Dimensional Quest: I Got Reincarnated Into My Trashy Fanfic

After a day filled with pain and good conversation with cute girls from other worlds, David suddenly felt everything stop.

He was enduring the pain for around five hours after the girls all went to bed, but he didn't complain.

Cayna, Kaede, and Kuroneko had actually tried arguing with David to allow them to continue talking with him, but he told them that they needed to sleep and he'd be fine after a while.

They reluctantly agreed and left David to endure the pain as punishment for his actions. Well, at least that's how he looked at it.

Before his internal alarm clock could even ring, the pain completely washed away as if it had never even existed.

He could taste the fresh air being sucked in around him, he could see the rising sun shine into his bedroom, he could hear the soft breathing of the sleeping women surrounding him, he could smell a calming fragrance beside him, and he could feel an unfamiliar pair of breasts on his right arm and a strange hand on his chest.

David was wide awake and despite his previous exhaustion, he felt extremely refreshed. Just as Chaos-chan had told him, he felt better than ever.

He looked over to his left and saw Marin hugging his arm, Tomoe hugging his leg, and Sofia resting by his foot. Above his head was a snoozing black cat. On his right, he saw a dark pink-haired woman at the foot of the bed, Mio on his leg, and a blue-haired beauty hanging on to his right arm with her hand on his chest.

⟪ Whoa... So this is what Aki Nijou looks like in real life...? ⟫

David immediately felt the blood rush to his lower body, but when he thought about controlling himself, the blood flowing had stopped and redirected itself, keeping himself from showing off his impressive little brother to two strangers.

He closed his eyes to focus on the inside of his body and see what just happened.

'You there, Chibi? What the hell was that?'

[Tch... I'm here. Your body has been upgraded: your physical strength and resilience have increased and you have gained complete control over your bodily functions.]

'...So like, I can stop my heart if I want to?'

[I mean, you can, but... Why would you want to?]

'Just wondering. That boner control was pure instinct, but I'll probably try practicing with bodily control sometime in the future. It sounds cool, but I don't really have a use for it at the moment. The increased strength is always nice though, how much stronger did I get?'

[Hmm... You still can't beat Komoe in an arm-wrestling match, but you wouldn't lose an arm either.]

'Damn, considering she has the power of Saitama from One Punch Man, that's rather impressive. How about the improved resilience?'

[Just with your bare body alone without any spells or enchantments, you're bullet proof and normal cold weapons can't harm you by themselves. If Renji Abarai used his Zanpakutou to try and saw through your shoulder, it'd just scratch you.]

'Whoa... That's sick, heheh. Since that growth had something to do with the seals, does that mean I can manipulate Chaotic Elements more easily now?'

[Not exactly. This evolution was more like something that only affects your physical body and doesn't increase your understanding or prowess with the existing Chaotic Elements you've been given access to, nor does it give access to new ones.]

'Aww... Lame...'

[Oh shut up, it's not like you do that much with them anyway. Your combat power keeps increasing, but you hardly ever use it.]

'Hey, I used my combat prowess on my Dimensional Quest!'

[Barely! I was honestly expecting more action, but it was mostly you just walking and creating spells to torture people! That's not fun!]

'Meh, at least I won't have to focus on torture spells next time, right?'

[I wanted to see some action...]

'...? Why does everyone want action? First it was Katsuragi and then it spread to Marin. I prefer just relaxing with my family, okay?'

[See? Marin wants to see some action, too! Are you going to ignore her?]

'Hey now, that's not fair. I already told her I'd let her watch a boss fight sometime, right?'

[I think you should let her go experience a Challenge Zone so she can test out her powers. Either that or go with her to hunt for some Hollows after school today.]

'Hmm, that's probably a good idea. I could go with her after school...eh? School? Shit, today's Monday?!'

David shot his eyes open again and moved his right hand to reflexively take his phone out of his pocket, but forgot he was completely naked and his arms were immobilized.

His movement woke up the beauty that was asleep on his right.

Aki groggily opened her eyes and stretched, lifting her arms above her head and pushing her breasts up even further against David's arm before she let her hand fall back to his chest.

The grogginess immediately vanished from Aki's face, though her eyes still looked cute and tired.

She looked down at David and--noticing her position--blushed furiously before pulling her hand and breasts away.

"Good morning, beautiful. I don't mean to be rude, but what are you doing in my bed? I find it hard to believe my wives would allow a complete stranger to hug me to sleep," David asked with his charming smile, causing Aki to feel a little hot.

"Ahem, um, good morning, David-kun. It seems I fell asleep while I was healing you yesterday," Aki said with an embarrassed expression.

David feigned surprise, "Eh? Healing? I was wondering why I periodically felt more comfortable yesterday. Thank you, um... I'm sorry, might I ask your name?"

Having been briefed by the other girls yesterday, Aki was already expecting David to play dumb so she just smiled gently and said, "My name is Aki Nijou, school nurse of the Tenbi School in Hoshinoumi Academy."

David's eyes widened slightly.

⟪ So Tenbi Academy became the Tenbi School... Huh... ⟫

"I see. Not that I'm complaining in any way, but do school nurses typically heal their potential students all day and sleep with them afterward?"

Aki's face became red once more as she backed away further and sat up straight. She realized how intimate it looked with them laying down and facing each other less than a meter away.

"N-No, this is the first time this has happened, David-kun."

"Hmm, well that's good. It's a relief to know that I'm your first, Aki-sensei~," David teased, gently breaking free from the clutches of the other women without waking them and moving slowly toward Aki.

"D-David-kun, w-what are you doing?" Aki whisper-yelled, feeling more flustered the closer David got.

David just smirked and as he got close enough to Aki to where they could feel each other's breaths, he swiftly moved past her and hopped out of bed, landing in front of his wardrobe.

"Just getting up to change clothes, that's all. I don't want to make you uncomfortable with my naked body after all," David said as he gestured to his own body as if showing off, pausing around his lower body longer than necessary to allow Aki a longer look.

*gulp*

Aki swallowed her saliva as she looked at the dragon hanging from David's groin, mentally noting that it looked much more impressive when he was awake and moving rather than stuck in bed and in pain.

⟪ Heheh, that's enough teasing Aki-sensei for one morning. Gotta prepare for the first day of school! ⟫

Looking around, David spotted the clothes he last remembered wearing and picked them up.

He took out his smartphone and saw that it was 5:10 AM.

'Huh, earlier than I thought it'd be. The other girls must be really tired if even my inner voice isn't waking them up.'

David smiled as he looked at the women on his bed. While a few of them didn't really belong, it still made David happy to see that people cared about him.

Of course, some of them were only in there because they were either told to or because they were monitoring David, but he didn't need to know that.

"Alright, I don't mean to be rude or brush you off, but I'm not exactly sure what's going on right now so I'd prefer to just go about my usual routine. If you're not here by the time I get back from the gym, we'll just have to meet some other time. However, if you do happen to be here when I get back, I'll cook you breakfast."

Choosing exercise over an extremely beautiful woman, David waved and walked off to go to the gym on the 1st floor.

"..."

Aki sat on the edge of the bed in bewilderment.

"You staying for breakfast, Aki-chan?" a voice called from the foot of the bed.

Aki turned her head to see Minori slowly opening her eyes and stretching, showing off her I-cup breasts without a care in the world.

"How long were you awake?" Aki asked quietly, afraid that she had been seen being flirted with.

"Long enough to see you getting flustered over one of your students, heheh."

"I wasn't f-flustered, he just took me by surprise is all. I knew he wasn't going to do anything!"

"Shhh, keep it down. The others are still sleeping, though how they didn't wake up to David's voice is beyond me. That thing just rings in your head like an alarm clock at times..."

"They are probably exhausted from all the stress they accumulated yesterday so I don't blame them," Aki explained as she scanned the sleeping girls.

"How are you awake this early then?" Minori asked.

"It was only some energy being drained from me, that's it. Quick naps will fix me right up, but these girls had both their energy and emotions drained."

Minori nodded, "I see. So, repeating my previous question, are you planning to stay for breakfast?"

"Um... I should probably check him when he gets back to make sure that there are no injuries...," Aki said, trying to convince herself more than Minori.

"Uh-huh... I'll stay with you for a bit, but we need to leave before 8:00. The opening ceremony starts at 9:00 and it takes 45 minutes just to get to the campus from here. I don't mind showing up just before it starts, but if Dean Koumoto sees us coming late... ugh, I don't even wanna think about it."

The image of a smiling pink-haired girl flashed through Aki's mind at Minori's words.

"...Okay, we won't stay for long...," Aki said sheepishly, also not wishing to upset the academy's dean.

The last time they were late to a meeting--which was Minori's fault, by the way--Dean Koumoto made them run around town for the whole day and buy out multiple shops' candy supply.

Their spirits and wallets had been emptied that day...

The gym in Roselia Heights was not as empty as it was on previous days.

Despite it being just past 5:00 AM on the day of the opening ceremony at Hoshinoumi Academy, there were still a few students who wanted to get an early start to their day with some exercise.

David scanned his keycard and walked through the turnstiles, only to be greeted with gazes from multiple girls.

⟪ Dammit, I left Aki-sensei in my bed because I needed to do my daily workout and didn't want to get distracted by her beauty and start flirting with her. Now, I'm greeted by even more beautiful girls in the gym? Maybe if I don't acknowledge their stares, they'll forget that I exist... Mm, good idea. Heheheh, who said I needed to be in 'Smart David' mode to think of good ideas? ⟫

[Girls in the gym] '...'

Yeah, nobody thought that David's idea was 'good' by anyone's standards. His looks could easily cause the coldest woman alive to take a second glance at him.

As David was walking to the indoor track in the back of the gym, he noticed something rather odd.

⟪ I know I'm in a world filled with anime characters, but why is everyone's hair such a crazy color? There's a girl with light blue hair, dark blue hair, white hair, and two--count 'em, TWO!--girls with pink hair. And they're all... dammit, I know all of them, too. ⟫

David successfully ignored all of the girls and started his morning run on the track. Of course, he would've greeted anyone who spoke to him, but they all kept to themselves so he didn't have to bother.

⟪ Shinmai Maou no Testament, High School DxD, Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie, and The Quintessential Quintuplets... Four franchises all gathered together for a morning workout... I already knew Akeno was living here and saw Rias Gremory's name on her suite's nameplate, but I didn't expect to see Koneko here. Her entire stature and expression is too cute for me, I definitely can't look at her for more than a few seconds before I start getting the urge to pet her. Is it because she's a nekomata? Who knows... ⟫

The white-haired girl hitting the punching bag off to the side, Koneko Toujou, had no change in her kuudere facial expression when David mentioned her name, but she was slightly surprised nonetheless to learn that David knew what she was and who she was.

⟪ I already saw Shikimori the other day, but seeing her actually working up a sweat with the free weights is pretty hot. The way her sweat falls down her face, paired with that focused and slightly angry-looking expression... Don't stare, David; it's creepy. Admire her beauty and continue running... ⟫

Miyako Shikimori had come to the gym earlier than she normally does because she wanted to get her exercise in before getting ready for the first day of school. She wasn't totally expecting David to show up this morning due to his absence the previous day, but she was glad he appeared today.

Not that she wanted to see him or anything, she was just glad that he seemed to be fine and nothing else, okay?

⟪ The Nakano sister that winked at me when I first moved in, Ichika Nakano, is here as well. I wonder if she even knew who she was winking at when she did so, heheh. It'd be in her best interest not to try flirting with me again or else I might really snatch her up. Gotta say though, her yoga postures are beautiful. The Nakano sisters are all third-years, right? Wonder if I'll ever run into any of them outside of Roselia Heights? ⟫

Ichika Nakano, a short-haired pink-haired girl, was in the yoga area on her pink yoga mat doing the downward-facing dog pose.

[Ichika] 'Hahaha, I didn't think I'd see him so soon. I wonder how he's feeling this morning?'

⟪ And finally, the weirdest duo here. Yuki Nonaka and Kurumi Nonaka from Shinmai Maou no Testament. First of all, Kurumi is going to throw me off since I've constantly got a different Kurumi on my mind. Can I just give her a nickname? Hmm... I'll just call her Nonaka, heh. Anyway, I don't recall seeing a Nonaka nameplate on the penthouse floor so I'm assuming they live on a lower floor. But why are they here? Actually, why is their franchise in this world? We already have High School DxD, okay? I don't even know too much about their franchise and now I'm going to have to go through the database to figure out what to do with it... Ugh, maybe I won't have to do anything and Basara can just take care of everything. ⟫

The two blue-haired sisters, Yuki and Kurumi Nonaka, looked at each other slightly without a word before they resumed their strength training.

⟪ It's so weird seeing romcom heroines in the same room as ecchi harem heroines. I'm excited to see what my class will be like. Will it be full of people from various franchises? Will it only have normal people? What about the faculty? I already saw Aki-sensei and Minori-chan so I can assume that Tomika Amato is a teacher, too, right? ⟫

David was getting excited thinking about all of the possibilities that awaited him at school.

However, he had one very important, extremely life-altering question...

Shaking his head at his dumb joke, David just continued his run in silence.

In a house somewhere in Chiyoda Ward, a short silver-haired girl in a pink apron and white tenugui was preparing lunch for her and her two siblings.

Tamagoyaki, meatballs, stir-fried vegetables, and rice were laid out neatly in multiple two-layer bento boxes.

"*yawwwn*... Mmm, good morning, Reina-neenee...," an identical-looking short silver-haired boy said as he rubbed his tired eyes.

"Good morning, Ren-kun...," the short girl, Reina, said quietly.

Like, super quietly...

"Are you excited to go to school, Reina-neenee?"

"Mm..."

A girl that looked just like the other two, but taller and a bit more filled out saw the bento boxes her older sister prepared and said, "It's 6:30, you two should hurry and get dressed."

"Mm. Lunch is prepared for you and Ren-kun, Eru... I'll go get dressed and we can leave for the train together..."

The taller girl, Eru, nodded and started eating the breakfast that was prepared on the side with Ren while Reina went to get changed into her school uniform.

As Reina was getting dressed, she was inwardly worrying despite her forever-calm expression.

[Reina] 'I hope I can make friends in high school... I'll work on my distance with people so I don't scare them off... Just like David, I wonder who my seatmate will be? I hope they're a nice person...'

Once David was finished with his morning workout, it was already 6:30.

Not wanting to take much longer, he hit the showers to clean the sweat off of his body.

While he could just cast a quick cleaning spell, he liked the feeling of hot water pounding against his muscles.

Since his clothes had a self-cleaning function and never truly got dirty, he didn't have to worry about his sweaty smell sticking to him. Though, if we're being honest, it wouldn't matter anyway since his sweat smells amazing to any woman who smells it.

As David was finishing up in the shower, the girls' shower room was rather lively.

Koneko's petite naked figure could be seen getting dressed in front of a locker as Shikimori kept taking glances at her.

Koneko, of course, noticed this.

"What do you want, pervert?" she asked flatly, her tone completely deadpan.

Shikimori was stunned for a moment before she furrowed her brows. "I'm not a pervert!"

"Then why do you keep staring at me?"

"I... I was wondering what a nekomata was," Shikimori answered sheepishly.

Koneko was startled by the question at first, but then turned to look at Shikimori, only to see Ichika, Yuki, and Kurumi looking over at her as well.

Ichika wasn't hiding her interest, looking excited like a child that just saw a mythical beast for the first time.

Yuki had her arms crossed with a kuudere expression, but didn't move--only waiting to see what Koneko had to say.

Kurumi had a cold look on her face as she observed, deciding not to make any moves against someone inside Roselia Heights.

Koneko clicked her tongue, "Tch..."

She quickly started dressing herself as she answered, "It's none of your business."

Ichika smiled and said, "We didn't mean to pry. It's just kind of interesting, you know? I've never known that people that weren't human were so close by!"

"Be interested all you want, but I'm not a zoo animal for you to gawk at."

The room was silent for a moment before Kurumi spoke up, "I've read about nekomata before, but seeing one in person is new."

Koneko was getting irritated as the conversation stayed on the topic of her race.

"It seems David's voice can be heard from a lot more than just my friends and I. That's great and all, but I would appreciate it if you didn't use what he says to try interrogating me. I'm being polite right now, but I won't be if you keep asking about me."

Yuki narrowed her eyes slightly, but Shikimori and Ichika got the message.

"Sorry for being rude. I asked both out of my curiosity about you, but also to see if everyone else that was mentioned by David could hear his inner voice. The woman he mentioned in the past, Yoruichi, told me a couple rules concerning his voice so I was just testing the limits. Again, I apologize if my question made you upset," Shikimori said with an apologetic expression.

Koneko pulled her shirt over her head and looked over at Shikimori.

"Apology accepted."

She then gathered her belongings and started walking out the door, but looked back at Yuki and Kurumi before leaving.

"...Hmph. Staring is rude."

With her kuudere expression showing once again, Koneko walked out of the shower room and headed back to the elevator.

"...So... Everyone else can hear it, huh? That's pretty cool, heheh. I hope I can get to know David soon," Ichika said, aiming to break the tension.

"I do, too," agreed Shikimori.

"Totally cool, sure. Did you forget that he caused an earthquake that killed people and injured several more? There are still places without power outside of Tokyo and the other infrastructure will require even more work. But yeah, it's pretty cool," Kurumi responded sarcastically.

"Didn't you hear him yesterday? He just lost control of his powers, it wasn't his fault," Shikimori said, slightly irritated with Kurumi's tone.

"If he can lose control of his powers once, he can lose control of his powers again. David is a danger to innocent people and I'd prefer not to 'get to know him'."

Yuki didn't say anything about her sister's outburst, but her thoughts drifted to her childhood friend Basara's incident when he lost control of his powers during a mission when they were younger.

She didn't agree or disagree with her sister as that wasn't their mission. Thus, she decided to remain silent and turn around to get dressed.

Shikimori and Kurumi stared at each other for a few seconds before Kurumi decided to drop the subject and join her sister in getting dressed.

"Tch..."

Shikimori was annoyed and her desire to get to know David hadn't changed in the slightest.

She looked at Ichika and received an awkward smile before they both also continued getting dressed.

With a relaxed smile on his face, David hit the 'PH' button in the elevator and closed his eyes as he leaned against the wall and thought about how exciting school would be.

⟪ I always hated school in my past life and didn't pay attention to anything in this life, but now that I'm present, I can't wait to see what'll happen. Should I join some clubs? What kind of trips do high schoolers go on? ⟫

He took a deep breath in anticipation, but smelled a flowery fragrance enter his nostrils.

Raising an eyebrow, he opened his eyes and saw the back of a short white-haired girl standing in front of the elevator doors.

⟪ Koneko snuck into the elevator with me, huh? Those two black cat hairpins in her hair are freakin' adorable. I have the urge to pat her head and I don't know if it's because she's cute or because she's a type of cat person... Now that I think about it, she doesn't like her nekomata heritage because of what happened with Kuroka, right? ⟫

Koneko flinched slightly when she heard that.

[Koneko] 'Of course he knows that...'

⟪ From what I remember, Kuroka killed her master to protect Koneko, but Koneko thought that Kuroka just wanted more power or something like that. She became scared of her sister and anything to do with her nekomata powers, but she didn't even try to ask why. Silly Koneko, Kuroka killed that bastard because he wanted to use you in experiments to turn you into a 'Super Devil'. If I ever get close with Koneko, I'll have to find a way to spill that information. Siblings shouldn't hate each other, they should be close and support one another. ⟫

Koneko suddenly stopped listening to David and could only hear ringing in her ears.

[Koneko] 'She... what...?'

While Koneko was experiencing a life-changing revelation, David continued his spiel.

⟪ Look at Sona Sitri and Serafall Leviathan. They're super close! Sona is very protective over her older sister and Serafall is... well... she's a massive sis-con. They both like to cosplay and the way Serafall does it to make her little sister smile just warms my damn heart. Haaa, it's a shame Serafall seals herself away with Trihexa in the future. Can't even see her beloved 'So-tan' anymore... ⟫

The elevator doors opened, but Koneko stayed rooted in place, right in front of the door.

"Um, excuse me, miss? The elevator has arrived," David said as he gently nudged Koneko's shoulder.

Koneko widened her eyes and looked up at David, her body slightly trembling.

"You..."

She wanted to ask more about her sister, but... she was unable to due to the restrictions.

Nobody saw that one coming, right?

David smiled warmly and tilted his head to the side slightly.

"Me?"

"...My name is Koneko Toujou. Nice to meet you."

'Eh? That one was unexpected coming from her.'

"David Star, pleasure to meet you, Koneko. Do you mind if I leave the elevator so I can get ready for school?"

Koneko nodded absentmindedly and stepped out of the elevator.

David suppressed a chuckle and headed to his penthouse, waving behind him as he said, "Let's get along well in the future, Koneko."

"..."

Koneko just stared at his back until he disappeared into his penthouse suite, then she slowly trudged back to her own.

When she opened the door, she saw Akeno and Rias looking at her with concern evident in their eyes.

Akeno stepped forward and wrapped Koneko up in a hug as the door swung shut behind her.

"It's okay, Koneko-chan... You can talk about it with us if you want..."

Koneko tensed up slightly, but gave a slight nod and softly said, "I'm fine..."

Akeno, still hugging Koneko, looked over at Rias.

Rias understood and walked over, joining the hug and showing Koneko that she's there for support.

...

Right after Koneko entered her suite, the door to the suite across from hers opened up abruptly and a girl with short black hair and glasses stepped out quickly as she scanned the hallway multiple times.

She felt a tight grip around her heart and had a panicked expression on her face.

Before she could run to 'PH-01', a taller girl with black hair and glasses approached from behind and gently put a hand on her shoulder.

"Sona-sama, please calm down. Nothing can be verified about Serafall-sama's situation nor do we know when it will happen if it does. There will be many chances in the future to try and find out more. Talking with Rias about David should be our first step seeing as how Akeno and Koneko have both had encounters with him already."

Sona tried to calm herself down and straightened out her clothes as she took a deep breath.

"Huuu... You're right, Tsubaki. Thank you... Let's go back," Sona said, smiling slightly as she turned to continue getting ready for the first day of school.

Tsubaki bowed slightly and followed behind Sona.

[Tsubaki] 'Too many things are happening recently. I foresee many headaches in my future...'
