continent, every aspect felt fresh, as if opening a door to a new world.

When Lu Jingming and Keqing strolled into a bookstore, his gaze was instantly drawn to a few books on the shelves.

The names and styles of those books felt strangely familiar. After a careful thought, he remembered that Castorice was keen on writing novels, and she was incredibly prolific, writing one after another.

However, Castorice had a peculiar habit, perhaps stemming from her unique life experiences: she disliked endings. This meant she never wrote conclusions for her novels.

This implied that although she had authored numerous novels, none of them were completely finished, leaving only frustrating "pits" that left readers yearning.

Lu Jingming looked up, and he saw that most of the books on the bookstore's main display shelf for novels were Castorice's works.

Looking at the exquisite book covers, he couldn't help but silently mourn for those loyal readers for three seconds in his heart.

According to Castorice's writing habits, these readers would probably never see the endings of these novels in their lifetimes, as Castorice seemed only interested in starting new stories, with no interest in filling existing "pits."

Joyful times always passed quickly. In what felt like a blink, dusk gradually set in.

The soul guide lamps on Sea Abyss City's streets lit up on cue, emitting bright yet soft light, adorning the entire city with a particularly warm glow.

Unknowingly, Lu Jingming had already escorted Keqing to her residence.

Perhaps the whole day spent together had made him a little carried away; he naturally held Keqing's hand and lifted his foot, intending to walk into her boudoir.

"Slap!" With a crisp sound, Keqing reacted instantly, pressing her hand firmly against the doorframe, steadily blocking Lu Jingming.

"What are you doing?"

A girl's boudoir was an extremely private space; how could a boy enter and exit as he pleased?

"Uh... didn't I say earlier that I'd accompany you all day? Of course, the evening counts as part of the day!" Lu Jingming's expression was serious, his tone carrying a hint of matter-of-factness, attempting to persuade Keqing.

"Hehe, you wish!" Keqing's mouth twitched slightly, a faint purple electric arc even flashed in the corner of her eye. Though a smile played on her face, it wasn't a very friendly one.

Lu Jingming remained persistent, still wanting to try.

He thought to himself, even if he entered Keqing's boudoir tonight and did nothing special, just sat for a while, that would still be a big step forward in their relationship.

However, Keqing gave him no such opportunity.

She simply picked up the little fox beside her, left a "Get some rest," and decisively shut Lu Jingming out the door.

Lu Jingming looked up at the sky, speechless, but he wasn't discouraged. Today was already a great start; at least they held hands all day, and Keqing didn't resist, right?

One day, he would win over this Keqing-cat.

Then, he stroked his chin, pondering whom to seek out tonight. Robin, March 7th, and Jinhsi were probably difficult, most likely like Keqing, he wouldn't even get past their doors. Firefly, Castorice, and Ji Yingying, entering their boudoirs might be easy, but staying the night would be just as hard.

After much thought, the only one who would let him stay was Zhang Lexuan.

As for why he didn't return to his own room?

Are you kidding? Being able to sleep while holding a sweet-smelling, soft beauty, even if it was just pure sleeping, he could still have a sweet dream. That was far better than sleeping alone.

Action followed impulse. Lu Jingming quickly arrived at Zhang Lexuan's door and knocked.

A moment later, the door slowly opened, revealing Zhang Lexuan's graceful figure.

She was dressed in a pure white nightgown, her ink-black hair casually draped over her shoulders, still carrying the lingering moisture from her bath. She exuded a languid yet charming aura, clearly having just finished showering.

"Xiao Ming, weren't you with Keqing? Why are you here?" Zhang Lexuan's lips curved slightly, looking at him with a teasing smile in her eyes.

After all, the fact that Lu Jingming had spent the entire day with Keqing was practically common knowledge; everyone had simply tacitly agreed not to disturb their two-person world.

"Sister Lexuan, aren't you asking the obvious? I'm exhausted from strolling all day. I'm going to take a shower first." Lu Jingming paid no mind to Zhang Lexuan's teasing, skillfully walking past her and into the room.

He was as familiar with Zhang Lexuan's boudoir as he was with his own home.

He effortlessly grabbed Zhang Lexuan's bath towel and found men's pajamas from the wardrobe.

Unsurprisingly, even a change of men's clothes was readily available here, as if prepared for his arrival long ago.

Zhang Lexuan watched his natural actions, not a hint of shyness on her face.
