"I'm a doctor...I have the antidote. I...am healing you..." The white-beaked masked man stared at Brit, and there was a hint of madness in his voice.
At that moment, Brit only felt a chill rushing up from his spine and the fear in his mind was uncontrollable.
[ ===== ]
And countless viewers in the stream were also shocked by the atmosphere of the white-beaked masked man, and frantically flooded the chat:
"F*CK-! I almost piss myself."
"Why do I feel that this doctor seems to have a lot of history? Is he human?"
"He is SCP-049, I want to know his file now."
"My god, does anyone think he's both scary and handsome at the same time!"
"Has anyone noticed? He just killed Vale with a single touch, and then Vale just died, no process at all."
[ ===== ]
The chat in the stream room was endless, but Brit in the game had no time to watch it because he was already panicking.
"I am dead." Brit sighed softly in his heart.
He still didn't know what is the nature of SCP-049, but he saw with his own eyes that SCP-049 just lightly touched Vale, and then he died. Regardless of those zombies, it was this strange ability to kill people that people simply couldn't resist.
If he touches you, you die. How do you fight against this? Of course, players could choose not to be touched, but Brit had no choice now.
"I will show you my results, but before that, I need you to stay here...Of course, you can't leave because you are also infected with the Pestilence." While Brit was burning with anxiety, the white-beaked masked man spoke again.
He forcibly suppressed the irritability in his heart. Then he turned his head, squatted next to Vale, and took out all kinds of strange tools from the medical box he carried with him.
"He's going to operate on Vale..." Brit's heart skipped a beat, and he remembered the weird wounds on the zombie's body when he first saw it.
At that time, Brit had felt that the corpse seemed to have undergone rough surgery. Now it seems that these zombies are created by this mysterious creature.
"Oh sh*t, he won't turn Vale into a zombie, will he?" Brit swallowed unconsciously and nervousness gripped his heart.
He looked at the passage on the other side since the white-beaked masked man had already gone to Vale's side, leaving the other side empty.
"Let's run." Brit suppressed his nervousness and quietly moved to the other side of the passage.
But after moving just two steps, the white-beaked masked man, who was about to dissect Vale, immediately turned his head, his eyes a bit red: "I said I'm healing him and I will heal you-! You are terminally ill and you don't know it-! You are hopelessly stupid-!"
After saying this, the white-beaked masked man paused, then he said in a low voice: "Try to escape again, and I will be forced to treat you first, but then you won't be able to see my results."
Brit didn't dare move immediately; the speed at which the man with the SCP had passed him and reached Vale was unmatched. So, if he ran again, he might turn into a zombie even sooner than Vale.
"I can only rely on Kiwo..." Brit sighed deeply in his heart, then, after thinking about it, he walked cautiously into the next SCP room.
During this time, the white-beaked masked man turned his head to look at Brit but didn't say anything.
Brit breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that as long as he didn't try to escape, this SCP wouldn't attack him immediately. That being the case, he took the opportunity to search for useful information to prepare for the next time he restarted the game.
After entering the SCP room, Brit found that it was divided into two layers: inner and outer. The inner layer was the actual containment room, with only simple beds and tables inside, while the outer layer was an observation room. There were various equipment and instruments, like computers.
A wall separated the inner layer from the outer layer, with a door in between that was currently open. Brit looked around and came to a table in the outer observation room. On the table was a computer, but the screen was black.
But that wasn't the focus, the focus was a Keycard on the table, along with a dossier filled with text.
"Huh? It's a Level 4 Keycard?!" Brit was surprised; he understood the significance of the SCP-049 room now.
This SCP-049 containment area was likely where the game provided Level 4 Keycard for players. Since players could take the Level 4 Keycard, it was likely because many doors in this area required Level 4 or higher Keycards to pass.
Brit thought for a while, then whispered: "Everyone, I think this place already belongs to the Heavy Containment Area. After all, the Light Containment Area usually only requires a Level 3 Keycard."
[ ===== ]
The viewers in the stream suddenly realized, and many viewers said as much in chat:
"That's right, no wonder the passageways feel more airless and more vicious, after all, it's a Heavy Containment Area."
"I think so too. It's amazing though, that getting caught by "The Old Man" brings you into the Heavy Containment Area. Isn't that a shortcut?"
"Don't think about it, though. Since there's a Light Containment Area, it has its purpose, after all. Players need to collect items in the Light Containment Area."
"That's right. I think that "The Old Man" also belongs to the storage area of the Heavy Containment Area, but he's a bit special since he can go directly to the Light Containment Area."
"Without good items, it's hard to survive in the Heavy Containment Area. The SCP in front of you is a living example."
[ ===== ]
After looking at the chat, Brit nodded: "Some of your analyses are very reasonable. The Heavy Containment Area must be full of dangers. If only "The Old Man" could help pass levels quickly, then the game would be too simple."
After speaking, Brit sighed, then he turned his attention to the file in his hand. It did not exceed Brit's expectations. The information in the file was exactly about the beaked man outside:
[ SCP-049, Plague Doctor ]
"His name is Plague Doctor...He is a doctor?" Brit was surprised.
However, though he was called the "Plague Doctor", Brit felt this doctor was very different from the real thing, It is not even the same concept at all.
Shaking his head, Brit continued to read. But before he had taken in more than a few sentences, he heard movement at the door of the Containment Chamber. He looked up and found Vale at the door, staring at him with blank eyes, expressionless.
There were horrible marks on his chest and abdomen from the rough surgery just performed, anyone who saw it would feel their spine crawl.
"The Plague Doctor" also came out from the side, a hint of excitement in his deep voice: "See? I healed him. He is healthy now, unspeakable horrors torment him no more. Well...I have to admit, this cure is not perfect."
