Chapter 30: Saiyou Manaka!
Her name is Saiyou Manaka, or she is also known as the 'Origin Princess'. She was born at the moment of connecting with the origin, possessing overwhelming magical power and talent, with strength on par with or even surpassing that of a Mage. She is one of the few beings, besides Ryougi Shiki, who is connected to the origin.
"Tamamo no Mae, it's all because of you, tangled and complicated. Forget the drama," Saiyou Manaka said to the air.
"Migu, Master, it's my first time participating in the Holy Grail War, why would I want to join the excitement? Besides, I'm a Caster, and you want me to charge forward?" A soft, seductive voice filled the air, as if from black beans and water spinach.
"Ah, this is indeed my first time," Saiyou Manaka raised her hand and looked at the red seal on the back of her hand, murmuring.
This was indeed her first time participating in the Holy Grail War. A few months ago, a seal had suddenly appeared on her back.
Because she was connected to the origin, she knew this was the entry spell for the Holy Grail War.
Being connected to the origin, she had already grown bored of certain external phenomena. So, she had no interest in other matters.
However, one day, within the origin, she met someone who would become unforgettable for the rest of her life.
Looking at the distant figure, with black hair and eyes like a handsome young man, Saiyou Manaka's heart beat violently, a strange sensation filling her.
When she searched again, the man was already gone.
Though Saiyou Manaka was connected to the origin, she could not find out where the man was. She only knew of his existence.
But Saiyou Manaka did not give up; she was determined to find the prince in her heart.
Then, the seal appeared, and she knew her prince might also participate in the Holy Grail War.
Saiyou Manaka directly left the Saiyou house and headed for Fuyuki City, to find her prince.
"The Holy Grail War hasn't even started yet, wait until then and you'll see the excitement," came another voice.
"Truly useless servant," said Saiyou Manaka, mockingly.
Then, with a warning tone, she continued: "You useless fox, when you see His Highness the Prince, don't speak recklessly. I warn you."
At that moment, a soft, graceful figure began to materialize in the air.
She wore a blue kimono, but her large chest was barely covered, hinting at something dangerous underneath.
Her pink hair was tied with a large blue flower, and from her head, fluffy yellow fox ears peeked out.
A tail swayed casually behind her. She was the summoned servant—Caster, Tamamo no Mae.
Tamamo no Mae had always desired to become a kind and gentle wife, a priestess of the fox deity. In the late Heian period, she was a beautiful woman who served the Emperor, a legendary figure said to be the reincarnation of a nine-tailed fox with white skin and golden hair.
"Master, are you sure your Prince will participate in the Holy Grail War?" Tamamo no Mae asked, her big eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at Saiyou Manaka. She was quite intrigued by how obsessed her strong Master was.
"Of course, even though I cannot pinpoint his exact location through the origin, I am certain he will appear in this Holy Grail War," Saiyou Manaka's face flushed slightly, recalling the figure she had seen within the origin, her expression gradually becoming dreamy.
Seeing this, Tamamo no Mae shook her head. After spending these days together, she had become accustomed to seeing Manaka like this. Clearly, she was a girl deeply in love.
Then, a mischievous gleam appeared in Tamamo no Mae's eyes. She gently blew into Manaka's ear and spoke.
"Migu, Master, actually, men prefer my body type," Tamamo no Mae teased. The large chest armor couldn't help but tremble.
Then, she glanced at Manaka's figure, her eyes flashing with a hint of provocation.
After hearing this, Manaka looked at Tamamo no Mae, her eyes narrowing as she saw her trembling chest armor. She also noticed the smug expression on Tamamo no Mae's face.
Manaka's face darkened, and she gritted her teeth, staring fiercely at Tamamo no Mae.
"You damn fox, be careful, or I'll tear you apart."
Manaka wasn't joking. As a being connected to the origin, her abilities were undoubtedly strong, especially with her mastery over Koujiro magic. She could very well tear apart a Servant with her hands.
Tamamo no Mae, knowing this, looked at Manaka's fierce expression and was a little scared.
"Migu, Master, I was just joking," Tamamo no Mae said cautiously.
"Forgive me, little fox."
Seeing that Tamamo no Mae was afraid, Manaka finally calmed down and lifted her chin.
"Tch, scaredy fox."
"Go on, no excitement to see. Let's head back."
Manaka didn't look back as she left the alley, heading towards the street, preparing to return to her base.
"Alright." Tamamo no Mae then dissipated into spiritual form. The alley once again returned to calm.
... ...
A man with black hair, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, walked along the street.
He was Emiya Kiritsugu, known in the outside world as the 'Magus Assassin'.
Being a Magus himself, he understood the ways of Magi well and had developed a disdain for them due to his merciless methods of assassination.
His reputation for 'killing opposing Magi' made him notorious.
Needless to say, he was similarly despised by the Mage's Association.
He was also participating in this Holy Grail War, and had arrived in Fuyuki several days ago.
Walking around the streets of Fuyuki, he was preparing for the Holy Grail War by studying the terrain.
While walking, he heard a commotion from the square and decided to check it out. He discovered a collapsed building.
Although he didn't see any other figures on the scene, he noticed traces of battle everywhere.
He knew these were signs of combat. And now, with the Holy Grail War about to begin, he was suspicious that someone had already started fighting.
But not finding any other figures, Emiya Kiritsugu could only dismiss it.
As he walked along the street, Emiya Kiritsugu couldn't help but recall his own life.
He thought of his father, of the painful yet somewhat relieving memories with his foster mother, and the complicated emotions they carried.
As long as he could obtain the Holy Grail and fulfill his wish, he could escape from this kind of life.
Thinking about this, Emiya Kiritsugu couldn't help but smile slightly.
At that moment, he noticed a short-haired girl in a yellow outfit across the street, looking like a cute little doll.
A flash of surprise appeared in Emiya Kiritsugu's eyes, and he murmured.
"How can I leave such a little girl to wander around at this hour?"
"Looks like I've been careless, treating her like family."
However, Emiya Kiritsugu didn't stop to investigate further.
The two of them briefly exchanged glances.
The little girl saw Emiya Kiritsugu and let out a silver bell-like laugh.
Seeing such an adorable girl, Emiya Kiritsugu couldn't help but imagine the future he hoped for—living quietly with his assistant, Hisau Maiya, in seclusion, and then having a daughter just like this cute little girl. A family, always together.
If I had a daughter, she'd probably grow up just like this, Emiya Kiritsugu thought.
He stared longingly at the little girl's back, but then suddenly noticed the fresh red symbol on the back of her hand.
His pupils contracted slightly, and his mouth opened slightly in shock.
This girl... is a participant in the Holy Grail War!
Instinctively, Emiya Kiritsugu reached for his weapon, the Origin Bullet-enhanced gun, and aimed it at the little girl's back.
But Emiya Kiritsugu didn't pull the trigger. It seemed that at this moment, he had lost the courage he once had.
He stared at the little girl's back, remembering her pure and innocent smile, reminiscing about the past, and the smile of his childhood friend.
No! For my ideal, I can only betray you, he thought, hesitating for a moment before making a firm decision. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, he found the little girl had already disappeared.
Emiya Kiritsugu lowered the gun and took a deep drag from his cigarette, as if sighing.
He truly didn't know that the little girl had already noticed his movements and, because of his hesitation, spared her life.
"Migu, Master, why didn't you deal with that person?" A soft, sweet voice reached the little girl's ear.
"Killing him so soon serves no purpose. Of course, it's better to leave things more lively," the little girl said, squinting her eyes.
... ...
Inside a small, narrow room, this was the rented room of Waver Velvet, a Magus from the Clock Tower.
At this moment, Waver was focusing on a magic circle, placing the corner of his Alexander cloak on it. He began the summoning ritual for his servant.
"Thy body shall be my servant; my fate shall be bound to your sword."
"In response to the Holy Grail's summoning, following this will, this principle, answer me!"
...
"Come forth, through the cycle of suppression! The Guardian of Libra!"
As the light of the magic circle intensified, a massive figure appeared.
Weber, seeing the summoning had succeeded, let out a joyful cry.
"Success!!!"
When the light dissipated, Weber saw a tall, muscular figure, extremely strong in appearance.
The figure had short, fiery red hair and a red beard that connected to the temples.
His eyebrows were thick and short, and his pupils were red.
He wore a red cotton cloak and had brown-red wristbands. Beneath, he wore brown battle armor, and a skirt-like battle garment. His feet were clad in leather sandals.
This was none other than the legendary Alexander the Great—Iskandar.
"Ah, little Master, you're full of spirit!" Iskandar boisterously patted Weber's shoulder.
"Rider-class Servant, Alexander the Great, Iskandar. I'll be in your care."
He casually began to inspect the room.
"Little Master, what's this? … Ah, and what is that?"
Iskandar, curious as a child, asked about this and that. Weber watched with a twitching mouth.
He sighed, wondering if having such a Servant was more of a blessing or a curse.
Meanwhile, at Fuyuki airport, two people had just disembarked from a flight. A handsome man and a quiet woman.
The two were the Lords from the Clock Tower, Animusphere Lord—Marisbury Animusphere and Archelot Lord—May Riddell Archelot.
The former had come to participate in the Holy Grail War, while the latter had a mission to investigate the 'Blood Servants' created by the Bloodsucking Demons.
Ume looked at Fuyuki airport with excitement in her eyes and said, "I didn't expect Lord Rizel would participate in the Holy Grail War. If the old man Shaku hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known."
Animusphere smiled at Ume's excitement. "Archelot, you came with a mission. Don't forget to investigate the Blood Servants, those transformed into bloodthirsty minions by the Bloodsucking Demons. I don't think we've reached that level here, so they can only be called 'Blood Servants' for now. You should focus on that, not just chasing after Lord Rizel."
"Tch, I think it's all related to the Holy Grail War. As long as I can stay near Lord Rizel, I'll be able to find what I'm looking for," Ume rolled her eyes.
"Animusphere, you're the one to be careful. If you participate in the Holy Grail War, watch out for Lord Rizel's wrath," Ume's eyes glinted with mischief.
Animusphere didn't care, shrugging as he replied, "There's also Kayneth. If I can't get through to him, I'll just pull him into the fray."
In the distance, Kayneth sneezed.
"Hehe, let's go, let's go. It's so late; let's find a hotel first. Tomorrow, we'll look for Lord Rizel," Ume cheerfully skipped off.
Animusphere shook his head and followed.
