Collecting Titles In The Apocalypse

The word she said reverberated in his ears a couple of times.

Unbelievably, the moment Manager Sai spoke about the creature's origin, the creature's eyes also lit up. Then suddenly, a heart-rendering growl came out of a sudden sending tremble and terror into the place. He even saw some broken buildings collapsing and the ground broke.

He bet he would instantly piss his pants if ever he was there in front of it.

A Demonic Tuna. As he stared at it, lost in his thoughts, he couldn't help but think its figure was indeed identical to a tuna fish. But this one was more bizarre. However, if you took out those horns and limbs, it indeed looked like a ferocious big tuna.

"Is it real…?"

Unaware of a stern look by his side, he heard her say, "We are hiding it from the public, but that thing was one hundred percent real. And it was wreaking havoc!"

Right at that moment, the light inside the room turned to blinking red. It was a warning sign, he supposed.

Then someone shouted.

"The D-Barrier is in danger of breaking!" One of the staff in front of another monitor shouted.

"It's attacking directly the D-Barrier! It's trying to invade!"

"No way!" 

"What are we going to do?!"

He wasn't sure what they were talking about, but everybody was panicking. Perhaps the pressure of the Demonic Tuna's howl was causing damage to the so-called D-Barrier, not that he knew what it was.

"Everyone! Calm down!" Manager Sai shouted. Her voice carried so much strength and authority. It seemed effective because everyone turned silent immediately.

"Report about Agent Black's location!"

"She had just passed by the train station! A few kilometers away from the Demonic Tuna's location!"

In the digital map on the widescreen, Dante saw the blue dot moving fast, approaching the yellow dot.

A silhouette in a black outfit that didn't fit your daily normal dress code or even in an occasional outfit suddenly appeared on the screen. She seemed like a cosplayer in some sci-fi movie.

He saw Manager Sai giving instructions to the person in the grey suit.

"Agent Black! Do you hear me?! This is Headquarter Commander!"

"Yes, commander! I heard you clearly!"

Dante heard a soft-sounding voice responding. For some reason, it sounds familiar to him. 

"Alright, I'll make it brief and clear. That thing is a B-Rank Code: Yellow! Can you handle it?!" Said the staff in a grey suit. It seemed like she was the headquarters commander, but Manager Sai held more authority in general.

"I'll do my best!" The person known as Agent Black replied.

"I see. But just to make sure, we are sending some squads to back you up!"

"It's up to you! And also… can you send some cleaners afterward!"

"Oh~ you've got some confidence as always…" she glanced at Manager Sai, who in return nodded her head. "Alright, we're sending the available unit."

After a couple of minutes, Agent Black's voice came again.

"Commander, I've arrived at the location and spotted the target! Permission to engage!"

"Alright, just be careful!"

Dante's eyes turned wide. He couldn't count how many times he was surprised since the day of confession, but there was another level of surprise in front of his eyes.

Agent Black produced an object from out of nowhere. It looked like a weapon, but not your typical weapon. He didn't know how to describe it, but it looked like a long-barrel cannon rifle. It was huge but Agent Black's slender figure lifted it as though it was weightless.

After aiming, a brilliant energy was gathered in the gun's transparent cylinder flute. It was probably accumulating energy. Seconds later, a bluish energy beam shot forward to the top of the skyscraper building. The Demonic Tuna who noticed it late was hit by it. 

BOOM!

A deafening explosion happened.

"It's a hit!"

"Hurray!"

The staff inside the room cheered loudly. However, everyone froze a second later. GWAAAARRR!!! A more bizarre howl came out, stopping everyone's cheer and making them quiet and tense once again.

When the smoke from the explosion disappeared, the figure of the Demonic Tuna appeared. Provoked by the sudden attack, it looked more heinous than before.

It wasn't the tuna Dante wished to eat.

Although it managed to survive the beam, they noticed a burn mark on its tough skin and one of its horns was nowhere to be seen.

"Although the beam didn't hit it squarely, it hurt it a little," they heard Manager Sai said.

Dante agreed with her.

Suddenly, the Demonic Tuna's figure disappeared from the top of the skyscraper building. It flew at a speed that was hard to follow. There was another explosion after that. But this time, it was at the location of Agent Black.

'So fast!' Dante thought in shock. He just blinked his eyes and that already happened. Everyone looked as stunned as him. 

The display on the screen was obstructed by a cloud of dust.

"Agent Black! Are you okay?!" The commander asked.

"Y-yes… I m-managed to block it somehow…"

From the rubbles, Agent Black came out and said that. Although Dante couldn't see her face because her upper face was covered by a mask, he knew at that moment she was grimacing from pain. There was even blood dripping from her mouth.

It was clear that the sudden attack hurt her. He couldn't help but harden his jaw. What was this? There was a pain in his chest? He didn't understand why he felt that. It felt like he was looking at an important person in pain.

He suddenly felt like he wanted to jump there and help her. That's impossible, he wasn't some kind of hero. And besides, he didn't have any qualifications to fight against such a horrific creature. He would die instantly just by standing in front of it.

"C-Commander, I'm going to increase the power of my attack, please give me permission."

"What!? B-But t-that's dangerous!"

"This is the only way. This thing is so powerful. I underestimated it a little!" Her voice was full of resolve.

The commander seemed like she was pondering, hesitating for a moment. But as she was doing that, Agent Black was in a dire situation. She was losing the fight. The monster was so strong. It's just a matter of time before she loses.

Their fight continued and it was clear that Agent Black was at a disadvantage. Although she was strong, the Demonic Tuna was on another level. She was only barely blocking the Demonic Tuna's attacks by using her massive weapon as a shield.

If that continued, her weapon would break before she could do anything.

"What's there to be pondering about?! If she needs it to defeat that thing, why not give her permission!"

Amidst the silence and hesitation, a powerful shout came which awakened all the people around him.
