Chapter 53: Chapter 53: The Pirates

[3rd POV]

Upon seeing Luffy, Wanda looked at the teen and couldn't help but wonder '...Can he even read? Or at the very least, can he read a book in full without wanting meat or something?' Wanda thought, knowing that Luffy wasn't...exactly the brightest person in the world. But he was immensely charming, so that made up for it.

"Woah! It's bigger on the inside! And there's a bunch of books too!" Luffy exclaimed in shock as he looked around, he didn't really care much about the books, and cared more about food, specifically meat.

"...What is this place? Is it the creation of some sort of devil fruit?" Another voice echoed, this one feminine in nature. It was this person that Wanda knew for a fact would be coming back...a lot. For this was...Robin.

Robin looked even more awed than Luffy, not just because of the fact that the door that they walked through led to somewhere bigger, but also because of the amount of books that littered the shop, some being the biggest books she had ever seen.

"Well hello there young pirates! I am Wanda Maximoff, owner of this humble bookstore, what brings you into my shop today?" Wanda asked, as she looked at the two of them. She was a little disappointed that the others weren't there, but that wasn't too much of a problem.

From what she could tell, they were somewhere during the later parts of their journey, likely only a little while before Luffy unlocks Gear 5, which was a bit of a surprise, as she was expecting for it to be the Luffy from before Ace is killed.

Eh, it didn't matter much to her either way.

"Well this door just appeared on the front of our ship, so we were a little concerned..." Robin said, trailing off as she began to glance over the books on the shelves, finding every single one of them completely unique. Not a single one of them was recognizable to her, and that by itself was interesting.

At the same time Luffy was glancing around with sparkling eyes, zooming around the shop, making sure not to knock anything down, but still looking all over the place.

"Ah, sorry about that. My shop just sorta...appears where it wants. It appears to people of note that deserve to enter, and it would seem that you, Robin, are worthy of entering, just as much as the future Pirate King over there" Wanda said, glancing at Luffy with an amused smile on her face.

"So is it a devil fruit that is doing this?" Robin asked in interest, as Wanda smiled.

"You could say that, it's...a bit more complicated, but I suppose that would be the best description for my ability. Now, are you interested in any of my wares? I've got books, food, drinks, and even sell bags that carry more on the inside than what should be possible" Wanda replied, with Luffy reappearing in front of her in a moment upon hearing the word "Food".

"MEAT?" He questioned simply, as Robin let out a groan and Wanda giggled.

"I've got all sorts, Luffy. The best in the world is sold here, you want some? I take currency, exchange of books, and exchange of knowledge" Wanda replied, the teen in front of her looking at her with sparkling eyes.

"I want as much meat as you can give me!" Luffy replied simply, not even answering her question as Robin let out another groan of annoyance. Wanda in response, just let out a chuckle and snapped her finger, as meats of all sorts began to come from the room behind her.

Luffy watched with wide eyes as more and more meat began to flow in, and he began to quite literally drool at the amount, not to mention the absolutely incredible smell that passively wafted off of the meat in question. Even Robin couldn't help but feel slightly hungry upon smelling the delicious meal that was appearing.

"So much MEEEATT!" Luffy yelled with glee, as he practically teleported to the food, only to get blocked.

"You pay first, Luffy" Wanda said, holding him back as the mans head snapped to Robin akin to an owl, his rubbery physique allowing him to do that. It was...a little creepy by Wanda's standards, but nothing too crazy.

"Robin, pay her!" Luffy said, drool cascading out of his mouth like a waterfall. Wanda wondered what the people in that universe ate to be shaped like that and to literally work like a cartoon. It was hilarious to look at, but also weird as hell.

"How much will all of this be?" Robin asked, concerned for the price. As with how delicious it smelled and the size of the meal...it looked like it could be expensive.

"Not much, if you pay in berries, or you can pay in books which will make it a bit cheaper. You can even pay in knowledge, it's up to you. But I can tell you that the food I sell here is quite cheap, the prices are above me" Wanda said, pointing up as a glowing menu appeared, showing the prices of each item that Luffy was wanting to eat.

And just as she had said, it was...cheap, much cheaper than Robin had been expecting. So much so that they had more than enough money to pay for it, unlike usual where they'd be broke by the time Luffy was done with his food rampage.

"That is...quite cheap. How do you make any money off of your food if you sell it for so cheap?" Robin asked, genuinely curious.

"It's all homegrown and homemade, every single thing in that food. Meaning it costs me nothing in order to do it. I don't take advantage of others in my pricing, I price it at what it is worth and that's all" Wanda replied, as this was the truth. Even without using her power to make it, she did grow everything required to make the food.

One of her farm dimensions had every single plant on Earth growing inside in neat rows, growing all the necessary ingredients for food. This was mostly just for her own enjoyment though, as she enjoyed farming every once in a while.

"I see...will this cover the food?" Robin asked, as she reached into a pouch and brought out a large pile of berries.

"More than enough, thank you. And Luffy, you are welcome to dig in now" Wanda said with a smile, watching in interest as Luffy quite literally began to inhale the food, munching on it with a wide grin and happy eyes.

"Well...while he is doing...that, I will be looking through your selection of books" Robin informed Wanda, who just gave her a nod as she walked over to the non-fiction section, looking through the books on history and otherworldly books, only to immediately notice that they were...different, far different than their own worlds history.

She furrowed her eyebrows, but continued to read through a few books, her interest growing the more she read about the "Age of Heroes" and the "Long Night". It was so different from her own world's history that she couldn't help but get absorbed into the stories of the book, finding herself more and more interested by the page.

By the time thirty minutes had passed, she had a stack of a little over 30 books, each and every one of them on history.

Wanda watched the entire time, finding her picks to be interesting.

'Seems she's a history nerd, I'll have to stock up on some more history books' Wanda thought, as she didn't have a ton of history books.

Walking up to the counter, Robin placed her stack of books onto the table.

"Quite the selection you've got there, you like history?" Wanda asked, as Robin nodded with a small smile, as she brought out her berries again, this time paying with quite a lot more than last time.

"I've always loved history. And you said that I can exchange my own books for yours? Is it alright if I bring them in next time?" Robin asked, as Wanda nodded.

"Of course. You can bring them in whenever I am open, and can bring in as many as you want. As long as they were not duplicates of the same books. In fact, I once had someone bring in over 250 books at a time and she was able to buy every book in the shop with them" Wanda responded, causing Robin to look a little excited at the thought, deciding she would bring in any duplicate books she may have and trade them in.

"Great! I'll make sure to come back next time with some extras I have, Luffy, you done yet?" Robin asked, looking over to her "Captain" who was...currently bloated like a balloon, patting his stomach with a grin.

"That was amazing! I am definitely coming back here! The meat here is the best!" Luffy said with a wide smile, as he jumped back up to his feet, his bloated stomach returning to normal as Robin just let out a sigh at her captain's words.

"Alright captain, we'll get more next time, but for now, it's time to get back" Robin said, as Luffy grinned and began to move towards the exit, but not before looking back to Wanda.

"Thanks for the food!" Luffy said, giving her a wave and walked out of the door, Robin giving her a small wave too and left as well, leaving Wanda alone once again.

Seeing as they left, Wanda let out a small chuckle, and had only one thought on her mind.

'Well then...onto the next customers!'
