Double Jade's fate

Yan Rui watch in terror. He doge the in coming arrows and run toward the spot that she have fallen. The sweat beads roll down on this face mixed with t blood. She won't die, he is sure of it. The place she fallen is a hill. She might have roll down. He look around to see if he can spot the red bits of the uniform. Fortunately he hear a a growl, he finds her laying on amount the tall grass. An arrow had pierce through her left shoulder. "Tang Li." She hear her name and open her eyes to see a blooded man. She smile and said weakly "Not a good day to die. Don't worry. Go help the rest. I'm going to lay here for awhile." Yan Rui look up to see his comrades are still struggling to hold back the onslaught and seems like new attackers are joining. Yan Rui is in a hurry. The Tang flag is waving above. "Tell the banner man to go. Ride to the capital as fast as he can. Get Man Chun to lead the way. Hurry.."

Yan Rui understands that Tang Li is asking the banner man to go and get help. He climb up and see the banner man is struggling to keep the flag up and Man Chun is far across the other side. Once he is up on flat road, he start to assist the solider with the flag. "Tang Li ask you to go. Bring the flag to the capital. Man Chun to lead. Go now! I hold them back!" He charge with the remaining strength and dash. While slashing he turn around to see the solider got himself a horse with Chun Man. The distance to capital is not very far with the speed of the horse, they have to hold on for at least two to four hours. They cannot abandon the ores, it will be capital punishment. The only way is to fight. He try to fight as much as his strength can hold. Suddenly he remember there is a smoke signal on the horse. He can't remember which one, he need to find it. He search through the horses in front of him. A fellow nobleman name Zhen Bang Hui come running 

"What are you doing?! We need help!"

"I am trying to find the smoke signal . Do you know which horse is it on?"

Bang Hui have a confused look as if he is trying to think. 

"It ...it's on ... a horse with the red saddle!"

Together they search for the red saddle while yelling to the rest to hold on. If they can get the smoke signal up, the soldiers in camp will see and they are the nearest to where they are at. They will come faster than those in the capital. The red saddle is not where to be found. Both of them are perspiring like crazy. Every minutes count yet they can't find it. No choice Bang Hui continue on attacking while Yan Rui keep looking. There must be another fire signal somewhere. "Yan Rui... "

He hear his name called. He look and see a citizen who is injured on the ground. He help him to sit up. That man point to the wagon and look gravely to him. He understood and try to get there without being slaughter in front. However arrows are shooting fast he need to doge incoming and search the wagon. He find it on the ground with the Tang emblem design on it and fire it up. The color of the purple and black smoke shot up high with a piercing sound. He hope that the guard in the tower will spot it. Just then he feel pain in his back. He turn around to block the second slash. He cannot fail he have to go home and see his father and bring Tang Li home too. With a new found faith and determination, he managed to defend himself. He look for bow and arrow and shot in a distance. He see Tang Li have crawl out from the hill drop. She is dripping blood yet she managed to stand up. With her right arm she swings the sword she find on the ground. "I am not going to let you win!!!" She scream and attack. While Yan Rui keep shooting the attackers and move closer to her. 

Somehow the attackers are never-ending. Tang Li's soldiers are getting weaker by the minute. She see the wagons are moving off by them, she rush up to stop them. Yan Rui follow her. He equip with a sword that he pick up and bow is swing over his body just incase he needs it. She try with all her remaining strength to stop the wagon moving by killing the driver. While Yan Rui try his best to get rid of the incoming.

Suddenly out of no where, fierce soldiers with silver masks come riding in, they are carrying the flag of Su. Behind are her own men who saw the smoke signal.

Duke Su who happen is at the outskirt training his new generals when he sae Man Chun riding towards the capital in full speed. Without asking, he told his steward to catch up with Man Chun and mobilise his troops for assistance at the same time he saw the smoke signal in the sky with the loud piercing sound with the smoke color he confirm that Tang Li needs help. Along the way there, he met up with Tang Li's remaining men, together they ride as fast they can. 

Tang Li who see this she is fill with happiness. With her last remaining strength she strangle another driver. She stands up and See Yan Rui had collapsed and about to be stab. She jump from where she is and kick the attacker aside. She landed next to Yan Rui. She look at the pitiful troublemaker. "You ... a... Xian Wen." She close her eyes. 

It takes two weeks for Yan Rui to get up from bed. He is dizzy and he can't talk well. He was send back home three days later after sent to camp from attack site. He remember the fight, the wagons of ores, Tang Li fallen and bleeding. The maid who bring in the medicine see him awake run out to find the old master. 

Tang Li wakes up on her own bed in her own mansion. It has been nearly a month. Her wounds are deep. A surgery is done to remove the embedded arrow head. Plus she had loss too much blood. Thus her healing is slow. Her old butler and grand uncle are in the mansion looking after her. Duke Su occasionally comes by to check on her. She is grateful for the men in her life.
