-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unaware of the awkwardness back with the others, Tang Zhen walked up to a town, the trees were barren of life. The land itself looked like it was dead. He looked to the side and saw someone hanging from a tree asking for a shot of Bloody Mary constantly.

Shaking his head, he kept walking past him, he looked at a woman passing by. She was stunned by the blue and stopped taking another glance back at him. The color looked like the color of life itself contrasting from this desolate wasteland.

Tang Zhen came up to a building and opened the door. He found what looked like a bar that reeked of body odor and many people were standing around drinking a red boiling liquid.

He sat down at a table and the waiter came over asking for his order. After ordering a Bloody Mary, he drank it. Familiar with bloodlust and death, Tang Zhen brushed off the effects before asking for another.

The problem was people were staring at him. How was this guy drinking without taking off his mask? Tang Zhen had placed everyone in an illusion the moment he entered with his Sharingan active and people turned to look at him. He was intentionally trying to rile up some of the thugs.

It eventually paid off as one of them walked up to him.

"Where did you come from brat? This isn't a place for kids, go back to your mother." He provoked.

Tang Zhen stood up with his height of 6'2" placing the man a little shorter than him creating a funny image. The thug was unconcerned with his height. He looked to be thin and weak not knowing the harshness of the world based on his unmarred skin above the mask.

Tang Zhen suddenly reached out, grabbed the man's head and smashed it into the table breaking it. The other bar patrons all stood up drawing weapons before walking over to him. They heard the thug on the ground groaning in pain before they saw Tang Zhen lift his foot and crush his head.

One of the thug's friends got angry before smirking.

"This is a test. To be able to enter Slaughter City, kill him!"

They released their soul rings and closed in on Tang Zhen who activated his Sharingan and releasing his own causing everyone to stop.

Purple, Purple, Black, Black, Black, Black, Red rings slowly descended from Tang Zhen with the last Red ring causing an oppressive force to hit them all.

Having never seen a configuration like that, they all tried to run but before they could, they were all cut down in an instant.

Using his eyes, he could see the influx of soul power being sucked somewhere underneath a bar counter. As two of the bartenders hugged each other out of fear, he walked up to them looking down with red eyes like a demon. After killing them as well, he smashed the counter to reveal a red portal. Without hesitation he jumped in.

As he emerged from a portal in the sky, he landed and could feel his senses being disrupted but was unaffected by the illusion that was trying to be cast on him.

Coming upon a long bridge with soldiers on each side, he walked forward before he heard a deep voice.

"Stop right there." Soon a red mist appeared and an armored figure on a horse appeared.

"I am Dread Knight Scott and you have violated the rules. But if you can defeat me, your entry into Slaughter City will be ensured.

"Hn." Tang Zhen just scoffed. Enraged at his indifference, Dread Knight Scott rushed at him.

Tang Zhen channeled his soul power and summoned his Haotian Hammer. He felt somewhat regretful that the first time he could use the martial soul inherited from his father had to be used in a place like this. But this was necessary.

Tang Zhen's unparalleled affinity with Thunder enhanced his Haotian

Hammer even more. His father's being unusually more powerful that the other clan members for unknown reasons which led to his title of genius surpassing even Tang Hao.

Using one hand, he met the Dread Knight's attack head on which resulted in the Dread Knight's arm to be blown off and as Tang Zhen swung through, he decapitated the horse knocking him off of it. The force of his swing created a shockwave injuring the surrounding guards. Dread Knight Scott got up and tossed him a pass. Number 9317.

As he walked up to the gate, it opened and again red mist appeared as he heard an alluring voice.

"Welcome to Slaughter City." A woman in black with her hair tied up in a bun and a spider web tattoo on her thigh came out and ushered him in.

Tang Zhen walked past her walking inside. They walked through the streets with her explaining that he was under protection for the first 24 hours. A body fell from the sky and was cleared by the woman before she explained that once you entered, you cannot leave.

They watched a man run out before being killed. As if in a challenging manner, she looked at Tang Zhen with red eyes.

"Leaving without permission is impossible." But as she stared into his own red eyes, she began to feel uneasy. He didn't say anything just stared at her with a gaze holding no emotions.

Tang Zhen turned without around and kept walking and some people came out thinking he was fresh meat and easy prey. But soon they backed away in fear.

"It's the Emissary of the Slaughter King!" As they all ran away, the emissary walked back up to Tang Zhen.

"These are all losers from the arena. You must contribute two Bloody Marys every month to gain protection from the Slaughter King."

"Enough woman. Bring me to the Hell Slaughter Arena." Tang Zhen said coldly.

"Are you sure?" the emissary asked.

Tang Zhen just kept walking. Soon they heard a commotion and headed towards it.

They saw a group of thugs surrounding someone before a body was thrown down and a sound of clicking heels were heard.

Tang Zhen looked and was happy.

"Bibi Dong, you are here. I was hoping to meet her here and get some time alone with her away from the eyes of the Soul Hall." Tang Zhen thought.

A figure approached Tang Zhen from behind and he saw Bibi Dong throw her knife. Tang Zhen threw a kunai at the same time. While her knife knocked the assailant's weapon out of his hand, the kunai hit him in the neck ending his life.

Tang Zhen picked up the knife and handed it back to Bibi Dong.

"Thank you." He said.

Bibi Dong, saw his eyes and froze. Feeling his aura, the same aura she has not been able to forget since the finals of the competition held in Spirit City, she couldn't help but be surprised.

"Tang Zhen? What is he doing here?....What will be think of me seeing me like this?" Bibi Dong took the knife and tried to walk away but Tang Zhen grabbed her arm.

"I'll come find you and we can talk."

".....Mhm" Bibi Dong left right after.

"It seems like you're a rookie, but it doesn't seem like you need protection. Do you know her by any chance?" The emissary asked Tang Zhen.

Tang Zhen stared at her before leaving. The two entered the Slaughter Arena and looking, Tang Zhen walked up to register. Once finished he walked to the side to wait his turn.

His path was blocked by some random character who saw the Emissary of the Slaughter King behind the new guy and the area was cleared out immediately from the people there fleeing.

Walking up to the edge, Tang Zhen stayed there without a word.

"The winner can absorb the losers' soul power. That is the rule of Slaughter Arena. Every match you win allows you one more year to enjoy yourself here." The emissary caressed Tang Zhen's arm and went to his chest surprised by his build. The cloak really hid him well.

Tang Zhen hearing his number, shook her off and turned to enter the arena.

Surrounded by a group of 9 people looking to kill the newest addition to Slaughter City, Tang Zhen unleashed his Haotian Hammer which was crackling with Thunder power.

The emissary was stunned and Bibi Dong ran up to the edge of the viewing platform.

"Tang Zhen? Tang? He has twin martial souls and is part of the Haotian Clan?" Bibi Dong thought with surprise. For some reason, her heart hurt knowing that fact.

In another room a figure was staring at the arena.

"Over the past thousand years, you're the third from the Haotian Clan to enter Slaughter City." A figure said.

In a flash, the match was over.

"Number 9317 is the winner."

Tang Zhen walked up to the emissary and dismissed her before walking up to Bibi Dong.

"Are you ready? Let's go somewhere that's more suitable to talk."

As he walked away, Bibi Dong was conflicted. The Haotian Clan was an enemy of the Martial Soul Hall. But her desire to find out more about Tang Zhen won over as she followed him.

They ended up in a secluded room and Tang Zhen pulled a chair for her to sit. After a moment of hesitation, she saw that he no longer had those red eyes and they were back to being the blue ones that kept occupying her thoughts. Taking a seat she saw Tang Zhen do the same.

"Why are you wearing that mask?" She asked in a neutral tone.

"I only wear it to keep away unwanted attention."

"....with your Haotian Hammer I don't think that is working that well." She said in a dry tone.

"Heheh I guess you're right. But I still have to keep the fact that I have twin martial souls a secret." Tang Zhen said a little sheepishly at first.

"But I know now. So what will you do, kill me?" Bibi Dong said in a challenging tone.

"No. I have a proposition for you." Tang Zhen said crossing his hands in front of his face as he leaned forward.

"Interesting. What do you have in mind?" Bibi Dong was now thoroughly intrigued.

"We both complete 100 battles and challenge Hell Road together. But we cannot show that we are working together." Tang Zhen offered.

"Why would you help me? We are enemies after all. Your clan and the Soul Hall I mean." Bibi Dong said in a tone that sounded somewhat reluctant.

".....Bibi Dong. I don't know about you but I feel like our martial souls are drawn to each other. I also can feel that you are inherently not a bad person so I will trust you. Will you listen to my story?" Tang Zhen said seriously.

Bibi Dong was stunned that he would blatantly say that he trusts her but she felt her heart beating quicker. She was going be able to find out more about him and she became excited but controlling her emotions, she nodded.

Tang Zhen pulled his mask down and she felt a blush coming to her face. He was still the most handsome man she had seen and he was without a doubt powerful.

It took nearly an hour for him to tell her about his family and the feud he has with both the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Haotian Clan. After he was finished, she felt for him. Like her and her brother, Tang Zhen was an orphan at a young age. But she had a question that was bothering her.

"Tang Zhen, are you still okay with your martial souls, I feel that if it were me, I would hate myself. Having the martial souls of the clans that murdered my parents would be difficult." She said cautiously.

Tang Zhen smiled a bit. He thought about this for a while as well.

"It did bother me at first. However they are the martial souls of my parents and I was the result of their love. If I hated myself for that reason, I would be insulting my parents and their love. So I take pride in the fact that I have both. In the future, I will deal with both clans my own way." He said.

Bibi Dong gave a small smile as well. Soon they talked back and forth for a while before they left agreeing on the plan.

In another room, the Slaughter King was troubled. He knew that the Emissary of Hell was sent by a an existing Death God, but he couldn't see anything about the new participant. For some reason, even with his spies and his connection to the Asura God, he cannot see the identity of this man.

Was he sent by the other Death God? They had the same martial soul so it was possible.

He dare not act against him and offend him. After all he is the most terrifying of the two existing Death Gods. The Slaughter King could only hope that he fell in the arena. If not, he would have to offer him the title of Death God without having him complete hell road to prevent disaster.

A year had passed again and Bibi Dong and Tang Zhen were both at 72 victories.

Tang Zhen being much stronger than Tang San in the original story did not suffer as many wounds.

Unlike Tang San, even when the others in the arena tried to keep him from activating his martial soul, he was still just as deadly with his odd thin sword.

His achievements during that time earned him the moniker The Prophet of Death. His ruthlessness and efficiency at killing with either the hammer or sword was a spectacle that always drew a crowd.

Many speculated who would win between the Emissary of Hell and the Prophet of Death but to their disappointment, they were never pitted against each other.

The Slaughter King was still unable to uncover whether or not the Prophet was sent by the other existing Death God or not so no actions were taken.

Over the year, Tang Zhen's body went through some changes from the physical exertion. He grew stronger very quickly even able to defeat the Soul Douluo level opponents easily due to his Thunder Body physique and his heinous spirit.

During this time, Bibi Dong watched all of his matches and he watched all of hers. They occasionally noticed the other staring but said nothing to keep their appearances.

A few months later, both finally were at 99 victories. With the final battle on the line, the crowd was even larger.

Tang Zhen stood at in the arena with his arms crossed. The opponents were once again all high level Soul Douluo level opponents trying to stop him.

As they charged, Tang Zhen drew his sword blocking one attack and swinging his sword to retaliate killing one instantly.

He then drew his hammer with his other hand and in a masterful and almost art like display, he killed his opponents using both weapons.

Only one remained, focusing his attention on his last target, Tang Zhen's heinous spirit felt oppressive for the last fodder.

The final opponent unleashed his Meteor Continuous Hammer and swung it at Tang Zhen who channeled his heinous spirit into his sword before throwing it.

The sword instantly shattered the hammer striking the last opponent. Everything was done so fast that the only thing left on the field was a gigantic ice dragon.

The crowd went wild as he stood there victorious.

"Congratulations to the Prophet of Death for winning 100 battles in the Slaughter Arena. Emissary oh Hell, please."

As the crowd stood there in reverence of the Slaughter King's Presence a sound of heels clicking on the ground was heard as Bibi Dong walked up next to Tang Zhen.

Bibi Dong glanced at Tang Zhen recalling their latest conversation.

Tang Zhen admitted that he had no animosity towards the Martial Soul Hall but he could not forgive Ju Douluo or Ghost Douluo for the ambush that happened.

Most importantly, to her at least, was that Tang Zhen did not harbor ill intent towards her.

Upon asking Tang Zhen to join the Martial Soul Hall, he declined. He already had plans to create his own force.

Although reluctant, Bibi Dong let it go.

The Slaughter King approached and offered them the Title of Death God without having to go through Hell Road, which both flatly refused, irking him.

Having no choice, the Slaughter King opened up the path to Hell Road sacrificing everyone in the arena.

As they entered, Bibi Dong and Tang Zhen looked at each other. They took a little time to talk.

Tang Zhen explained that the deeper they go, the more the temperature and the heinous spirit will be harder to control.

Thankfully, Tang Zhen had the cheat code of having his Seraphic Thunder Wings.

He took the opportunity to scoop Bibi Dong into his arms causing her to squeak.

"T-T-Tang Zhen, you s-scumbag! Put me down right now!" She stuttered with a blush.

Tang Zhen chuckled before blue wings of Thunder formed and they flew ahead.

Bibi Dong could do nothing but hold on. Even in this hellscape, she couldn't help but get lost in thought. Why did she feel so comfortable around him? Why did she feel so safe? What was it about him that drew her to him?

As she asked herself these questions, she suddenly felt him stiffen as he increased his speed.

Looking behind him, Bibi Dong saw a bunch of bats that were chasing them. But her vision started to blur.

Tang Zhen seeing this told activated his Susanoo which provided protection from the influence of the Nether.

"I need you to meditate to calm yourself. It'll get harder to resist."

Keeping them encased in the Susanoo's protection, they outran the bats before a three headed bat monster arrived.

Tang Zhen channeled his Haotian Hammer as the Susanoo reached out grabbing the bat with its left hand and brought down the hammer on all three heads.

As they headed deeper, Tang Zhen kept his eye out for the last threat and sure enough the Ten Headed Fierce Yang Serpent with a punch of red spots on its body emerged slithering up a pillar before it lunged at them.

Tang Zhen channeled the Tunder of Destruction into the Haotian Hammer and swung it at the serpent at full strength vaporizing it on the spot leaving nothing but the neidan.

Grabbing it, Tang Zhen wasted no time in heading towards the exit. Before leaving he smirked.

"I better make sure that Tang San and Tang Hao come only to be bewildered that Slaughter City no longer exists." Tang Zhen then dropped the Snow Swan Kiss into the Nether and flew out.

When they both came out, the cool night breeze was a welcome feeling. Calculating the time, they still had a few months before Ghost Douluo came to pick up Bibi Dong. He flew across the sky as Bibi Dong opened her eyes.

The breeze felt good after spending the year and the few months she has been in Slaughter City. Seeing the moon, it was so big that she felt that she could reach out and grab it.

Enjoying the comfortable silence, they landed in a secluded part of the forest.

Bibi Dong and Tang Zhen suddenly felt cold. Both sat down to meditate and condense their heinous spirit. Soon both could feel the Death God Domain form.

Both domains clashed with each other as they were released.

Tang Zhen released his Haotain Hammer in his palm and saw the markings of the Death God imprinted on it.

Suddenly they both felt their heinous spirit running out of control. Unlike Tang San and Hu Liena, Bibi Dong and Tang Zhen completed the 100 battles faster with less breaks which made the negative effects of the heinous spirit accumulate faster.

Tang Zhen pulled out two Soul Cleansing Pills and offered one to Bibi Dong.

"This will help cleanse the soul of any impurities and strengthen your soul's strength."

The system must have known his thoughts about his plans going to Slaughter City and prepared the strengthened Soul Cleansing Pills that can help with the heinous spirit in advance when he broke through to level 70 before.

Both of them took the pill and started to absorb it. The negative affects of the heinous spirit dissipated slowly.

Bibi Dong opened her eyes after absorbing the pill and noticed that morning had already arrived. She looked around to see Tang Zhen by a fire stirring something and walked up to him.

"How do you feel?" He asked suddenly.

"Much better, thank you." Bibi Dong said.

"Here. I made some soup for breakfast." Tang Zhen handed her a bowl and they both ate.

"What do you plan to do now?" Tang Zhen asked.

"I don't know. I came out of Slaughter City much sooner than I thought I would. I guess I will head back to Spirit City." Bibi Dong said staring at her hands in her lap.

"Bibi Dong, can I ask you a question?"

"Mhm."

"What do you want to do? I am not asking Bibi Dong a member of Soul Hall's Golden Generation. I am asking Bibi Dong the girl."

Bibi Dong sat there in silence. She doesn't remember the last time she thought of anything else other than getting stronger so that she could be in a leadership position next to her teacher. But what was after that? Was her whole life going to revolve around the Soul Hall?

"I….Don't know. I haven't really thought about what I want. It's always been about the Soul Hall, my teacher, and surviving with my brother." Bibi Dong Said quietly.

"When was the last time you left Spirit City aside from official business?"

"I haven't. I've always been training with teacher or out on missions with my brother and Yan for the Soul Hall."

Tang Zhen then grabbed her hand and pulled her up.

"Then lets go." He said.

"Go where?" Bibi Dong was confused.

"You'll see." Tang Zhen and Bibi Dong left for Rising Dragon City.

When they arrived it looked like they were getting ready for some kind of festival. Bibi Dong hoping to not get noticed, put a veil over her face.

As they walked through the streets, traders and all other kinds of vendors were getting prepared.

They ate, talked, watched performances, and went shopping.

Tang Zhen bought a bracelet and a new pair of shoes/heels considering her old ones were destroyed after being used in Slaughter City for so long.

Bibi Dong has always received gifts from men that wanted to pursue her but she rejected them all. Even Yan her teammate has been relentlessly pursuing her but she turned him down as well. More gently than the others of course. She just considers him as a good friend.

Tang Zhen was different for her though. Ever since they met, he was somehow always on her mind. When she received the gifts, a smile formed on her face.

As the night went on, Tang Zhen and Bibi Dong just enjoyed the relaxing and happy atmosphere of the town. Adults were laughing and drinking, the kids were running and playing with smiles on their faces.

All of a sudden music started playing and a bunch of children ran over to her.

"Pretty big sister, come dance with us!" One of them asked and the others chimed in.

"Yeah!"

"Oh and how do you know that this big sister is pretty?" Bibi Dong asked with amusement.

"I don't know but we know you are. We can tell." Another said with an innocence that only a young child could display that made her heart warm.

"Hahaha you are right kids. This big sister is very pretty. It'll be hard to find another like her around." Tang Zhen suddenly chimed in.

Bibi Dong hearing this only blushed before they urged her to join them again even pulling her hand.

Bibi Dong smiled under her veil and nodded joining them. She looked over to see Tang Zhen clapping as she and the people danced together.

After she got tired, she joined Tang Zhen again.

"Did you have fun?" He asked chuckling.

"Mhm it was fun." She said enthusiastically.

They continued to watch everyone for a while longer before Bibi Dong thought of something.

She noticed that although Tang Zhen asked her what she wanted to do, she never got to ask him.

"Tang Zhen. I wanted to ask you. What do you want to do?" She asked softly.

Tang Zhen turned to look at her. Even with the veil, she was elegant. Staring into her eyes, he "smiled" as his eyes closed.

"I want to protect the ones that I love. But not only that, I also want to protect them." Tang Zhen said pointing at the children.

"Look at how happy they are. Look at how innocent they are. They don't know how horrible the world is yet. We were trained at a young age to be soul masters but what about them? Those not fortunate enough to be born with powerful martial souls or with innate soul power." Tang Zhen turned to look at Bibi Dong who seemed to be lost in thought and continued.

"I have a grudge against both my parents' clans but that does not mean that all of them are guilty. Nor will I let that grudge turn into full blown revenge. I will fight them eventually but I will not lose myself and throw away the people I care about in the process."

Bibi Dong listened admiring his determination.

"I want to protect the common folk and make sure they can live without fear. To do that, I have to be strong enough to fight all the powers in the world." Tang Zhen said.

"I hope someday you can find an answer to what you want. You are a kind girl that has had a lot of expectations thrust onto you since you were young. When you find your own path I hope that I'll be there to see it. I know it will be incredible." Tang Zhen said softly.

Bibi Dong's eyes moistened as she heard him. She didn't even know him that well and were even opponents at one point. Yet here he was saying that he believed in her. It was the first time someone treated her like a normal girl, not the Holy Maiden of the Martial Soul Hall.

The festival died down and they went to an inn for the night.

Tang Zhen tired from his journey fell asleep immediately.

In another room, there was a restless girl. Bibi Dong couldn't sleep, her mind was in tumoil. Today was the happiest she had ever been and the person she was with wasn't her brother or her teacher whom she loved like a mother.

She thought about how she was raised in the Martial Soul Hall with her brother ever since their Martial Soul awakening. How everyone treated her with kindness and respect. But that was not out of genuine feelings. It was out of fear of her teacher.

Her thoughts wandered to the boy- no, man in the next room. He helped her get through Hells Road, brought her to this city to an experience of a life time, bought her lots of new foods, and bought her gifts. Bibi Dong stared at the bracelet Tang Zhen got her.

After a long while, she finally fell asleep into a world of dreams. Dreams of a future filled with possibilities and happiness.
