CHRONICLES OF THE MAGIC USER'S THE AWAKENING

Chapter 27: CHAPTER 27: THE DEMON KING'S CHALLENGE

It took three relentless years of searching and studying, but Jay eventually discovered the ancient magic that could unlock the portal to the realm where his parents were imprisoned. With his heart pounding in anticipation, he gathered Max and Tanya, preparing to enact the spell that could change everything.

As the portal opened, a swirling vortex of light and energy filled the air, casting an ethereal glow over the remnants of the Combat Magic Core. Jay stepped forward, his breath hitching in his throat.

A familiar figure emerged from the luminous depths—a tall man with shaggy brown hair and kind eyes, followed closely by a woman with a gentle smile and fiery red hair. Jenson Wolfect and Joss Roaring, his long-lost parents.

Tears of joy streamed down Jay's face as he rushed forward, embracing them tightly. The weight of their absence, the years of longing and heartache, finally lifted from his shoulders. "I thought I'd never see you again," he choked out, his voice trembling with emotion.

"We're here now, Jay," Jenson said, his voice warm and reassuring. "You've done so much to bring us back. We're so proud of you."

Joss smiled through her tears, cupping Jay's face in her hands. "You've grown into such a brave young man."

Yet amid the celebration, shadows loomed. The air felt charged with an unsettling energy, and Jay couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Alexi Centry and Trefectaus had vanished after the battle, but the tension still hung in the air like a storm cloud, waiting to break.

Five Years of Peace

Five years passed, and the city slowly began to heal. The remnants of the Combat Magic Core were dismantled, and a new era of peace emerged. Jay, Max, and Tanya worked tirelessly to ensure that the Core's oppressive grip would never return.

But tranquility was a fragile thing, and darkness often lurked just beyond the horizon.

One fateful day, as Jay walked through the city, he felt a chill run down his spine. The sky darkened, and a voice echoed through the streets, sending shivers through the hearts of all who heard it.

"Tiffany Scott !" the voice called, deep and resonant. "It is I, Alexi Centry your Father! , and it's time for you to come home and take your place as the bride to my successor!"

Jay's heart raced, anger boiling within him. He stepped forward, fists clenched, ready to defend what he had fought so hard to protect. "You won't take her anywhere!" he shouted, his voice carrying through the crowd.

"Boy, this has nothing to do with you," Alexi sneered, his eyes narrowing. "Stand down, or I will be forced to kill you."

"I won't allow you to control her!" Jay shot back, lightning crackling around him, illuminating his fierce determination. "She will make her own decisions."

"Very well, then," Alexi smirked, his demeanor shifting from amusement to cold menace. "This means war."

In the dim glow of twilight, the air crackled with tension as Tiffany stood before her father, Alexi, the formidable Demon King. Her heart pounded in her chest, torn between loyalty to her family and love for Jay, the boy who dared to challenge the very fabric of their worlds.

"Father, please! I know you only want what is best for me. But I love Jay and he loves me, and there is nothing you can do to change that," Tiffany pleaded, tears streaming down her cheeks. The weight of her emotions bore down on her, but she held her ground, determined to fight for her love.

Alexi's expression flickered momentarily, revealing a sliver of the father he once was. Yet, that softness quickly morphed into a cold, calculating gaze directed at Jay. "Boy, if you truly love my daughter and wish to marry her, you must first defeat me in combat. If you win, I will grant you the right to marry her, and you will bear the title of Demon King. But if you lose, you shall die and become one of my servants. Do you accept these terms?" His tone was both a challenge and a promise of doom.

"I accept your challenge," Jay replied, unwavering and resolute.

With a sinister smile, Alexi declared, "Very well. One year from now, a portal to the demon realm will open here, and our duel shall take place. See you then." With that, he vanished into the shadows, leaving behind an echo of laughter that sent chills down their spines.

"Jay, don't do this. If you go to the demon realm, you will be trapped forever. Even if you manage to win, you will still have to spend a thousand years on the throne of the Demon King to absorb its power before you can return," Tiffany warned, her voice trembling with fear.

Jay placed his hands on her shoulders, his eyes sparkling with determination. "Well then! There is only one option left, and that is for you to come with me and rule by my side. Because I have no intentions of losing," he said, a confident smile breaking through the uncertainty.

"Very well, you leave me no choice. I will come with you," Tiffany replied, her heart swelling with a mix of fear and courage.

As they prepared for the journey, their friends Maxwell and Tanya joined the cause. "Wait, we are coming with you as well! You need someone to watch your back, and there is no one better than your best friends," they asserted, standing shoulder to shoulder, ready for the challenge that lay ahead.

As the day of reckoning approached, Jay's family gathered to bid him farewell. The air was thick with anticipation and determination. "Give him hell, my boy. Show that Demon King the power of your family's bloodline," his grandmother Jamia encouraged, her eyes blazing with fierce pride.

"Will do, Grandma," Jay replied, steeling himself for the battle ahead. With Tiffany, Maxwell, and Tanya by his side, they stepped into the swirling portal that would lead them to the demon realm.

The world they entered was a dark and twisted reflection of their own. Shadows danced ominously, and the air crackled with malevolence. As they navigated the eerie landscape, the weight of Alexi's presence loomed large, an ever-present threat waiting to strike.

At last, they arrived at the arena where destiny awaited. Alexi stood at the center, a wicked grin plastered on his face. "Welcome, lightning boy. Are you ready to meet your end?"

"I'm not afraid of you," Jay retorted, the lightning within him surging with defiance.

The clash began, a whirlwind of power and fury. Jay summoned the energy of the storm, lightning crackling around him as he fought with everything he had. But Alexi, fueled by centuries of darkness, was a formidable opponent. The battle raged on, each strike echoing their intertwined fates.

"Is this all you've got?" Alexi taunted, his eyes shimmering with malice. In a swift motion, he broke Jay's right arm and impaled him with a spear, a look of triumph washing over his face. "Give up. There's no way you can win, for I have existed for thousands of years."

Through the pain, Jay stood tall, ripping the spear from his body. "I refuse to let you win," he gritted, blood spilling onto the ground as he fought back with renewed vigor. Tiffany's love surged through him, a beacon of hope that fueled his determination.

With one final surge of energy, Jay unleashed a powerful blast of lightning that struck Alexi with an intensity that shook the arena. As the dust settled, Alexi fell to his knees, the wicked grin replaced by a begrudging respect.

"You have earned your place, Lightning King," he spat before dissolving into shadows, defeated.

Tiffany rushed to Jay's side, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy. "You did it!" she exclaimed, enveloping him in an embrace that felt like home.

As the dust settled, the journey of Jay Wolfect, the Lightning King, had only just begun. With newfound powers, a united front against darkness, and love that transcended realms, he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The battle had been won, but the war for freedom and love was just beginning, and together, they would confront it all, side by side.
