Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World

Chapter 575: The Cursed Shore

Asmodeus stepped out of Baltimore onto a nostalgic coastline, beside him Yumiko and Levia wore their combat outfits, with one in a padded kimono reinforced with leather for maximum movement and speed, the other is thick black plated armour, and a giant kite shield attached to her arm, with the sword slotted into the shield instead of a sheath on her waist.

Velvet wore nothing, only her black demonic exoskeleton covering her breasts, crotch and a thin skirt of down to her thighs.

"This place hasn't changed." He muttered with a smile.

Half a year ago, when the group first came to Baltimore after fleeing Grigor, he took a quest to end a ritual while staying at the village.

This coast led to the same village, the same island and cave.

"It seems the villagers are dead or posessed." Velvet's purple eyes shimmered, her black horn whirring with magical power as she prepared for combat.

"The issue isn't the villagers, but the existence which killed a demon knight without a chance of retaliation," Yumiko responded, loosening her limbs as her punches snapped, distorting the air with a crackle of lightning.

"We can do this, we are more powerful than ever!"

Asmodeus watched Leviathan step forward, before he noticed a slight fluctuation of mana beneath them.

Snap!

It's beneath us!

He dashed forward as the black tendril tore through the ground and slapped towards Levia.

Clank!

Asmodeus felt his fist vibrate with a numbing sensation from striking the fleshy tentacle.

"What!?"

Leviathan twisted to see him blocking her with one arm, and striking the black, sludgy tentacle with his fist, the bubbling mass of fluid-like flesh slid off his hand before it evaporated into steam.

"Darling, get back!" Velvet cried out.

Dozens of similar tendrils erupted from the ground and shot toward Asmodeus and Leviathan.

If I try to block them physically, I'll continue to take damage...!

Asmodeus looked at his burning palm, and the surface of the tentacles seemed acidic to touch. "Use magic! Don't touch them!" He called out, snapping his fingers to form dozens of magical circles, and bloody lances formed in the air almost instantly.

Shing!

The air vibrated as Asmodeus fired a barrage of blood-spears, which tore apart the sludge.

Each spear tore through their flesh and impacted the ground with a thunderous bang.

Behind him, he could hear the crackle of Velvet's purple flames as she rushed into battle, and Levia raised her kite shield to block a series of tendrils, with Yumiko's body shining with a black aura as she used her legs to shatter anything which approached him.

Crash!

Levia's shield shattered several of the tentacles, releasing a hissing sound as they melted.

"Good!"

If we keep going like this, it will take too long to reach the source...

Asmodeus gripped his repaired axe with a sigh, knowing that it wouldn't help as much as his magic, but overusing mana before knowing the true enemy might lead to a dangerous situation.

Let's use my Demon King form!

His abdomen clenched tightly, his muscles tightened and shifted, and his body grew slightly taller and bulkier as his limbs expanded in size. His ears sharpened and his horns extended somewhat, while he could feel his tail stiffen against his leg.

The power of his demon king form increased his power and speed explosively, enough to crush the dozens of tentacles that constantly appeared.

He also set his Automatic cast to send lesser blood lances at any that passed him.

"Yumiko! Let's go!"

Asmodeus called out to Yumiko, who rushed past him, leaving a trail of black light as she dashed forward. The girl was now fast enough to almost instantly move through space with her body cloaked in a divine, or rather, a profane, aura.

His axe cleaved through the air, forming a vortex of death, the moment he swung it.

Splat!

The sludge-like tendril split open and melted as it struck the ground, leaving behind a trail of black, gooey smoke that evaporated.

"Asmodeus, they're too weak, but so many!" He smiled, knowing that Yumiko also realised these things didn't have the purpose of killing, but draining their strength, stamina and mana. She used a series of punches to strike at the tendrils, her fists coated in an intense mixture of dark energy.

"If we keep going at this rate, then we might run into trouble."

"Don't worry, I've got it." Velvet hummed, stepping forward, her body enveloped in a veil of purple lightning. "Let them gather I will strike them all at once."

Asmodeus smirked at his violent wife as he grunted and extended his wings. "Take flight! Gather the tentacles for Velvet!"

Velvet's horn glowed brightly, as did her eyes, as she cast a spell.

The sky grew black, with clouds forming overhead.

The black sludge tendrils writhed, unable to keep pace with Asmodeus and Yumiko's overwhelming speed. Their sharp attacks cut through empty air as the pair flew at high speed. Levia's armour slowed her speed, but she managed to twist and turn away from the dangerous blows easily.

With each dodge, the black tentacles struck out wildly, missing the trio and coiling around themselves, becoming tangled in a knot.

"Now!"

Asmodeus and the others jumped away from the mass of flesh, giving Velvet the perfect opportunity to strike.

"Violet Crash!"

Velvet's beautiful voice resonated through the air, each note causing a small arc of lightning to spread before a beautiful image formed in the air. Purple lightning crackled overhead as it struck into the ground with an explosive sound, like a hammer hitting the ground.

Boom!

The black tendrils shook as the earth burned, as the ground shook from the intense shockwaves of heat and power.

Without care for the terrain, Velvet stomped, creating another thunderclap, her eyes glowing pure purple, as her black horn crackled with pure lightning.

"...I've got them." She muttered, steam hissed from her limbs as she staggered, caught instantly by Asmodeus as he lifted her into a princess carry.

The other two gaped in surprise.

Leviathan and Yumiko knew Velvet was strong, but they were astonished to see how much she improved in a short amount of time.

"Good work, my lovely queen."

"Mm..." Velvet showed a rare and lovely smile, hugging his neck as his wings fluttered a few metres off the ground.

"Let's head to the village, quickly."

***

"How did this happen?"

He lowered Velvet onto the ground and staggered forward as the stench of burned flesh and charcoal lingered in the air. Asmodeus stood at the entrance of the village.

His mind flashed back to the festival and the people he met not so long ago... but the image before him was far worse than he thought.

"No survivors..." Leviathan whispered at the display in the centre of the village, piles of human corpses impaled by black spears, similar to the tentacles but solid and unmoving. "Who could have done this..."

Asmodeus walked up to the pile of bodies and knelt to take a closer look; he brushed away their burnt flesh, using his demonic eyes, he analysed their damage.

The enemy cut down the young men who were able to fight with swords, but the rest showed signs of blunt force trauma or broken bones.

How could this happen, right beside me?

He closed his eyes, although these were people he had once saved and helped. Even if they were rude and treated him poorly, he managed to grow closer to his wives because of them.

These people shouldn't have died in such a way.

"..."

"Darling?"

"Dear...?"

"Master, is everything alright?"

Asmodeus turned back, and he realised that becoming a demon made his wives less affected by such scenes. At least that's what he believed, but he was wrong.

Their wet eyes trembled, watching him with a fragile kindness, directly at him.

So they are holding back... for me?

He could sense the instability in their hearts.

Asmodeus didn't want to see the women who were like family to him cry, so he held back his emotions and gave them a weak smile. "We failed to save this village, but at least we saved the city... We cannot linger here; who knows what those bastards are plotting in that cavern?"

Yumiko's bitter smile offered more comfort than words, while Velvet shrugged, leaning against his shoulder.

"Let's bury them after we crush the one who did it."

Velvet always managed to remain calm even in the most horrible of situations. Leviathan sank her teeth into her lips while gripping her sword tightly.

The women nodded and followed him as he stepped around the corpses, their bodies piling onto the ground as if they meant nothing, and the world left them behind.

***

They arrived at a small forest path along the beach, which led straight to a rocky cliff with an entrance carved into it.

"This is it..."

He remembered fighting an apostle of death in this cave and never meeting her again.

Would she return, or would another take her place?
