Chapter 9: day one as a personal maid 2
A lady wearing a pink excessively big ball gown walked into the dining, she had a smile spread across her face like she was coming to meet Santa for the first time
"Your majesty, it's wonderful to see you" she said with an overly high pitched voice
Kairos didn't reply, completely ignoring the fact that she was standing there, Lana looked at her, she couldn't deny she was a beauty with her red hair and dashing green eyes, she carried herself with Grace like she owned the world, with an arrogant look on her face
Not wanting any trouble Lana quietly paid more attention to her meal
Margaret felt embarrassed she looked at the other girl on the table eating on the table,
glaring at her, she wondered who she was and what gave her the right to sit at the same table with the king. Glancing at her outfit she took note of the maid uniform Lana was wearing she huffed dropping the purse in her hand
"Oh my, how clumsy of me" she said acting surprised
"Maid, get up and pick my purse"
Lana looked up from her meal, she glanced at Kairos wondering if it was her she was talking to
"Are you deaf" Margaret spat out
Confirming she was the one the red haired lady was speaking to she sighed dropping her spoon to get up
"What are you doing" Kairos finally spoke
Lana paused looking at him "I...uh was going to...."
"Did I instruct you to stand up from the table" Kairos asked, he was in a good mood until that red haired bimbo walked in
"But..."
"Should I remind you whom you're serving cause it's seems you have forgotten" Kairos turned his gaze darkened looking at Lana
Quietly sitting down on the table, she didn't want trouble especially this man's trouble cause apparently it comes with a death sentence
"Lady Margaret to what do I owe this visit" Kairos said impatiently, completely loosing his appetite he dropped his spoon by his plate, he placed his head on his hand lazily staring at her
"Your majesty" lady Margaret curtsied
"It been a long time since we last seen, so I thought to pay you a visit as your soon to be bride"
Lana almost choked on her food, clearing her throat she took a sip of water, she never imagined anyone would be attracted to this scary man, apart from his good looks what else was attractive about him or does the lady just enjoy pain
Kairos glanced at Lana focusing on her meal, she was pretending she didn't hear the statement, irritated by lady Margaret's presence he wanted nothing more than to cut off her head but he couldn't cause she was the daughter of a very influential Marquis, he still had good use for her father
"I see you have alot of free time on your hands"
Turning to Lana "let's go, I suddenly lost my appetite" he said getting up from the dining, completely ignoring the Marquis daughter, Lana hurried behind him as he left the dining
Margaret stood by the table gritting her teeth, Kairos had never ignored her completely but today he was with that maid he didn't even so much as pay attention to her, picking her purse from the floor she stormed of the dining, she was going to find out who that girl is and make her pay
Trailing quietly behind Kairos Lana wondered if that is what she'll be doing all day, her feet were already getting tired from walking through this obnoxiously huge palace, walking through a hallway she followed him into a room, full of books both on the desk and two shelves stationed by the sides
The room was big enough to be considered the same size as her bedroom or even bigger, there was a smaller desk and chair by the side, a young man was sitting on it looking through documents completely focused, he didn't even notice Kairos walked in
"Finally you're here your majesty" the man by the desk said only sparing a glance at Kairos and continued looking through the documents
"You don't look pleased to see me" Kairos said
"I am more than excited to see you your majesty, finally you won't abandon all the work to me" the man retorted visibly annoyed
Kairos let out a laugh, walking over to his desk
Lana watched their exchange quietly, it was some kind of miracle the man's head was still intact
"Lana go to the kitchen and make some tea for me" Kairos instructed
Lana turned around leaving the study
"So she's the mystery girl, has she worn the necklace" the young man by the desk said, watching the closed door
"She hasn't" Kairos replied
"How are you even sure she's the chosen one" the man asked
"I'm not we just have to find out" Kairos answered flipping through the documents on his desk
