Chapter 7: Locked in
Looking up at the ceiling Lana had already memorized every detail, and intricate designs made on it, she was laying face up on the bed inside the guest room Kairos brought her in
She's been here for about two weeks or was it?, she lost count, after that bathing encounter she had with Kairos, he locked her inside this room giving her food and water, even making sure she had a change of clothes and a bath
The maids who came in to attend to her were more docile, it seemed what happened with the last maid spread.
She didn't hate this life, she had food, cloth and a soft bed to sleep on and she didn't even have to move a muscle for it, but not moving a muscle for a long time was taking a toll on her
Letting out a sigh "I'm bored" she muttered softly
Raising her five fingers above her head, she stared at it "I wonder if he'll come to see me today" she muttered to herself
Letting out another sigh, she had set aside the thought of escaping when she tried to leave the room in secret one night and found Kairos standing by the hallway watching, she almost jumped out of her skin thinking she saw a ghost with golden eyes
Until he came and picked her up like a sack of rice taking her back into the room
Even if she had escaped she had no idea where she was and how to get out, so she just waited hoping for another opportunity.
Another loud sigh left her lips, she suddenly missed her phone, she could've been playing video games by now
Putting her hands together like she was holding a phone she pretended she was clicking it "I haven't texted Anna in a while" she said, pretending to type a message
"What are you doing" Kairos asked
Startled she whipped her head towards the door, to see Kairos leaning on the door crossing his leg leisurely watching her visibly amused, sitting up immediately her cheek flushed in embarrassment
"Your majesty" she said, sitting properly on the side of the bed, Kairos usually came to visit her to see what she was up to or whether she was concocting a spell cause he didn't seem to believe her when she said she wasn't a witch
Watching him as he made his way towards her, she admitted he was handsome, like really really handsome, like God took a day off and carved him personally handsome
His golden eyes that could suck anyone in with just a glare and his jet black hair that looked perfect even when it wasn't neatly swept back, his lips that was always in a smirk or a cunning smile making him look even more alluring
"Are you done drooling" Kairos said standing in front of her with a mischievous smile on his face
Blinking away in embarrassed, Lana gave up, she could not believe she was caught drooling over him, she could die now, she screamed internally
Kairos gazed at Lana, he fought the urge to push away the unruly hair on her face, he didn't know why but he was somehow taken by her, though he never had interest in women
No woman even survived a day with him, he found them irritating and a bother, with their pretense and unstable emotions but Lana amused him, the way she blushed at every slight remark
Or how her eyes said a thousand things her mouth couldn't speak, he admired her audacity and determination he found it entertaining.
After confirming she wasn't the thief, he was somehow relieved but what was still a mystery to him was the missing magic in the amulet, his mother's magic will never leave the necklace unless it found its new owner
"From tomorrow you're going to be my personal maid" Kairos broke the silence
"What?....what about sending me home, you have a lot of maids already" Lana complained, forgetting the fact that she was talking to the dark Lord
Kairos smiled he liked the way she never hid her complains or sugar coated her words because of his status or temper
"I can't send you home" he said, at least not yet, not until he found out what happened to the magic in his mother's amulet, if it's what he suspected he would never send her home
"But why" Lana cried
Kairos face darkened "either die or stay alive by my side, make a choice" he said, his voice loosing it's warmth
Shivering at his sudden coldness, it seemed like she had no choice in the matter, it's not like she had any choice since came here, she was just thankful to be alive
"Yes your majesty" she replied
Kairos cold gaze suddenly warmed "good, your duty starts tomorrow" he said walking out of the room
Leaving her alone with her thoughts.
