Danmachi: Reaper

Chapter 6: Dungeon 2

According to Riveria, they would limit themselves to Floor 8 and would ascend to the surface in the afternoon.

Riveria originally only intended to see Kelvin's fighting techniques firsthand when facing Monsters, especially since there was a clear difference between fighting humans and Monsters.

In front of her, Kelvin used the spear he carried to kill the many Kabold that came at him, occasionally he would throw his spear at Kabold that were at a distance, then take a dagger as his second weapon.

But, what left Riveria speechless was that Kelvin had a habit of throwing his weapon at the enemy every time!

At first, they thought when Kelvin threw his sword at Gareth was to disrupt his concentration and break his focus. As it turned out, they were all wrong!

Kelvin was really a reckless person who liked to throw weapons when he felt excited!

He could be sure of that because when throwing his spear to kill the kabold from a distance, Kelvin had an excited grin on his lips.

Then, when he ended up with a dagger in his hand, he would also throw it in the same way before grinning like before.

Right now, Kelvin didn't have a weapon, and he was fighting with both hands, but he was still able to gain the upper hand and even crack Kabold's head with just his fists alone.

Riveria rubbed her forehead, it seemed like their new member had a bad habit when he fought.

Even so, it couldn't be denied that Kelvin's strength was above average. Compared to other novice adventurers, Kelvin could be called the strongest.

Meanwhile, Ais was standing next to him while watching Kelvin fight with the kabold horde that kept attacking towards him. She was instructed to remain silent and not get directly involved in this fight. So, Ais didn't think much and just stood silently next to Riveria.

But, the glint in her eyes clearly radiated strongly when she saw the Kelvin who was fighting at the moment.

Plus, Riveria certainly saw the luminous glint in Ais' eyes when she looked at Kelvin. Sighing, she began to wonder if her daughter was growing up so fast?

Kelvin was never afraid of anything. He loved challenges, especially when it came to fighting.

Like right now, Kelvin could easily split Kabold's body into two pieces. He threw his dagger with force, and it hit the eye of the kabold standing not far from him.

Every kabold that Kelvin managed to kill would disappear in a puff of black smoke, leaving behind the remaining Magic Stone. Even so, Kelvin had no intention of collecting all those Magic Stones now, in his eyes, there was only fighting and fighting.

About ten minutes later, the 1st floor was completely silent, all the monsters that appeared were finished off by Kelvin alone.

Riveria and Ais stared at this scene calmly, while the former had slightly guessed this outcome, but she didn't expect that Kelvin would do it so quickly.

"Good job, I guess the first floor really wasn't a problem for you, huh."

Riveria smiled as she walked up to Kelvin.

Generally, when first receiving Falna, one would arrogantly feel stronger and not realize their own strength.

As a result, many of them died upstairs because of their carelessness. Whether it was due to not knowing the terrain, lacking information about monsters, or because they were overconfident in their strength.

At first, Riveria also thought Kelvin was like that. Although he could defeat Gareth, but Gareth back then wasn't fighting seriously.

Moreover, Kelvin was blind(not literally), so he would have a harder time facing many monsters even if it was on the top floor.

But, looking at the scene in front of her, Riveria's previous worries were like an empty bottle.

"I guess so, there aren't too many monsters on the 1st floor anyway. It's not a problem for me."

Kelvin walked over while picking his weapon back up. In the fight just now, he had thrown the spear borrowed from Finn and the dagger lent by Familia several times to attack the monsters.

That made him have to fight with his bare hands against the monsters on the 1st floor. Even so, with his physical strength alone, Kelvin could blast monsters with his fists, so the weapon issue didn't really affect him when on the 1st floor.

"Even so, your habit of throwing weapons seems like a problem."

Riveria knew Kelvin's way of fighting was unique, in fact, she had thought Kelvin's fighting style was the same as Ais.

But, the two were clearly different. Ais never threw her sword in battle, while Kelvin..., well, he had thrown his spear a few times while shouting "die" in previous battles.

"Ahaha, what can I do..., I still have a spare weapon after all!"

Kelvin could only scratch his head while laughing wryly. The feeling when throwing a weapon to kill the enemy was really thrilling to him.

"That's not the case ...."

Riveria rubbed her forehead while letting out a tired sigh.

Even so, she at least knew the intent of Kelvin's actions.

When Kelvin threw his spear, it was when he saw Kelvin was about to be invaded by several kabold at once.

In his opinion, Kelvin did that to reduce the number of enemies coming towards him.

The advantage of spear users was that they had an advantage when fighting 1vs1 enemies, while they also had a wider attack range than sword users.

Meanwhile, their weaknesses could be clearly seen; spear users were at a disadvantage when having to face multiple enemies at once.

Kelvin's decision to throw the spear was so that he could kill the Kabold at the back, so that he couldn't help the other Kabold approaching him.

That way, he could fight the remaining two Kabolds quickly.

"But, I'm a little curious..., sorry if it's rude, but how do you know the enemy's position if you can't see...?"

Riveria asked hesitantly, even Ais who was next to her also raised her ears to listen silently.

Although Riveria knew that Kelvin wasn't really blind, but the others still thought that Kelvin was blind considering he was wearing an eye patch.

But, the thing that made Riveria curious was, how Kelvin could know the enemy's position, even he could precisely know the movements around him, as if he could see through his blindfold.

"Hmm? Isn't that easy?" Kelvin tilted his head towards Riveria, "Monsters are mindless creatures, they don't know strategies to fight, all they can do is attack. Moreover, they often make loud screams which makes me know their position very well."

"No..., it's actually not that easy...."

Riveria frowned, even though Kelvin said he knew the enemy's position from the sounds they made. That didn't answer how he could know the surrounding terrain so well.

Keep in mind, Kelvin was currently walking like he didn't have any problems with his eyesight. In fact, he was wearing an eye patch, which made his vision completely impaired.

Moreover, the terrain around them was also quite complicated with many rocks everywhere. But, Kelvin could avoid all of that as if he could see everything.

Kelvin also showed signs that he could tell the enemy's location, the number of enemies, and even what moves they were making.

Obviously, this wasn't a simple matter, as Riveria himself believed not many people could do what Kelvin did.

First Class Adventurers might not be many in Orario, and they were all High Class Adventurers which were probably the strongest in Orario.

But, Riveria wasn't sure they could do the same thing.

In the end, Riveria didn't get the answers she wanted, and they decided to go to a deeper floor.
