Dominate the Super Bowl

Chapter 1031: 1030 Child of Storm

Thomas: Damn.

In his sight, Li Wei slightly altered his direction, slipping into a different spot. Where he once had a full view of Li Wei, now he could only see Li Wei's right side.

The alarm bells went off immediately.

So, was Li Wei planning to use Jefferson as cover to block Thomas, thus gaining an open field?

Thomas had two choices:

One was to loop around behind Jefferson, switch to his right side, and block Li Wei's attempt to break through from the other side.

The other was to speed up along Jefferson's left side, also using Jefferson as cover, circling behind Li Wei to make a tackle.

No time to hesitate, Thomas took a step forward.

With one large stride, he forcefully accelerated, overtaking on Jefferson's left side, charging towards Li Wei. Thomas' feet and hands whipped up a storm, bursting in an instant.

But then, Li Wei took advantage of the momentum, sidestepping to his left, which was Jefferson's right, narrowly skirting Thomas' flying tackle.

Unrelenting, Thomas twisted his body, his upper body lunging forward, hoping even if he couldn't tackle, he could disrupt Li Wei's balance through contact.

To his surprise, Li Wei then suddenly pivoted back, pulling his body back—

Charging straight at Thomas.

Thomas' forward momentum was too fierce. In the turbulence of inertia, he couldn't change direction and could only stare in disbelief at the figure in front of him, watching helplessly as the red storm slipped past his arm.

Goosebumps sprouted on his arm, hairs standing on end, shivers erupting uncontrollably.

Li Wei maneuvered past Thomas skillfully, sidestepped further to his right, nearly sliding along Jefferson's body.

Close enough to see Jefferson's face, stupefied in disbelief—

Jefferson thought it was just a change in direction, first intercepting to the left, then to the right, and finally switching back left again at the speed of light. The consecutive shifts left the burly strong safety outpaced, a surge of frustration and anger welled up.

Instinctively, a natural reaction, Jefferson thrust both hands forward.

Not caring about any impact or tackle, just pushing Li Wei down would suffice.

Abandoning tracking Li Wei's fluid movements, Jefferson irrationally and forcefully pushed forward, his weight inclined.

However, at this moment.

Li Wei unbelievably spun counterclockwise through the gap between Jefferson and Thomas, defying logic, switching to Jefferson's left side, and then darting forward.

In the next second, Jefferson's hands pushed... Thomas.

Thomas watched in shock as a shadow fell towards him.

The two tumbled together.

Li Wei had already escaped unscathed.

In description, it felt long, yet it all happened in the blink of an eye. After feinting, Li Wei sprinted in an S-curve, astonishingly tearing open a gap amid chaos.

His steps, smooth.

His form, light.

Then, Li Wei had broken free.

Wait!

Humphrey!

Li Wei hadn't a moment to catch his breath when the muscles in his right shoulder and arm tensed completely, and a dark shadow came hurtling in.

No time to adjust, Li Wei continued forward with inertia.

Humphrey's left hand already rested on Li Wei's shoulder, but as Li Wei started running, Humphrey persistently held onto Li Wei's shoulder, trying to exert force.

Digging in, sprinting, neck and neck.

Humphrey's speed had reached its peak and couldn't accelerate further. Li Wei's speed was just picking up, needing space to accelerate, resulting in a dynamic grapple as both charged forward relentlessly.

Thirty-five-yard line, Humphrey attempted to gain leverage, trying to drag Li Wei with his fingertips.

Forty-yard line, realizing that Li Wei was slipping away from his grasp, there was no time for hesitance. With a deep breath, Humphrey dug in and lunged forward, hurling himself in hopes of making a flying tackle.

Bam!

Humphrey successfully collided with Li Wei's back.

Li Wei stumbled, lunging forward.

Amid the adversity and chaos, Li Wei's steps gripped onto the ground, pushing off repeatedly amidst the storm, struggling to reclaim his balance.

Ah, ah, ah-ah... ah-ah-ah!

Strength, released bit by bit, surged from knee and calf into his footsteps, regaining equilibrium through the simple movement of digging in.

At forty-five-yard line, Humphrey, now face down, lifted his head to watch Li Wei's unsteady gait, which miraculously managed to stay upright, leveraging the left hand on the ground unbelievably to avoid falling.

Damn!

Ignoring the pain, Humphrey scrabbled to his feet quickly, even before stabilizing, gritting his teeth and chasing after Li Wei at full speed.

Close.

Even closer.

Then, amidst the chaos and bumpiness, Li Wei was back on track.

He slipped away like a streak of red light from Humphrey's fingertips.

Fifty-yard line.

Li Wei, sprinting at full throttle.

Although Humphrey still pursued stubbornly, he knew he had missed his chance, helplessly watching Li Wei run faster, widening the gap, visibly leaving the black tide behind.

Crossing midfield, Li Wei turned into a red streak, sprinting at full speed.

That figure, those steps, accelerated the heartbeat of every spectator.

Forty-yard line!

Thirty-yard line!

A surge of passion boiled, roared towards their heart, standing up uncontrollably, even on tiptoe.

Twenty-yard line!

Ten-yard line!

The wind resounding, that red figure without a helmet, one could see the storm sliding through his hair, ripples stirred in Arrowhead Stadium, his refined and handsome face capturing the gaze amidst the red and black, pinning the world beneath his feet.

A scream, bubbling in the throat, yet unable to produce any sound, only watching that figure in astounded excitement, as if running alongside, casting away all troubles, pains, and constraints, soaring freely and unrestrained.

Five-yard line!

End zone!

Leaving dust behind, slicing through with a sword.

Then, the number 23 stood in the end zone, looked up at the red tide engulfing the stadium.

Without reservation, a smile blossomed at the corner of his mouth.

For the first time!

Talia Ryder, for the first time, clearly saw Li Wei's face in the live broadcast on TV, especially the face after a touchdown achieved with a relentless run.

Dripping with sweat, eyes bright, the confidence and dominance emanating from within shone brilliantly under the sun, leaving the Sun itself overshadowed.

Unconsciously, Talia held her breath.

The commentator's ecstatic shout resonated from the TV.

"Touuuuuuch.....down!"

The words, like a curse, finally opened the floodgates, plunging the world into frenzy, thunderous cries, and screams showered down in an instant, transforming into a unified chant in mere seconds.

Listen, they are chanting the Child of Storm's name.

"Li Wei!"

"Li Wei!"

"Li Wei!"

The entire world spun, the wildly thumping hearts burst open.
