Deva Wizard: The Great Xian in King Arthur's Realm

Chapter 19: Sword Technique

“Mary, support me,” Arthur said to the girl. Their red cloaks shined out astonishing powers.

Arthur touched his magical ring once, suddenly, his sword and armor appeared.

The same went for Mary, she summoned a magical cane and was ready for the fight.

The girl quickly moved her lips, casting a spell. All of a sudden, bright light gleamed out of their bodies. That light was three small magical hoops; they were orbiting around the two.

These were the three supporting hoops from Mary’s spells. Their abilities were increasing attacking power, protection, and accuracy.

Arthur was also casting a spell. His magical cape flashed; then it was like a gust of wind was wrapping his body.

Arthur rushed at the goblins.

CLANK!

The goblin with a huge sword quickly used its weapon to block Arthur’s attack. Then the goblin holding a cane in the back started casting a spell to support its friend. In the blink of an eye, their speed and strength increased tremendously.

Each time their swords clashed, Arthur’s hand trembled.

At one point, a red light shone out of his magical cape.

Arthur used that opportunity to dash at the goblin with a cane. He thought that it was a long-range spell attack.

The red light from the cape combined with his sword. That sword filled with a red glow thrashed that spell-caster goblin heavily.

Zooooooom!

However…

CLANK!!

Suddenly, another goblin came out and blocked Arthur’s sword. The red sword hit the goblin’s shield.

Its intensity resulted in Arthur and the goblin’s bodies bouncing off at the same time.

After Arthur was at a disadvantage, the big-sword goblin found an opportunity and rushed in.

ZOOOOM!

It did not have a chance to reach Arthur when a glowing ball immediately bumped its body out.

These goblins were vicious; they fought systematically. Their cleverness resembled a human’s.

Arthur regained his composure; while he was analyzing the situation, a goblin used its knife to slash his back.

SHLUKK!

The knife goblin had been hiding and waiting for a chance since the fight began.

Arthur underestimated them and now he was injured.

Knowingly, Mary started casting a spell and swung her cane speedily. Although the spell required a few seconds to finish, after she was done, golden particles glowed out from Arthur’s body.

The cut on Arthur’s back slowly diminished until it was totally closed.

It was a healing magic that could heal a wound. However, its limitation was that it could only heal external wounds. The pain stayed.

There was only the high healing magic that could completely heal a wound.

And the only ones capable of doing that had to be at least archwizards, a level with a massive amount of magical power. That was because high healing magic required a great deal of magical power and a longer time to cast spells.

After Arthur was healed by Mary, his face looked better.

Arthur moved carefully; he stepped his right foot back and used his sword skill to attack the enemies before him harshly. A bright, glowing red light moved to the front.

ZOOOOM!

The goblins in the radius of the sword’s power were struck out in several directions.

The goblin standing the closest completely got the impact of Arthur’s sword. Its body flew up to the wall; on its chest lay a big wound. Bright red blood was flooding out; and not long after, it was dead.

It seemed like that attack had done some damage to this group of goblins. But the two children had only a short while to be happy; the situation got worse.

The goblins exploded their anger; then all fifteen of them started surrounding the two. Their red eyes stared at the humans with repugnance.

With his Lemegeton Eye, Merlin, who had been watching the scene from afar, could see in the dark. His eyesight was better than normal humans.

When Merlin saw that the two kids were in a dire situation, as a good servant, it seemed like he would have to help his master.

He picked up a piece of rock and then pretended to run clumsily in to help the children.

YAAAAAAAHHH!

Clack, clack, clack

Rocks were thrown with the strength of a young boy at the goblins.

“You fool! What are you doing!?”

Arthur yelled madly when he saw what Merlin was doing. His eyes were disdainful.

Those rocks would never give the goblins a scratch because they were at least level-two beasts.

Fighting in a horde, they were smarter than normal goblins and had a fighting strategy that was hard for a magic practitioner like him to handle.

Throwing rocks would just make them angry, what a stupid servant.

This idiotic action maddened the goblins. He was already struggling, handling them; these goblins were more aggressive than the ones outside.

Arthur could not help this brainless servant; he asked for trouble by himself.

Getting provoked, the goblins rushed to Merlin instantly.

The boy pretended to be scared and ran to an unfamiliar path.

Almost ten goblins changed their target to Merlin. Even though Arthur tried to block them, he failed, for there were still five other beasts working together to surround him.

Mary also tried to help Merlin; she cast a spell to shoot the light balls. Alas, they were all blocked by the goblin holding a shield so she could not do anything.

These goblins were too strong. To fight second-level beasts, if they were having a dual, probably they would have a chance to survive. But it was not as easy when it was all mixed up like this.

“Arthur, buy me some time. I will cast an attack spell.” Said Mary before she started casting the spell.

“Alright,” Arthur answered with a serious face.

Certainly, the spell Mary was going to use had a destructive attacking power. And an exchange for its potency was a longer spell-casting duration.

As a warrior, Arthur had to stall time for the spell caster.

The regard for Merlin’s well-being had to be put aside for now because of the five second-level beasts in front of him. Even Arthur was unsure if he could take them down.

Back to Merlin, after he had pretended to run away from the goblins…

PEW! PEW! PEW!

The sound of arrows being shot went on continuously. It was all the doing of the arrow goblin at Merlin’s back. He was now at level seven of Qi accumulation; so, dodging arrows was just a piece of cake for him.

It was true that these goblins were stronger than the typical ones. Merlin checked with Lemegeton and found out that these were the second-level goblins which were comparable to humans at the magical-practitioner level.

It was no surprise that even though those two children had already passed the test and received their capes, they could not handle these numerous beasts.

Merlin used his Moon Spring boosting his speed to leave some space from the goblins that had been chasing him. Right then, he stopped and bowed down to draw alphabets on the floor with his wand.

PLINK!

Suddenly, the blue magical alphabets appeared; they turned into magical hoops packed with mysterious energy. The magical-power waves were being sent out like the rolling ocean waves.

Although these energy waves were light, they could even penetrate through a rock stratum.

The magical alphabets Merlin was using were the land observation alphabets; they could survey an area of one hundred meters using magical waves as the receiver.

After checking the area with the alphabets, Merlin found that the way he came in was a huge cavity.

Inside this hole were a lot of intersectional ways all led to the big hallways. And about ten steps ahead of him, there was another hole, but its entrance was somewhere else.

Merlin was too lazy to trick the beasts to follow him. It was his intention to have these goblins chase him and let those children show off their skills.

There were only a few goblins left over there; he felt like Arthur and Mary would be able to handle them.

The entrance of the closest hallway was coated with a mud wall. Luckily, it was not really strong. So, Merlin transferred Xian vital essence to his hand and pushed it out in that direction.

BOOM!

With his action, the mud wall exploded.

There lay in front of him a spacious hallway. Merlin waited for the goblins to come closer for a while.

Seeing the goblins coming near, he instantly made a turn into that hallway.

When the goblins saw that, they rushed at Merlin just like he wanted.

Inside, the hallway was a gigantic room filled with numerous holes that looked like a beehive.

Suddenly, countless red eyes gleamed out of those holes.

A devilish smile appeared on the boy’s face.

“How long has it been since I last fought?” An aura filled with killing intent exuded from the boy’s body.

A corner of Merlin’s mouth lifted up happily. He levitated with Moon Spring on a wall and picked up a grass leaf growing on it.

That grass leaf was pinched between Merlin’s index and middle fingers.

The Xian vital essence wrapping around his body exuded strange gusts of winds. He glided down to the center of the hallway.

Merlin smiled eerily, “let’s see if my sword dance still works.”

The hand pinching the slim leaf lifted up to a perpendicular angle to his face.

As soon as he flicked his hand to the front, there emerged a powerful energy wave piercing out.

WHOOOOSH!

That flick created a sword essence, vigorously dashing ahead. That energy wave pierced out in a straight line through the goblins hindering its way.

The ferocity of the sword essence cut through the goblin’s bodies making the parts drop, scattering them everywhere. Crimson blood came out creating a big pool.

By shaking his hand once, Merlin could sweep a large number of level-two beasts.

They were not his matches.

Seeing their fellows getting killed, the goblins were enraged. Their eyes turned aggressive. An intense amount of killing intent was sent out of them.

Loud roars were echoing all over the place; innumerable goblins jumped at Merlin frantically.

“You guys don’t fear death?” The boy said coldly.

Merlin did not seem a bit scared of the horde of goblins; they were nothing in his eyes.

The little one adjusted the positions of his feet; he flipped the hand holding a grass to the other side.

WHOOOOSH!

Xian vital essence inside his body exploded; the bodies of the goblins surrounding him were heavily knocked out by that energy. Countless of them flew up in the air and then fell down, injured.

Then the long-range attacker goblins immediately started casting spells and shot arrows at Merlin. But because their skills were too low, Merlin could dodge those magical powers and arrows with small moves.

“This fight has become uninteresting; I’m getting bored playing with you guys. So, I will just end it now.”

Merlin decided to finish this fight; finally, one of the four Ashes and Embers Sword Dances was used.

Without warning, the air in that place was filled with Xian-essence pressure. The grass leaf that Merlin used as a sword was lifted up; instantaneously, a sword that looked like innumerable grass leaves appeared in the air.

“Ashes and Embers Sword Technique, Raging Embers.”

ZOOOOOM!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh

There appeared thousands of swords moving briskly, surrounding Merlin like a celestial Xian’s halo. Sword vital essence spiraled and expanded like a huge cyclone.

The goblins inside the destruction radius of this technique were all cut into pieces.

Their shrieks were obstreperously loud like those of spirits’.

It was so loud that Arthur and Mary could feel it.

The goblins were swept by the sword vital essence, completely demolished. Their blood splashed all over the gigantic hallway.

Because of the Xian vital essence covering his body, there was not a single stain of goblins’ blood on him.

This was an ability of a practitioner at the seventh level of Qi accumulation. Its power was way more vicious than any ordinary human could imagine.

The boy’s apathetic and emotionless face showed an inhumanity.

He could say that in his former life, he was not a decent, virtuous hero. He had even tried a heretical path. It was fortunate that he was not caught or else he would never have drilled the withering stage.

In the Law of the Jungle, the more powerful ones were the justice. He could clearly remember these things. If these were things that he thought were useless, he could get rid of them unhesitantly.

An orphan who had been living a harsh life was able to become a withering-stage practitioner. The only thing he could rely on was himself.

In a flash, that hall was filled with pools of blood. And in those pools, there remained the cryptic souls.

Cryptic souls were objects that could be contained in weapons or extracted into magical power for cultivation.

Hundreds of cryptic souls were soaking in blood pools.

Wasting no time, Merlin immediately used his Xian vital essence to move them into his magical ring.

Having finished the goblins, Merlin ran back to support the two children. With his exceptional levitation art, he got to where they were fighting in no time.

It seemed like Arthur and Mary had already killed three goblins. There were still two beasts left, fighting fiercely.

Mary was a supporting spell caster; she could slightly use magic to attack. And when it was time for a strong attacking spell, it took her a long time.

Arthur had to both fight and look out for her at the same time because Mary had used up all her magical power casting that massive attack spell. Now, she only had a small amount of magical power left for self-defense here and there.

Arthur was fighting with two sword-holding goblins; his defend-and-attack game was neck and neck with theirs. But when there were no longer supporting spells, his situation was a little rough.

Merlin got into an act, running exhaustedly to the two kids. And he was holding a knife that he took from a goblin.

Seeing a chance, Merlin stabbed the goblin standing closest to him.

And that goblin died immediately after getting stabbed right in its torso.

Another goblin with an excellent reflex turned to Merlin and started moving its sword to attack him right away.

Arthur moved fast; he used his sword to block the goblin’s. When there was only one enemy left, with his strength, Arthur was able to handle it easily.

At last, the fight had ended. They both looked exhausted, especially Arthur. He had a lot of wounds on his body.

“How did you manage to run away from those goblins?” Wearily, Arthur asked Merlin.

“I just ran and ran until I found a labyrinth. With my luck, I was able to lose them and found a way back to you guys.” Making up a big lie, Merlin acted very innocently.

After hearing that, Arthur’s eyes showed that he was unsure if that was a lie or a fact.

But then there was a loud noise that sounded like the footsteps of an army coming closer.

Suddenly, their doubts were clear when a hundred pairs of red eyes appeared in the direction that Merlin came from.

“Oh my god! Run!” Mary shouted out of fear.
