Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Alan Makes a Grand Entrance
"Holy crap, Magneto's iconic moment!"
Wade stared in shock as Magneto raised both hands, controlling the cross-sea bridge, making it shift and move with his power.
At the same time, hundreds of mutants cheered in unison.
"The leader's power is too strong, truly a Level 4 mutant!"
"An army is just a decoration before the leader, wiped out in minutes!"
"The leader is the hope of mutants!"
Words of admiration fell into Magneto's ears. On the surface, he remained stoic and calm, but inside, he was utterly delighted. Every time he acted, he managed to astound his subordinates, seizing the opportunity to boost his prestige. As long as he lived, the Brotherhood would continue to exist.
Of course, Magneto was a renowned figure in the world. He couldn't handle every trivial matter personally; it would diminish his image. So, he recruited low-level mutants as underlings to resolve minor issues.
Soon, the cross-sea bridge spanned the gap between the shore and the island. Magneto waved his hand, signaling the attack. Hundreds of mutants surged forward like zombies unleashed, charging madly toward the island.
With a casual lift of his hand, he tore off a section of an iron chain, reshaping it into a metal disc. Magneto stood on it, flying effortlessly, escorting his subordinates from above.
"I hate flying mutants the most," Wade grumbled enviously. Then, he spotted a pink delivery motorcycle. "Oh my god, it's my favorite pink!"
Wade eagerly hopped onto the pink motorcycle, glanced at the insulated box on the back, and joked, "The bigger the power, the more pizza you eat. To hell with your Joe's Pizza!" With a kick, he sent the insulated box flying. Twisting the throttle, he leisurely sped up, catching up with the main force.
Meanwhile, on the island, agents spotted the leading mutants and opened fire without hesitation. The guns and bullets were made of hardened plastic, designed to be immune to Magneto's control. The barrels fired miniature serum injectors, similar to tranquilizer guns. They caused no fatal harm but degenerated mutants into normal humans upon impact.
Several mutants in the front row were hit by the injectors. Immediately, their bodies struggled and convulsed. Some, with distinct mutant features, rapidly transformed back into ordinary humans.
"Find cover!"
This horrifying scene made the advancing mutants extremely cautious. They couldn't afford to act recklessly. As for the degenerated members, their comrades' attitudes shifted instantly, as if they were complete strangers. For the Brotherhood of Mutants, only mutants were brothers. If you weren't a mutant, you weren't family.
At that moment, the desperate pleas of the mutants begging for help were met with cold, unfeeling stares.
"Let me handle this."
At this moment, a gender-ambiguous mutant with short hair and wearing a bib stepped forward. Clapping their hands together, a shockwave radiated outward, swiftly sweeping forward. Agents holding the first line of defense on the island found their weapons shattered by the concussive force.
"The shockwave is so cool!"
"He's one of the top ten mutants in the Brotherhood. I'm so jealous!"
"So cool it made my face bleed!"
Amidst the praise, the shockwave mutant proudly placed a hand on their hip.
The first line of defense had fallen, and the agents immediately retreated to the second line, picking up their weapons to prepare for continued resistance. Looking at the continuous stream of mutants pouring across the bridge, they couldn't help but feel a surge of nervousness.
At this moment, an Asian man in a jacket crossed his arms forward, his bones cracking audibly.
"One of the top ten, Porcupine, is about to make his move!"
"Ordinary people wouldn't dare get close to Porcupine!"
"His close-range killing skill is absolutely terrifying!"
Porcupine, about to showcase his abilities, wore a confident smile and proudly displayed the razor-sharp spikes that could extend and retract from his body. The next second, he froze in place. An injector had appeared on his forehead. He toppled forward stiffly, dead on the spot. An injection to the body might not be fatal, but one to the brain was a different story.
Porcupine was dead! Everyone was utterly shocked. Porcupine, usually so arrogant and showy, killing without a blink, had been expected to unleash his ferocity. Instead, he had turned out to be all show and no substance.
"Watch for snipers!"
A figure flashed past, returning in seconds. It was Shadowcat, one of the Brotherhood's top mutants. She couldn't move at super speed like Quicksilver or Flash but could teleport short distances. However, frequent use could cause her body to collapse.
"Attack!"
Magneto soared through the air, gathering metal to form a shield, providing cover for his subordinates. With the advantage regained, the mutants advanced, hiding behind the metal shield.
At this moment, Wade arrived late on his pink motorcycle. Looking at the degenerated mutants lying on the ground, now reverted to normal humans, he said awkwardly, "Gandalf, can I quit?" Degenerating into normal humans meant losing their self-healing abilities, and cancer cells would soon claim their lives.
"Up to you," Magneto said, focused on the battlefield, having no time to deal with him. One more or less didn't matter.
A mutant with perception reported, "Leader, I don't sense the target. The other side is all normal humans." Magneto frowned, realizing the information had leaked and the enemy had moved the target early. Recognizing the agents by their S.H.I.E.L.D. uniforms, he didn't dwell on it too much. S.H.I.E.L.D. specialized in espionage, and turning mutants into undercover agents wasn't difficult. With many people mixed in, management was inevitably lax.
A question arose: if the targets weren't on the island, why were the agents guarding it so fiercely? Magneto looked up at the central building.
"Could it be…?"
He began to tear down the building, intending to discover what it protected. Cracks extended across the building walls, as if an invisible force was tearing it apart. The reinforced concrete structure contained metal, which Magneto could easily dismantle. Agents inside the building chose to retreat as soon as they saw it shaking.
Just as they were demolishing, two figures suddenly appeared, one black and one white. With every move, they knocked out mutants along the way.
"Venom!?"
Wade was incredulous. "How could there be symbiotes here? Did a multiverse collision happen?" Indeed, there were symbiotes: a normal black one and a white one that had reproduced from it.
"Magneto, surrender immediately. Stop this meaningless resistance," the black symbiote soldier said sternly.
"What are you?" Magneto felt these creatures were not human, like liquid beings possessed. He controlled steel rods, softening them into many steel beads, firing them like a machine gun.
In an instant, the two symbiote soldiers moved like phantoms, quickly closing in. The steel beads couldn't penetrate their surface, and the white female symbiote even reflected the beads back.
"I'm curious who you are?" Wade fought the black symbiote, exchanging blows.
But Magneto was in trouble. Besides controlling metal, he wasn't skilled in close combat, relying on a metal disc to fly and dodge. However, the opponent had manifested a pair of fleshy wings and was incredibly agile, easily dodging his attacks and pursuing him relentlessly. Currently, Magneto's ability felt awkward. Small steel beads couldn't break the opponent's defense, and large steel rods were too slow and missed their target.
Boom!
Suddenly, a beam of energy blasted away the white symbiote that was cornering Magneto.
Apocalypse and his team arrived just in time. Alan stood with hands on his hips, arrogantly shouting, "The protagonist appears! Bow down quickly, all of you!"
