Chapter 112: DULK: Chapter 112
After the destructive storm, silence descended.
The sound of waves against the cliffs and distant city noise punctuated the night; Lancer's Master had dispelled the nearby barrier.
"No reason to stay. Next time, I'll reclaim my lost honor!"
Gilgamesh referred to Flandre nearly burning his eyebrows.
"I'll be waiting, big oaf," Flandre smiled fearlessly; Gilgamesh laughed.
"Impressive! Don't underestimate girls; that small girl rules Britain."
"May I know your name, little lady?"
Gilgamesh, standing, asked politely.
She wouldn't reveal her name so easily; he wasn't the only idiot here.
Waver thought glumly, wisely refraining from voicing this thought to avoid another flick.
Surprisingly, the girl revealed her name.
After Gilgamesh's question, Flandre curtsied elegantly.
"I am Flandre Scarlet, second in line to the noble Scarlet family. I am here to win the Grail for my Master."
"Scarlet Flandre? I don't recall that family."
"That's normal; I'm not from this world."
"Ah, a fictional Servant?"
Gilgamesh nodded understandingly.
"Then, farewell, Miss Flandre. Next time, I'll fight you with all my might. Any final instructions, Master?"
The boy, beside Gilgamesh, didn't answer.
He remembered me now? About time, Waver thought, replying:
"Nothing. Go; I need to sleep; it's late."
"Alright, Master."
Gilgamesh tightened the reins; the bulls roared, lightning crackling from their hooves as they galloped south.
"Farewell!"
With a thunderous roar, Gilgamesh's chariot disappeared into the southern sky.
Illya finally relaxed, breathing a sigh of relief. The area was devastated; five Servants had clashed, many unleashing Noble Phantasms.
"The first battle was intense. Has the Grail War ever been this fierce?"
Illya wasn't worried about the damage; the Church was responsible for concealing the Grail War; this looked like an earthquake; they'd clean up the mess.
"Being targeted by two powerful Servants isn't good,"
Besides Gilgamesh, Archer also harbored killing intent; this wasn't pleasant.
"Gilgamesh isn't opportunistic; Archer is the problem… he's strong,"
Arthas worried about the arrogant Archer; arrogance wasn't scary; arrogant individuals with the power to back it up were dangerous.
West of Fuyuki's mountainous area, a long national highway stretched westward, away from the city lights, leading to an undeveloped forest. The highway continued beyond the prefecture.
Though a two-lane road, few cars were visible; the late-night highway was silent and deserted.
A silver beast sped along this quiet road—a Mercedes-Benz 300SL. Its elegant lines were regal, yet the six-cylinder engine roared like a wild beast.
"How's the speed? Pretty fast, right?"
Illya, grinning, held the steering wheel. Arthas, tense, managed a weak smile.
"Un… unbelievably… skillful… driving."
"Right? I practiced."
Her shifting was still clumsy.
Arthas recalled Illya driving in circles in the castle courtyard; a nightmare…
But she was his wife; her happiness was paramount.
Arthas had prepared the car for transportation in Fuyuki; it had served its purpose.
Arthas wiped his brow, looking back; Flandre sat quietly in the back; this was nothing to her.
After an hour, the Einzbern annex appeared.
Seeing this massive castle, comparable to the German Einzbern castle, Arthas scoffed.
They were rich.
"This is our temporary base during the Grail War; no servants, so we'll do everything ourselves,"
Illya said; Arthas nodded; they entered the long-dormant castle.
