Chapter 29: Chapter 29-Broken Silences!
Chapter 29
FINN DIEMNE-Captain of Loki familia
A sense of unease had been keeping him on the edge ever since the expedition had begun, and their Goddess had shared this premonition with her, making him even more wary.
It was why had slowed the pace of the expedition, not to overlook anything and yet just as they had been about to depart from the floor 18th, Riveria, Inumaki-kun had stopped, glancing towards the entrance before his fears were proven correct, as the high-ranking adventurer jumped across the whole floor in a single second, as the infamous Gale Wind appeared calling for him.
It was well known that Inumaki-kun was fast, perhaps even faster than Freya familia's Vana Freya. And as he watched his body blur across the floor, he realized just how true that all was.
And so, their departure was halted by him, as he had them move back to Riveria, as he asked the blonde injured elf for an explanation. And it was all very damning.
"You are saying that you were all attacked by Ishtar familia," he asked, and the elf girl nodded as he sat there as their healer bandaged her wounds.
"Yes, and they were joined by another familia. The Ikelos familia," and that was a name he had not heard in years as he stood there alongside Gareth, Riveria, and Ais.
"They surrounded our home and attacked with all their might. Their target was the Goddess Hestia-sama for some reason. Despite everything we were losing, especially because for some reason our wounds refused to heal," and that could only be because of magic or a cursed weapon.
"And so, my friends. They gave me an opportunity to run because we knew that we had to get help. And there was only one person who could turn the tides of battle," she finished as Finn nodded as he rubbed his chin.
"Should we abandon the campaign and go up to help him?" Gareth asked, and indeed, as one of the strongest familia in the city. One that was an ally of Hestia familia, they had to help.
But it would come at a massive cost to them, making all the preparations they had made for the expedition useless and costing them millions of valis.
"There is no need for that," it was Ais who spoke much to the surprise for everyone, her prowess and fame made it so that when she spoke people listened.
"We should move on ahead; after all, didn't he say that he would catch up?" she finished as if it were so easy to move through the middle and lower floors by herself.
Though, there was reason to this. Especially given that every minute they wasted cost them thousands upon thousands of Valis.
"But..." the blonde elf tried to speak up but stilled as smoke began to rise from her wounds as her skin began to heal up infront of their gaze as he smiled.
"I see," Riveria-san began as she examined the wounds before she chanted a small healing spell once more.
"Heal!" and with that, the elf's wounds began to close up, much to their surprise, for the spell had been ineffective before.
"It seems to me that these wounds were from a cursed weapon, and since they are healing now it can mean only one of two things," the high elf began as Fin smiled.
"That either someone has broken the weapon, or they have..."
"...killed its wielder," Ais added as she turned her back and once again began to walk towards the gates that led to the deeper levels.
"We have wasted enough time. We should be on our way," she said, and Finn nodded.
"Indeed, everyone move out!" and at his command, the parties began to move again as he turned towards the now healed Gale Wind.
"I believe you should rush back and see the battle for yourself. I believe you will find that the tides have shifted," and saw her eyes widen as he began to walk back as well, before he remembered something and decided to shout back.
"And do give Inumaki-kun a message from me..." he shouted as he glanced back at her.
"...tell him that we will be waiting for him."

INUMKAI HERAKLES
BOOM!
The captain of Ishtar familia was thrown back as he attacked her, though he did not relent and let her recover as he flew through the air and chased after her, and as soon as her body hit the wall, he was upon her much to her surprise as he bashed her head against the wall once more.
"AHHHH!" she screamed as the metal helmet broke in his hands and shards cut across his palms.
Yet Phryne Jamil was anything but relentless as she tried to fight back, trying to punch him in the face, as Inumaki opened his mouth once again.
"Gospel!"
BOOOM!
And the force of the attack broke the armor on her arm, breaking every bone in it, as he stood there pushing her head further and further into the wall.
His patience had long run thin, and as she tried to attack him with her only healthy arm, he spoke once more.
"Gospel!"
BOOOM!
"AHHH!" and the woman screamed and wriggled in his arm once more, as her other arm was torn to pieces again, as Inumaki coiled back his other hand and punched her.
"GUGH!" blood gushed out of her face, covering her hand, as her armor was now broken in full. he let go and watched as her body fell to the ground limp, as she watched him in absolute horror.
"No....help....," she gasped out as blood gushed out of her crushed and mangled mouth, as Inumaki turned his gaze to the roof, and his eyes narrowed onto the shadowy figure trying to run away.
"Not so fast," he whispered as he grasped his spear in his hand and pulled it back magic rushed through the scarlet weapon, and its shaft grew an ominous red before he threw it forward with all his might.
"Pierce thy Heart..." he whispered as the spear radiated with ominous power, the spell markings on it glew as Inumaki screamed its name.
"...Gae Bolg!"
BOOOM!
And it cut through the air, buildings, and so forth as it hit the adventurer trying to run away, as it tore through their body before it went past and nailed them to a tower behind them.
He then jumped out of the mansion himself as he appeared infront of the purple-haired adventurer.
Valetta Grede was a formal member of the Evilus organization. One of the feared executives, she was a high-ranking level 5 adventurer who was a menace to deal with, given her abilities.
Her signature move was her magic spell, one named Shaldo, which allowed her to lower the level of anyone in a certain range, making them more vulnerable to Evilus's hidden plots. She was rather active until she was defeated seven years ago and had been presumed dead all this time.
However, a few months ago, when they were attacked on Riveria, he recognised that magic, its effects, and realised that much like Olivas Act, Valetta Gerde was alive as well.
And he saw her eyes widen as he appeared infront of her in a blur, as blood gushed down her mouth as she tried to push out the spear thrown by him.
"You!" she snarled in both fear and fury, she lay there helplessly as Inumaki gripped the spear, and twisted it.
"AGHHH!" she vomited out blood, as she tried to attack him with the daggers bound to her belt, and yet he pushed away her arm as he looked her in the eye.
"It has been quite some time, Arachina," he used her little nickname and saw her still.
"Let me go, you bastard. Do you have any idea of what you are acting against, of who you are acting against?" she barked out. Inumaki smiled as he twisted her arm, making her drop her weapon.
CLANK!
"I know all about your little gang and the one who is behind you, Arachina," he whispered as he felt her still.
"Enyo," he named, and saw her eyes widen.
"How do you know that name?" she gasped as Inumaki smiled, his body now beginning to burn up with the overuse of his 'Limit Break' skill, but still, there was time.
And he was almost done.
"It doesn't matter how, but rather, what more can you tell me about him, more specifically, the real name of the one they call Enyo," and saw her eyes widen.
"Hahahaha," she laughed.
"And why would I ever do that, you damn trai..."
"AH!" her words were cut short as she screamed as he broke her arm and smiled at her.
"Because if you don't, I will make your death worse than hell; I will make it so that you suffer so much that you will beg me to end your life," he whispered ominously and saw her eye quiver in fear as he continued to twist the spear.
"I don't know. I don't..." and he stared again.
"AGHHH! BUT NO NO! STOP!" she screamed in pure agony.
"I can tell you something else, something far more useful," she began, and he frowned, interested.
"I can tell you his plan," she added, and Inumaki nodded, for that would be equally good to know.
"He plans to bring the age of Gods to an end. He wants to destroy Orario, and for that, he desires to summon the ultimate beast..." she added as she huffed, her face now pale and sweaty.
"...Nidhogg," she finished, making him frown, for this was his first time hearing such a name.
"ENOUGH!" three people jumped on the rooftop and surrounded him, and one with a rather familiar face stepped forward.
"Inumaki Herakles, step back from that girl," and she was wearing a golden armor with a sword in hand. She was the captain of Ganesha familia, Shakti Verma, someone who he rather disliked quite a bit.
Though the feeling was mutual if anything.
"Ahh, you useless bunch are finally here," he taunted as he looked at her with a raised brow, for he had no reason to play nice with her. Not that it would matter much, given that she hated him because her sister was killed by Alfia seven years ago, and she still blamed him for that.
"Get away from the Arachina, Silent. We, the Ganesha familia, will take this over from here. Your battle is done," she commanded as if she had any right, and he scoffed.
"You are late as always, Shakti. The battle was over before you and your group arrived," he said, though not truly.
"So stay out of this and let me wrap this up," as they were talking, Valetta Gerde thought to take advantage of his distraction and tried to kick him. She tried to scurry away, but Inumaki was faster as he bashed her head into the wall.
BOOM!
"Goodbye," he whispered as his body glew ominously.
"GOSPEL!"
BOOOOM!
And with that attack, he watched as her head was blown to bits, as blood covered his face once more, forming another layer atop all that was now caked onto it, as her body grew lifeless in her arms.
He pulled back his spear as he heard the Ganesha familia members curse, as his eyes met Shakti's who was glaring at him.
"I have one more thing to take care of," and with that, he turned his gaze towards the Pink District, the headquarters of the Ishtar familia, as he got ready to jump, but before he could do anything, Shakti Verma jumped in trying to stop him.
"STOP!" she shouted as she swung her blade forcing him to jump back, as her sword hit the roof, making him stop and jump back as he addressed in a cold and serious tone.
"Don't interfere, Shakti," he warned her as he opened his mouth once more.
"GOSPEL!" he screamed as she was blown back and sent tumbling back. He jumped and cut across the sky, tore through one of the walls of the massive tower in the centre of the district.
BOOM!
He tore through the Floor, as he appeared infront of the celestial Goddess of Beauty, the one who ruled over a part of Orario.
Her face was pale, her eyes filled with worry as she stood there, barely covered in anything as Inumaki looked down at her.
"Stop! Stop, I can help. I know who Enyo is! I can give you anything..." she begged, with chuckling before she smiled crookedly.
"Even myself, a Goddess of Beauty," she offered as she activated her charm, and thinking it to be effective she smirked as he stopped.
In comparison to Freya's prowess, hers were but a cheap imitation. It was what drove her to always quarrel with her because though they governed over the same domain, their powers were so different.
"Your charm doesn't work on me, Ishtar," he said as he spun his spear in his hands, and her eyes widened.
"The only thing even mildly interesting here is the information that lies in your head," he added.
"information about the real identity of the one they call Enyo!" he thundered and saw her face pale as she realized that her charm had no effect on him.
"Spare me! Spare me, and I will tell you everything!" she pleaded as she slid back as he walked towards her, and in that moment, Inumaki reached into the depth of his own power, reaching for the ominous power that he had never dared to touch to this day, as his body began to glow once more.
Yet this time, it was not a grey hue that came over him. No, it was many colors, each and every shade of the rainbow's seven, as the Goddess of Beauty's eyes dulled in the very way she had hoped his would as he gave her the command.
"Tell me what you know of the one they call Enyo!"
