Chapter 162: Chapter 163: Laughing Bat vs. The Batman Who Laughs

Chapter 163: Laughing Bat vs. The Batman Who Laughs

The Batman Who Laughs.

The Ravager.

The Merciless.

The Red Death.

The Drowned.

The Dawnbreaker.

The Murder Machine.

A vanguard of the Bat God, a knightly order composed of seven Dark Batmen from the Dark Multiverse, was the first to descend upon the current human universe.

In this moment, the Justice League saw distorted reflections of themselves in these dark invaders.

Except for the Batman Who Laughs, each of the other six Dark Knights locked eyes with their respective targets.

In the universes they hailed from, they had already defeated their counterparts once. Repeating the feat would be effortless.

Keh keh keh…

The Batman Who Laughs let out a deranged cackle. "Let's show our old friends just what we're capable of."

The words had barely left his mouth before the Dark Knights launched their assault.

In a blur, red and yellow flashes zipped across the battlefield.

The Red Death chased after the Flash—both possessed the Speed Force, rendering them invisible to the naked eye.

The Ravager, infected with the Doomsday Virus, leapt into battle against Superman.

Wonder Woman unsheathed the God-Killer Sword to face off against the Merciless.

Green Lantern squared off against the Dawnbreaker.

Aquaman confronted the Drowned.

Cyborg clashed with the Murder Machine.

Only the Batman Who Laughs remained still, watching from the sidelines as if he were merely a spectator.

In the blink of an eye, the Justice League was at a serious disadvantage.

They were well aware of how Batman was known for counter-strategizing—and now, they were up against multiple Batmen.

"We can't take them head-on. We need more heroes," said Clark, stunned by the Ravager's terrifying strength and the pressure on his teammates.

If they didn't change tactics soon, total annihilation was a real possibility.

They fought while retreating, trying to draw the battle away from the city.

Gotham was a major metropolitan hub, home to tens of millions. Any large-scale destruction would lead to massive civilian casualties.

"You're just struggling in vain, keh keh keh…"

The Batman Who Laughs let out a twisted laugh, clearly relishing the sight of the Justice League in disarray.

"Keh keh keh… Beat the Kryptonian to death!"

Standing off to the side, Allen chimed in sarcastically. Even Ocean Master Orm seemed pleased watching Aquaman get pummeled. The Midnight Bruisers had zero intention of stepping in to help.

"Who are you?"

Just then, the Batman Who Laughs noticed someone in the crowd dressed uncannily like himself—but he was sure they had never met.

Even though the Batman Who Laughs had traversed countless universes, he was certain he'd never seen this person before.

"I'm the Laughing Bat."

Allen flipped his cloak and added, "You're the one who took Batsy, right? Hand him over now, and I might consider not beating you senseless."

Keh keh keh…

The Batman Who Laughs burst into even louder manic laughter, as if Allen had just told a joke. "If you want Batman back, go talk to Barbatos. I'm just here to destroy the world."

"Children, tear him apart."

With that, he unleashed three of his Laughing Robins.

Each one bore a grotesque, maniacal grin, crawling like rabid dogs on all fours. Their mouths were lined with jagged, shark-like teeth, and their clothes were stained with dried blood.

The Batman Who Laughs had committed countless atrocities after being infected by the Laughing Virus.

His first conversion?

His own biological son: Damian.

Allen reached out and grabbed Laughing Robin Damian from the Dark Universe by the neck.

Bang! Bang!

With a quick flick of his leg, he kicked the other two Robins away.

"Dami, you look hideous like this."

Thud!

He slammed Damian into the ground with such force that the cement cracked beneath him.

But the Damian from the Dark Universe seemed completely unscathed, still snarling like a beast as he lunged toward Allen's leg with bared teeth.

"Get off, you little brat."

Allen knew his own strength well—he could kick through a concrete wall with ease.

By all logic, a single blow should've killed a Laughing Robin.

And yet, not only were they unharmed, they were still charging like rabid beasts.

"Orm, freeze them."

Allen tossed out the command casually, then walked straight toward the Batman Who Laughs.

"I've waited a long time for this."

As he spoke, his body trembled slightly—not from fear, but excitement, as though every cell in his body buzzed with anticipation. He began talking to himself:

"I came back from the very first timeline. I've already accepted I can't return to my original world, so I worked hard to adapt to this one. When I discovered the Court of Owls' conspiracy, I knew you were coming. I was hoping you'd show up."

"You don't seem right in the head."

The Batman Who Laughs pointed at Allen and felt a vague sense of unease.

"It's innate," Allen replied. "Even my psychiatrist says I'm a natural. If this were a xianxia world, I'd be a Holy Son of some cultivation sect. You know—main character aura and all."

"Ugh… Don't change the subject. Just stick to setting the mood." Allen continued, "You've probably already realized I'm… special. And since I chose to become the Laughing Bat, it was inevitable that you and I would one day face off."

"Oh, stop giving yourself a bigger role than you deserve."

The Batman Who Laughs scoffed, "You're just a cheap knockoff trying to imitate me. Let me put you out of your misery—keh keh keh…"

Before his laugh even ended, he threw a punch.

He was Bruce Wayne after all, with a lifetime of Batman's combat experience. His personal combat ability was far from weak.

But Allen didn't move. He calmly raised a hand and blocked the punch effortlessly.

He caught it!

No struggle whatsoever.

Everyone watching was stunned.

A lunatic with that kind of strength?

A Batman variant that weak?

The truth was, Batman's reputation had always been a carefully constructed illusion. Even at the peak of human ability, he could never match beings beyond humanity.

Most of Batman's victories came from gadgets and preparation.

Otherwise, how did Bruce end up with all those scars? They were the result of getting the crap beaten out of him by supervillains during unexpected encounters.

"Die."

The Batman Who Laughs swung with his other fist—his laughter was gone.

Allen casually caught that one too.

With a sly grin, he said, "I know I can't kill you—you've got Barbatos' dark power protecting you. But I can make you hurt."

His grin widened. Allen began exerting pressure on both of the Batman Who Laughs' arms.

The latter instantly realized something was wrong. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't pull his arms back. The pain in his wrists began to spike sharply, and the only way to relieve it was to bend down with the pressure.

"Oh… keh keh… it hurts… keh keh keh…"

Crack!

A crisp sound of bones snapping.

Allen had literally broken both of his wrists.

Looking down at his dangling, useless hands, the Batman Who Laughs sneered, "You think this'll scare me? How childish… keh keh keh…"

"Sea cucumber technique, yoshi—watch the ball!"

With that quip, Allen slammed his size-10 boot right into the Batman Who Laughs' face.

The next instant, he flew like a shadowy missile into a landmark building.

Boom!

Chunks of rubble came crashing down over him.

So this was the true power of Allen.

Because he rarely fought, the other members of the Midnight Bruisers had assumed his combat strength was average.

Now, they realized—they needed to completely reevaluate him.
