Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

"My children have been decimated! There might be a member of the Twelve Kizuki on Mount Natagumo. We need to send a Hashira!" The speaker was a refined man—the current head of the Demon Slayer Corps, and Ryuji's future father-in-law.

In his hand lay a near-dead crow, exhausted from its urgent flight to deliver the message.

Beside him stood Kanroji Mitsuri and her identical twin sister. The twin wasn't the dark-haired boy who had attended the Final Selection on Fujikasane Mountain.

The twin sister, like Mitsuri, had white hair, differing only in the color of her hair ornament. Their features were identical.

After speaking, Mitsuri and her twin looked towards the house.

Inside, Tomioka Giyu and a girl knelt on the tatami mats, awaiting instructions.

The head of the Corps sat on the outdoor walkway, seemingly enjoying the cool air and the garden view.

"Giyu, Shinobu. The matter is entrusted to you."

"Understood."

Tomioka Giyu and the girl, Shinobu, replied in unison.

"If only demons and humans could coexist peacefully… Giyu, don't you think?" Shinobu initiated a conversation.

"As long as demons eat humans, it's impossible," Giyu replied flatly.

Tomioka Giyu and Shinobu, dispatched by the head of the Corps, swiftly traveled to Mount Natagumo.

Shinobu was a beautiful woman with a large butterfly ornament in her hair, giving a cute and playful impression.

Her petite figure gave the illusion of fragility.

Upon reaching the mountain, they entered. Soon, they arrived at a site with many dead Slayers. Giyu examined the area and stopped.

Shinobu asked, "Do you recognize anyone?"

"There seem to be no survivors nearby. According to the crow network, several new Ding-rank Slayers were sent in before our arrival. They might be dead as well," Shinobu continued, noticing Giyu's silence.

"Let's go," Giyu said, understanding her implication. This was why he examined the bodies.

A crow had already dispatched the Mount Natagumo mission before Giyu and Shinobu's intervention. Ryuji, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were the ones assigned.

Knowing Ryuji and Tanjiro were involved, Giyu, though outwardly calm, worried about their safety.

As their senior, he naturally hoped they were alive.
