Chapter 32: Thirsty.
Kopii decided it didn't matter right now. They had saved him, asking for nothing in return. He didn't even know who they were. So why worry about it? Kopii could only thank his luck. Maybe he was just destined to be saved. With these thoughts, Kopii fell asleep. The next morning…
Kopii got out of bed, got dressed, but instead of his bow, he decided to take his sword. He wanted to refresh his swordsmanship skills. Leaving the "Blue Pharmacy," Kopii headed straight for the Valion Tower. Entering, he felt the familiar atmosphere. For the first time, Kopii decided to go down without his half-mask. After all, there was no need to hide his face anymore. This was no longer his village.
Kopii decided not to linger and headed straight for the entrance to the dungeon. He decided to run to the sixth floor, skipping all the monsters he encountered. Reaching the sixth floor, Kopii finally heard the sound he had been longing to hear – the sound of a monster being born. He looked at the source of the sound and saw a warlike shadow. It was alone. Kopii rushed towards it without hesitation. The shadow responded in kind.
The sword in Kopii's hand whistled, slicing through the air. The warlike shadow responded with a ferocious roar, baring its claws. The clang of metal and the beastly roar merged into a cacophony of battle. Kopii moved quickly, dodging the shadow's attacks, calculating each strike. The blade of his sword slid across the dark flesh, leaving glowing trails behind, until the shadow crumbled to dust.
After the kill, Kopii watched as the warlike shadow disappeared, and the magic stone fell. A muffled sound echoed, and the sword fell from his hands. Kopii collapsed to his knees.
AAA… AAA… Kopii screamed, clutching his head with his hands. He didn't understand what was happening. After killing the warlike shadow, he suddenly felt hatred for everything, and that feeling came over him again… He wanted more, he wanted to quench his thirst.
Aaa, I need more, I need to quench my thirst! Kopii picked up his sword, rose from his knees, and ran wherever his eyes looked. He didn't understand what he was doing. His mind was filled with only one thing – thirst. Need more. Kopii ran with a single goal – to kill, to quench his thirst.
Where…
Where…
Where…
Where…
Kopii shouted, continuing to run, and finally he heard the sound of a monster being born. He immediately headed towards it. It was a toad. It shot out its tongue, but Kopii simply cut it, closing the distance. He unhesitatingly plunged his sword into the toad's eye. It didn't have time to close, as Kopii repeated the attack again and again until it disappeared, leaving behind a magic stone that fell to the dungeon floor.
Not enough… It's too little! Need more!!! - Kopii shouted, rushing off again. He killed all the monsters he encountered, but his thirst grew stronger and stronger.
There aren't enough… Need more, more, more, more!
Kopii descended to the seventh floor of the dungeon, not stopping for a second. He ran and finally saw needle rabbits. There were quite a few of them.
Kopii felt a wave of madness overwhelm him. He rushed at the rabbits, the sword flashing in the dim light of the dungeon, cutting them to pieces. Blood splattered everywhere, but Kopii didn't stop. He moved like a possessed man, feeling no fatigue, only a thirst that devoured him from within. Each killed rabbit only intensified this feeling, spurring him on to new killings.
The thirst demanded more and more, and Kopii could not resist it. The rabbits disappeared, leaving behind only magic stones, which Kopii didn't even notice.
Kopii continued to run, feeling neither pain nor fatigue. He just felt the thirst that completely captured his mind. He couldn't stop.
It's so little… I need more.
Little… Little… Little… - Kopii whispered, speeding up his run to the limit. Moments later, Kopii pounced on the killer ants. There were a lot of them. But Kopii didn't care. He chopped and slashed, giving the ants no chance. The sword danced in his hands, like an extension of his mad will. Acid splattered, chitinous shells cracked under the blows, but Kopii felt nothing but all-consuming thirst. The ants seemed to multiply, but their number didn't matter. Kopii was a whirlwind of death, sweeping everything in its path. He continued until the last ant crumbled to dust, leaving behind only a mountain of magic stones. But the thirst didn't subside, it only flared up with renewed force.
Kopii gasped for breath, but continued to run, his legs carrying him deeper into the dungeon. He saw killer ants again, probably attracted by pheromones. Kopii rushed towards them without hesitation.
Kopii furiously attacked the ants, the sword flashing in the dim light, stained with crimson light. He chopped, stabbed, smashed, giving the insect swarm no respite. Chitinous bodies flew into pieces, acid burned through his clothes, but Kopii felt no pain. Thirst drove him forward, forcing him to move faster, stronger, more mercilessly. Each killed ant only fueled his appetite, making him want more.
He fought until the last ant turned to dust. A mountain of magic stones grew under his feet, but Kopii paid no attention to them. He was gasping for breath, his heart was pounding in his chest, but the thirst did not recede. "More! I need more!" he shouted into the void, his voice cracking into a wheeze.
Kopii didn't know how much time had passed. He remembered only the unbearable thirst and everything. Kopii didn't understand how he got here. He roughly understood that he had somehow ended up on the third floor again. Kopii tried to get up, but couldn't. His whole body trembled, refusing to listen to him. Kopii looked around and saw only small magic stones. He no longer felt hatred or thirst. Continuing to examine everything around him, Kopii's gaze focused on his body. His whole body ached and throbbed, demanding rest.
His clothes were torn again. Kopii saw his hip bag, opened it and took a healing potion, which had miraculously remained intact, and drank it in one gulp. It became easier for Kopii to move, and then he tried to get up again. With difficulty, he was able to get up, but his legs were still a little shaky. Kopii drank a second potion, and then he was able to move normally. He headed to the second floor, fleeing from all the monsters. Kopii was lucky that there were many low-ranking adventurers, so it was not difficult for him to escape from the monsters. As he ran past the adventurers, one of them tripped him, and Kopii fell. The whole group of adventurers burst out laughing.
"Where are you running? Are you scared of goblins? Running to mommy's skirt?" After these words, they burst out laughing again.
"Run, run! There's no place for such weaklings and cowards here, just scum like you. Cowards who always run away."
Kopii got up and continued to run. He felt their disdainful glances on him and heard the words after him:
"Look, he didn't even say a word! He was so scared, hahahahaha."
"Hey, hey, quiet, or he'll pass out from fear, hahahah."
"Just trash."
Kopii continued to run, the sound of their laughter fading, and finally he reached the first floor of the Valion Tower.
"Finally," Kopii said with relief. He immediately headed for the exit. He just wanted to come and fall on his bed, just relax, enjoy the softness of the mattress, but before that he needed to take a bath. But first he needed to get to the "Blue Pharmacy", which seemed impossible for Kopii. The run that he arranged in the dungeon only aggravated Kopii's condition.
Each step for Kopii was a feat. With each step, he realized that he would not reach the "Blue Pharmacy." Kopii had already started to fall, when suddenly someone caught him. He felt someone's supporting arms. Kopii looked up and saw a familiar face. It was Miyaha.
"Here you are, Kopii. I was already starting to worry. I see you didn't listen to my warning not to push your body to such a state."
"I'm sorry, Miyaha-sama," Kopii looked down, he was ashamed to look Miyaha in the eye.
"Well, okay, Kopii, let's forget about this topic. The main thing is that you are alive, and that's it. But still, you pushed yourself so hard that you can't even walk on your own, Kopii. Don't overload yourself like that."
"Okay, Miyaha-sama," Kopii agreed with everything Miyaha told him.
