Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Was I Wrong?
"Mechas are wearable weapons for ordinary people. On the surface, they may seem vastly different from battle armor, but you need to understand— not everyone can become a Soul Master. For ordinary people, piloting a mecha is like how Soul Masters use battle armor."
"Currently, battle armor is divided into four levels: One-word Battle Armor Master, Two-word, Three-word, and Four-word Battle Armor Masters."
"Strictly speaking, one-word battle armor is just the embryonic form of true battle armor. Only when you reach the level of a two-word Battle Armor Master can you truly fuse your battle armor with your life and spirit, making it a part of your very soul and martial spirit. So when crafting battle armor, the first step is to integrate it with your martial spirit, generating resonance. That resonance will eventually attract and merge it into your spirit itself. Only then can the equipment truly amplify your soul power."
"As I said earlier, there are four levels of battle armor. Though it sounds like just a few ranks, the gap between each is massive. If you wish to become a Battle Armor Master, you must have a secondary profession related to battle armor. The most effective paths currently are mecha design and mecha manufacturing. Designing your own mecha—or rather, your own battle armor—ensures compatibility with your martial spirit. After all, who understands your spirit better than yourself? Meanwhile, mecha manufacturing enables you to personally engrave core arrays and soul guidance circuits, making the fusion easier and more stable. These are your best options."
"Of course, there are other paths like forging and mecha maintenance. Forging is by far the hardest to get started in. Mecha maintenance, while easier at first, helps improve armor integration later on."
"No one can master forging, mecha design, and manufacturing all at once. If you think you're that gifted and want to learn everything, maybe you should just become a soul engineer or scientist. If not—then focus. From now on, you'll either earn enough contribution points to hire others for help, or build strong relationships with your classmates. Social connections are part of your strength, too."
"The strength of your battle armor is determined by how well it fits with you. With perfect compatibility, battle armor can boost your strength by the equivalent of twenty soul levels."
"To even qualify as a one-word Battle Armor Master, you need at least rank 50 soul power, a third-level secondary profession, and access to thousand-refined rare metals. There are exceptions, of course. If you're confident, you can attempt crafting early. But even then, a master designer must complete the design, and a master manufacturer must handle the crafting. Your battle armor must have a compatibility rate of over sixty percent and consist of at least nine components to be considered complete."
That morning's class didn't even have a break and continued until noon...
"Old Tang, why did you lie to me?" Tang Wulin's voice was filled with gloom. He had trusted Old Tang so deeply!
In front of him stretched a vast plain, endless blue silver grass glowing faintly, filling the air with their distinct, familiar scent.
A blue-clothed figure with flowing hair stood in the distance. He seemed close yet somehow unreachable.
The color blue often conveyed a sense of warmth and calm. But at this moment, Tang Wulin no longer felt that way. Instead, he was filled with confusion and frustration. That spirit bone had been fake—completely virtual and impossible to absorb. Even if he had absorbed it, he couldn't take it with him into the real world.
"Wulin, the world changes in countless ways. Even the strongest people must accept it sometimes. What's real, what's false… they're like two worlds. If there's a bridge between them, they can be switched. Gu You possesses such an ability. I may not be as gifted as he is, but I was still able to transfer a fragment of fate's power to you. I wasn't lying. Your Golden Dragon King seal—this gift increases your odds of unsealing it by at least twenty percent."
Tang Wulin laughed bitterly. "My parents are still waiting for me. Gu You has the means to help me find them. If he truly can help me find them, I don't want to walk the path of a Soul Master anymore. Once I find my sister, I'll live a normal life."
"I warned you not to get close to him in the first place." Old Tang's voice trembled slightly when the word 'parents' came up.
"Enough. If it weren't for you, the Golden Dragon King's seal wouldn't have appeared in me at all. Still, I appreciate what you've done. You've helped me more than once." Tang Wulin looked up at the false sky, which slowly began to darken until everything faded from view.
'Was I wrong?' Old Tang asked himself, staring at his own hands in confusion.
At lunch, Gu You once again exchanged several spirit-forged metal ores for contribution points. The staff in charge of the exchange center were dumbfounded. Spirit-forged ores were incredibly rare, and this boy—barely into his teens—had submitted more than most experts see in a lifetime.
"Kid, where did you even get ores of this level?" one staff member asked curiously.
"Where else? If I had a secret supply, why would I even bother learning forging? Obviously I made them myself!" Gu You replied with a slightly annoyed tone.
The staff member blinked. The school uniform clearly marked Gu You as a first-year. A first-year… and already a fifth-rank blacksmith? That had to be a new record.
While past prodigies had occasionally reached fifth rank in design or manufacturing at this age, blacksmithing was a different story altogether. It was widely regarded as the hardest secondary profession. To reach that level so young—Gu You was in a class of his own.
Gu You transferred some of his contribution points to Gu Yue's card, as well as to Xie Xie and Xu Xiaoyan. It would be enough to let them all eat gourmet meals for days.
As for himself? He didn't need it. Though his blood energy required a tremendous amount of nourishment, he wasn't lacking in power—he had divine strength. He couldn't starve. What he lacked was vitality. Divine energy alone wasn't enough. Even though it contained the essence of longevity, he couldn't refine it on his own.
He could use Destruction Force to purify divine energy when giving it to others—retaining only the longevity essence. But when using his own divine energy? It was drawn from his own body. Using Destruction Force like that would be like hurting himself to help himself. Not worth it.
"You can spirit-forge?" A deep voice sounded behind him.
"Of course," Gu You replied casually, turning his head.
Walking toward him was a pair of…
