Chapter 6: Meeting with Hestia, Gaining a Falna

John's footsteps echoed as he made his way to the grand mansion-like headquarters of Hephaestus' Familia. His briefcase held 500,000 Valis—a sum he hoped would smooth the way for the proposal he had in mind.

It had been two days since his system had activated, and in six more days, his raw materials shipment would arrive. He could already envision the gacha rolls he'd make with all the new points. But today, he had something else to focus on.

Hephaestus' Familia House

At the entrance to Hephaestus' Familia's mansion, John was greeted by a guard. Without wasting time, he opened his briefcase, revealing the 500,000 Valis.

"I wish to meet with Hephaestus. I have an important matter to discuss," John said firmly.

The guard nodded, surprised at the sight of so much money but immediately escorted him inside.

Inside Hephaestus' Familia

John walked into the lavish inner chambers of Hephaestus' Familia, where he was met by Hephaestus, the goddess of smithing. She was sitting at a table, looking as composed as ever. She raised an eyebrow as John approached.

"John, I assume? I've heard of you," Hephaestus said. "What brings you here today?"

John wasted no time, placing the briefcase in front of her. "I need to speak with Hestia. I want her to join me at my mansion, and I want to join her Familia as her first member."

Hephaestus's eyes narrowed, clearly intrigued but also skeptical. "And why would you want to join her Familia? You know she just descended, right? You're already one of the wealthiest men in Orario."

John leaned forward slightly. "I know, but this isn't about wealth. It's about what I can offer her. I want to give her the resources and support she needs in Orario. I'm offering this sum of 500,000 Valis for her living expenses. She will have everything she needs—shelter, comfort, security—all she has to do is give me a Falna."

Hephaestus sat back, considering the offer. "So, you want to join Hestia's Familia, even though I could offer you a position in mine? I suppose you have your reasons. Fine. You'll need to discuss it with her."

Meeting with Hestia

Not long after, Hestia entered the room. She was a small goddess, her blue hair standing out against her white dress. She took in John's presence and the large briefcase on the table, curiosity evident in her eyes.

"Hello, I'm Hestia," she greeted, though she looked unsure of what was happening. "I've been told you have an offer for me?"

John smiled warmly. "Yes. I want to offer you 500,000 Valis for living expenses. In return, I want to join your Familia as your first member."

Hestia blinked, surprised by the large sum of money. "Wait, you want to join my Familia? But why? You don't need to—"

"I do," John interrupted gently. "I've seen the potential you have. I can help you grow, and in return, I ask for the Falna. I want to become an adventurer."

Hestia hesitated. "But you already have wealth, status, and everything you could need. Why me? Why not Hephaestus?"

John explained with quiet confidence. "It's not about wealth. I want to fight, to prove myself. I also want to help you, Hestia. I believe in your potential, and I want to see both of us grow. That's why I need the Falna."

After a few moments of thought, Hestia smiled. "Alright. I can do that. You'll be my first member. I'll grant you a Falna. Let's go to your mansion, and I'll start the process."

At John's Mansion

John led Hestia back to his mansion, a large, well-maintained house that matched the wealth he had acquired through his business. Hestia looked around, impressed by the grandeur of the home.

Inside, she prepared to give John the Falna. They sat down in a quiet room, where Hestia stood over him, prepared to cast the blessing.

Hestia placed her hands gently over John's back, where the Falna would be inscribed. The glow of divine power filled the room as she chanted the words of the blessing, and the Falna was imprinted on his body.

The Falna Process

As the blessing was completed, Hestia looked down at the Falna she had inscribed on John's back. She was surprised by what she saw.

John glanced over his Falna, surprised as well. He hadn't expected to receive an additional skill. "Two skills?"

Hestia nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Yes. You've been granted Temporal Mobility, which is an extraordinary skill, allowing you to manipulate time on a personal level. But there's also another skill, Swift Strike, which is a basic enhancement of your speed and reaction time. It's not much now, but with training, it could improve and become more useful."

John's eyes lit up with excitement. "That's incredible! Two skills. I wasn't expecting that."

Hestia looked at him more carefully, still processing everything. "It's a rarity, but I've heard of some people gaining two skills when they're blessed with a Falna. Your magic stat is high, but I think the real benefit is in the skills you've received. With Temporal Mobility, you could be a formidable adventurer. And Swift Strike will definitely help in combat."

John smiled. "I'm excited to see what I can do with them. I'll work hard to improve them."

Hestia seemed pleased, though still in awe of the unexpected result. "You'll definitely be an interesting member of my Familia, that's for sure."
