Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Transformation
"My Princess, welcome to the World of Qi, technology created to shield and protect humanity from demons. Although it wasn't developed solely by The Vermax Empire, we utilize it to advance humanity."
The voice of Captain Rudeus echoed as he made his way into a building. Walking beside him was the Princess of the Vermax Empire. Both were dressed in their battle suits, currently inside the Qi Tech Headquarters of The Vermax Empire, the Qi's base location.
The headquarters in the royal capital of the Empire was where battle suits were created and demonic cores were modified. It was also the location for the transformation of demonic hearts into demonic cores through their technology.
"Wow, I expected it to be quite big, but I never imagined it would be this enormous!" Princess Lily exclaimed, her face brightening with a smile as she surveyed the bustling soldiers and scientists around her.
This was a restricted location, and Captain Rudeus's presence here indicated he had received the approval of the Military Supreme Commander and the Emperor because of Princess Lily.
Having completed her Demon Hunting Training Program, it was now time to activate her core!
"Yes, you can say that again, Princess. I'm sure you know why you're here, right? Since you were targeted by the Deathmaker, the Emperor is aware that others may want to kill you, so he wants you to be strong."
"Your core will be activated since you are now certified to be registered under the Crimson Lion Company, under my supervision," Captain Rudeus said, pride evident in his smile as he took care of the Princess.
"Nice! Activating my core means I can use this suit effectively, right?" Princess Lily asked.
"Yes, of course. But because you are the Princess of this Empire, the Emperor wants you to receive special treatment; that's why you are here. Others won't have access to the main headquarters," Captain Rudeus explained.
As they walked around the building, many greeted the Princess immediately upon recognizing her. The demonic cores were categorized into four types: Green Cores were built for healing, created from water-type demons.
Water-type demons were blessed with healing properties, hence the green cores. The Blue Cores were meant for support, designed to enhance the speed and instincts of their users.
The Red Cores were the most offensive and destructive type of cores in the Corp! Captain Rudeus was a Red Core user, giving him significant offensive force, though he struggled with healing due to not being a healing type. He preferred to avoid injuries in battle against demons; he was smart after all.
They entered a room, greeted by the scientists present, including some military officers in charge of the process. Princess Lily took a deep breath and smiled brightly.
"Welcome, Princess Lily. I'm sure you know why you're here, right?" a scientist asked.
"Yes, I am! To activate my core, right? But I don't even know what color my core possesses; it hasn't been awakened since I donned the suit," Princess Lily replied, directed to a bed where she lay down.
"Yes, we are aware of that, Princess. That's because you weren't certified yet to become a Huntsman. Now that you have completed the Hunting Corp Training Program, it's time to awaken your core," a military officer explained, hands behind his back.
Everyone stood by, watching the process. Princess Lily laid on the bed as they connected a tube to her core, transferring data into it.
"Data has been released to the core; it's time to awaken!"
A systematic voice rang out as Princess Lily screamed in pain. She felt the data spreading throughout her body, merging with her battle suit to enhance her physical prowess.
"Damn... Argghhhhhhh! This is so painful!" Princess Lily screamed, feeling heavy pressure as the powers of the battle suit integrated with the cells in her body.
"Captain Rudeus, didn't you inform the Princess that awakening the core may be a painful process?" one of the scientists asked, adjusting his glasses in an attempt to calm her down.
"I did, and she has been expecting the pain after all. She is a strong woman," Captain Rudeus replied with a smile as the empty core on her battle suit suddenly began to glow brightly.
A color that was neither red, yellow, blue, nor green... A White Core!
"Wow, a white core? This is the first time we will ever have a White Core Huntsman!" one of the scientists exclaimed, grinning widely as the Princess began to calm. She could feel power flowing through her body.
Recovering from the intense pain, she rested against the bed as they withdrew the tube from her chest. Princess Lily stood up, checking her body now encased in the battle suit.
"It feels so much lighter now! So this is what awakening a core feels like, huh?" Princess Lily asked herself, astonished. She could see her core glowing brightly.
"A White Core? What does it signify?" Princess Lily inquired.
"We don't really have a definitive answer, Princess, since you are the first white core user to exist. However, the purity of the White Core signifies divinity. I'm confident you may surpass the strength of even a red core user," one of the scientists replied, beaming.
"Congratulations, Princess Lily, on awakening your white core! Now it's time to activate your battle suit and your core. Let's test your prowess," a military officer said as Princess Lily nodded in agreement.
She walked into a space where they injected her with several wires, attempting to access her powers. Princess Lily took a deep breath and closed her eyes. They pressed the button... Activating her suit.
She could feel her blood boiling, yet she remained calm, withstanding the pressure!
"Wow, the Princess is even more durable than I expected! The White Core is unprecedented, and its powers are impressive. Her feats could even earn her a captain position in the company since she is new," the head scientist remarked, holding a tablet.
After assessing her core, Princess Lily discovered her White Core Existence Value was currently at 51%!
"An Existence Value of fifty-one percent? Wow... This girl is a prodigy! Report this to the Emperor; he will surely be pleased!" one of the military officers said with excitement.
Princess Lily slowly climbed down from the stage and made her way toward Captain Rudeus, her official captain since he hailed from one of the noble houses of the Vermax Empire, giving him the right to train her.
"Captain, Captain... I did it! I awakened my core and now feel quite powerful! I just need to get used to this feeling," Princess Lily exclaimed, her face glowing with joy as Captain Rudeus nodded, equally pleased.
"Princess Lily, you have made history by being the first to possess a White Core. The common cores to awaken are red, blue, yellow, and green, but you have awakened a white core!"
"I wonder what the direct properties of your white core are," Captain Rudeus pondered.
"Well, we could find out, can't we? During training... Before my first mission as a member of the Crimson Lion Company, I could test my strength with my battle suit," Princess Lily suggested with enthusiasm.
As royalty, she was gifted a battle suit directly crafted from a Six Marker Demon, a type of demon with special marks, far more powerful than ordinary or eyed demons. The Six Marker Demon she wore had been slain by Prince Adrian years ago!
"Yes, I will assess your strength so you can utilize it effectively, but first, you will need weapons. Your battle suit possesses special weaponry, right?" Captain Rudeus asked, smiling.
"Ah yes, I was told to click this if I wanted to see my weapons," Princess Lily replied, clicking a button on her neck, causing two specially crafted daggers to appear in her hands.
"So you are a dual blade user, an assassin-type Huntsman... I will train you well," Captain Rudeus said, his eyes gleaming with pride. He was a longsword user by nature.
"But wait, you mentioned that only four colored cores have been officially awakened by Huntsmen, right? But I think I've heard of a Black Core user. Was that a lie?" Princess Lily asked, confused.
"No, it wasn't a lie, Princess. Just as you have awakened a White Core and made history, there is also someone who has awakened a Black Core and made history as the first Black Core user," Captain Rudeus explained.
"But he is also the only Black Core user to exist, and that man is the infamous Deathmaker," he added, causing Princess Lily's eyes to widen in shock. She instantly recalled seeing his chest.
The Black Core on his chest was shrouded in mystery. Now she understood.
"So that bastard is a Black Core user, huh? I wonder what his properties truly are. I will hunt him down soon," Princess Lily vowed to herself as she made her way out of the test room, followed closely by Captain Rudeus, now her official captain.
She would soon be given the red cape, marking her as a Crimson Lion Huntsman. All her brothers were Huntsmen by nature, even her father.
"The Deathmaker... I wonder what he truly is," Princess Lily mused quietly.
Got it! Here's the remainder of Chapter 10 from your story
---
Brimming with dark auras, The Deathmaker charged against countless hordes of demons coming his way like it's nothing. He held his artifact firmly, his specially crafted sword made for him. He chopped off heads of mid-level demons like it was nothing while speeding. He leapt high to evade an attack from a demon, landing behind it and causing its blood to scatter across the ground.
"Killing is quite fun, isn't it?" a voice asked right out of nowhere!
The Deathmaker slowly turned to see the Blood Sword making his way into the Training Hall. The Deathmaker once captured demons personally to train himself; he stored them and was now releasing them, killing them during training so their bodies could be used for battle suits!
"Blood Sword? What are you doing here? You can see I'm training, right?" The Deathmaker asked when he sighed. His Eye-Path was on him. The Deathmaker was often known as the Calamity King!
"I can see that, and you don't have to be rude about it. I only came to see how your training is going. It seems the Western Empires are tripling the bounties on your head, boy. What are you going to do about it?" The Blood Sword asked.
"Nothing exactly. They aren't my target. I couldn't be bothered by something as low as bounty offers," The Deathmaker answered, beheading a demon that charged against him.
"Oh really? Well, I will be making my way to the Southern Region since I have a mission to complete. A King in the South wants me to execute those who are trying to usurp his throne secretly."
"But there is something I need from you," The Blood Sword said.
"Oh? And what is that?" The Deathmaker calmly asked when he suddenly sheathed his blade. He was done killing all the demons and cleaned the blood off his suit. You could see his black core.
"The Scroll of the Ten Slayers. It possesses information regarding a special sword art that I intend on mastering," The Blood Sword said when The Deathmaker chuckled softly, sitting on the pile of corpses he created.
"Yeah, I could give you that, but you don't expect it to be free, right? What do you have for me?" The Deathmaker asked, and the Blood Sword chuckled softly. The Blood Sword was a red core user, and he was quite ruthless.
"I know that already, and besides, I have a gift. In exchange for the Scroll of the Ten Slayers, I will give you a name," The Blood Sword said.
"A name?" The Deathmaker asked.
"Yes, a name. There are five names responsible for the Baylor Slaughter Incident. Prince Adrian of the Vermax Empire has been named, and you killed him. You are still looking for four names, right?"
"I did my research, and I figured out one of the four who are responsible for the Baylor Slaughter Incident. Will you give me the Scroll of the Ten Slayers in exchange for this name?" The Blood Sword asked.
"He-he-he-he. You think I would decline such an offer, huh? Tell me... the name!"
"The Duke of Greed, Memphis Zaichi. He is currently one of the top five most powerful merchants of the West. He is part of the five who were responsible for the Baylor Slaughter Incident," The Blood Sword answered.
"He-he-he-he! That's why I love ya, Bloody Sword. You can have the scroll, and I will add one to thank ya. So those five are really conspirators of the West, huh? I guess I have a target to kill," The Deathmaker said when he laid back on the corpses of demons he slaughtered, chuckling softly. He had seen his next target!
