Lenny smiled back at him. "No!" The next thing the gladiator knew was that Lenny spat right in his face. He hissed at this. However, his smile suddenly paused, and then he left Lenny. He held his chest, and then his body began to scratch. He touched his face, and there the problem was. There was a green substance on his face. He looked in Lenny's direction, and this time around, Lenny opened his mouth for the gladiator to see what was in it. It was the green, glowing mushroom. Lenny had spit a mouthful on his face. This was the same mushroom, and just touching it was harmful. Immediately, the gladiator's body started to grow spores of glowing green mushrooms. He panicked and tried to shave them off, but more grew where the previous ones were. And soon, the skin on his face was peeling off as more mushrooms grew on him. It was like they were forcing their way out of his body. He screamed in pain, but that was all he could do. More grew on him. His bones made a cracking sound as they were peeled open like roots pushing against the ground to show their faces. Lenny backed off as he watched in surprise. He had seen really sick things in his life, but nothing like this. The mushrooms grew in a few seconds. The gladiator's life ended just like that. Instinctively, he spat out all the mushrooms in his mouth. Even though he knew it could not harm him because of the Satan system, he was not going to test this theory. Not after seeing what the mushroom had done to the unlucky fellow. The other gladiator had also watched in horror at this. He looked at the dead gladiator on the ground and then at Lenny and said, "YOU!!!" "Shit!" Lenny cursed as he immediately ran out of the cave, and the gladiator ran out with him. However, the moment Lenny came out, he paused. How couldn't he? In front of him was a crowd of Insects. They filled every corner. But that was not all. There was a praying mantis-looking insect the size of a grown adult male in front of the insects. This one was not in any way like the others. Lenny paused when he saw the insect, and he slowly backed back. However, the other gladiator had run out. "No more running! He grabbed Lenny by the neck." He paused as he saw the welcoming party in front of him. He saw the praying mantis creature. The compound eyes of the creature lay on him. Immediately, Lenny saw something he had never seen. The speed of which was incredible. *Boom* The way the claw of the praying mantis had gone through the air had literally made Lenny hear the slicing of the wind. The D-class gladiator dropped Lenny as he jumped to the side. He had jumped out of the way, and he was fast too. However, when he turned to look at Lenny, he could see the surprise in Lenny's eyes. That was when he looked below and noticed that a thin, fine diagonal line cut across his body. He subconsciously touched it and said, "Hmmm! Just a scratch," he scoffed. However, he suddenly coughed out blood. This surprised him, and then he took a closer look at his body. Just like how uneven bricks would fall to the ground when placed one on another, the upper part of his body fell to the ground. Lenny's eyes were shut. Without anyone telling him, he immediately dove back into the cave he had come from. Just now, the speed that the giant pray mantis had used with one attack had been so fast that the D-class gladiator did not even know that he had been cut into two. He had even jumped backwards, thinking that he had only gotten a cut, but it was worse than that. Only a fool would think that he could just go against such a creature and survive. Lenny rushed back into the cave with the worm-like chimera ant that had glowing blue eyes. At the moment, it was his only mode of escape. As he did, he kept looking back to see whether the giant praying mantis was going to follow him. However, to his surprise, the creature did not follow. In fact, apart from the worm-like chimera ant here, no other chimera ant came into the cave. It was almost as if something was preventing them from entering. This gave the adrenaline rush that Lenny had undergone so far a bit of rest. He lay against a rock as he breathed in and out continually. Suddenly, a huge wave of fatigue took over his body, and he could feel his eyelids becoming heavy. Soon after, he passed out. At the moment, the joints in his arms were swollen, and the muscles felt like he had lifted the world alone. His hands felt heavy. What's more, an intense burning sensation came from the pit of his stomach. It was an unbearable sense of hunger. It was crazy, and for a quick second there, he did not even mind biting and swallowing his own tongue in order to quench it. He had been an assassin for a long time in his life, and there were times he did not eat for days, but he had never experienced anything like what he did now. Just then, a worm-like chimera ant was passing beside him. It was soft, and from the looks of it, it was just going about its business. Lenny did not want to, but this might not even be the most disgusting thing he had eaten yet. "Fuck it!" He cursed as he opened his mouth and dived for it.
