DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 189: C163(1)

Aldrich Killian.

This character is the main villain in Iron Man 3, the creator of the Extremis Virus, and the founder of AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics).

Killian was originally an ardent admirer of Tony Stark. However, his admiration turned to resentment after a humiliating experience where Tony, in his characteristic arrogance, ignored Killian at a party.

Devastated and on the verge of suicide, Killian was distracted by the fireworks in the night sky.

That moment ignited a new resolve in him—one fueled by revenge. He decided to dedicate himself to his own research and, over the next few years, worked tirelessly to build himself up from nothing.

Killian gained fame, wealth, and respect, but he could never reclaim the dignity Tony had trampled on two decades ago. Looking at his creation, the "Extremis Virus," Killian believed he finally had the means to achieve his long-awaited revenge.

The years of struggle not only warped Killian's mind but also fueled his ambition. Revenge wasn't enough; he wanted to perfect the virus, seize control of the U.S. government, and crown himself as the ultimate king—not just in theory but in reality.

For this plan, he targeted Vice President Rodriguez.

The first step of Killian's plan was to gain the Vice President's allegiance. Rodriguez's daughter had lost her right leg in an accident, and Killian's Extremis Virus had the miraculous ability to regenerate limbs.

This was the perfect leverage.

However, just as Killian was preparing to approach Rodriguez, his plans were derailed by the newly established Wayne Company.

Their press conference revealed a breakthrough in limb regeneration technology.

This technology's purpose directly overlapped with that of the Extremis Virus. Though it didn't grant superhuman abilities, it was safer and instantly captured public trust. The announcement blindsided Killian.

The sudden emergence of this technology stripped him of his most critical bargaining chip to sway the Vice President.

Killian could pivot to another target, but he knew Rodriguez was irreplaceable. There was no one else who offered a better opportunity to fast-track his plans.

So, there was only one solution left:

Destroy Wayne Company.

Killian resolved to discredit their limb regeneration technology, tainting its reputation so severely that people would lose trust in it.

But how?

"Batman…"

Killian knew that the Jameson family backed Wayne Company, and rumors linked Anton Jameson directly to Batman. The company's name, "Wayne," was no coincidence—it was likely connected to the Dark Knight himself.

"Even with Batman's backing, it won't change the outcome," Killian muttered.

Watching the press conference draw to a close on television, a sneer spread across his face.

"Creating a technology is hard. Destroying one is far easier."

A Few Days Later

The premiere of Batman 2: The Dark Knight was held as scheduled, and Anton attended the event.

In the past few days, Wayne Company's operations had exceeded even Anton's expectations.

Their limb regeneration technology had just opened for online reservations on the official Wayne Company website, and applications poured in from disabled individuals across the globe.

Everyone wanted to be among the first to benefit from this groundbreaking innovation.

Many left messages, declaring their willingness to accept potential risks if it meant regaining a healthy body.

Of course, there were no side effects.

The overwhelming response left Jonah Jameson swamped with work. It turned him into a full-fledged workaholic, managing the influx of applications and inquiries.

Meanwhile, Anton couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Watching everything unfold so seamlessly, he knew Wayne Company was destined for massive success—even if Aldrich Killian had other plans in mind.

Judging by the current pace, it seemed that all the time lost during the year Anton took a vacation was now being made up in full after the establishment of Wayne Company.

Not that anyone minded—especially not Jonah Jameson, who seemed to enjoy every moment of his new responsibilities. Seeing the old man thrive in his role brought Anton some amusement.

As for Anton himself, he was more than happy to take a backseat. While he understood the company's operations well enough, he had little interest in the day-to-day management.

Even for his own DC company, Anton rarely got involved in the administrative details. That was largely handled by his capable assistant, Betty, who meticulously kept things running smoothly.

Anton's role, as the highest authority, was to oversee and strictly control the company's overall development direction. But in truth, the ultimate goal of DC wasn't merely profit—it was about creating fan value.

The profits were just a natural result of the process, a win-win byproduct of the broader strategy.

Lost in thought, Anton snapped back to reality as the car came to a stop at the end of the red carpet.

Stepping out, he greeted the crowd of media, Batman fans, and attendees waiting eagerly near the entrance. The red carpet was packed with entertainment journalists, Hollywood celebrities, and lucky fans of the Batman movie franchise.

Under their expectant gazes, Anton walked the carpet, paused for interviews, and then made his way into the theater.

A While Later

The premiere finally began.

In a discreet corner of the theater, Coulson sat quietly, wearing a hat to blend in, his eyes fixed on the screen with a mixture of curiosity and amusement.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark—ever the center of attention—was seated carelessly in the first row. Beside him were his loyal driver and assistant, Happy, and the ever-poised Pepper Potts.

Anton's seat wasn't far from Tony's, and for a brief moment, the two locked eyes.

No words were exchanged.

Anton, however, couldn't help but notice the faint black marks on Tony's neck, telltale signs of palladium poisoning.

Despite his deteriorating condition, Tony still had the energy to attend a movie premiere. That, if nothing else, was quintessential Tony Stark.

The Movie Begins

The screen lit up with a group of masked men stepping into view.

The scene quickly set the tone—a high-stakes robbery was underway.

The audience immediately understood that these were bank robbers. Among them, one name stood out: the Joker.

Though not physically present, it became clear the Joker had orchestrated the entire heist. To the other robbers, he was just a manipulative schemer sitting on the sidelines, watching as they risked their lives.

But things weren't as they seemed.

The robbery was meticulously planned, targeting a mob-controlled bank. As events unfolded, the Joker's madness began to surface.
