Chapter 728: The Three Sides of 30th July — Voldemort calls Death Eaters!

Many notable events were occurring simultaneously on the cold night of 30th July.

On one side, the White Serpent Pirates were discussing their plans for the upcoming 2nd Year at Hogwarts, Dimensional Jumps, and Herpo the Foul's Horcruxes within Hogwarts, now watched over by 12th-floor monsters.

These monsters had their powers sealed, yes.

Anyway, much time had already passed between the Timeline shredding Black Ghost of the Millennial Magical Alliance to pieces and now.

The upcoming battles were going to be much more complex and difficult, Kai knew.

On the other side, at Number Four, Privet Drive, Harry was celebrating his twelfth birthday alone, but not without a wide grin on his face.

Uncle Vernon had stuffed all his Hogwarts items in the cupboard.

He had even padlocked Hedwig, Harry's owl, in the cage so that nobody would share letters with the boy.

Despite this, all around Harry, there were letters, dancing and singing—silently, of course.

Ron had sent him a tiny birthday cake that Mrs. Weasley had baked for him.

Draco… yes, Harry hadn't believed it at first, but Draco Malfoy had sent him a Happy Birthday card that was full of tales of all the places the Malfoys had already visited last month for vacation.

It's like there's no threat of Voldemort, Lord of Azkaban, and the Yellow Warlock for the Malfoys, Harry thought, feeling unnerved.

The only thing he could take solace in was that he had gained a strange power last year.

Harry Potter was now a Hallow of The Cult of The Scion of Death — whatever that meant. Now, he had a Spell — Brave Heart — that let him see into the future briefly.

Along with him, Draco, Ron, Daphne, Hermione, and even Black had gained such Spells, each vastly different and stranger than the other.

However, something felt off to Harry.

Shaking the feeling off, he looked at Daphne and Hermione's letters, both sharing homework notes with him.

The girls didn't know that Harry couldn't finish his homework even if he wanted to. Still, it was something.

Harry put their letters on one side and opened the letter he had least expected to receive.

When he opened Darcie's letter, something other than a letter fell out of it.

Harry fumbled among the papers to see what it was.

His jaw dropped.

Money—Muggle money.

Only a year ago, Harry had come to know that his parents had left him a fortune, secured under the Gringotts, the Wizard's bank.

But, for someone who lived among the Muggles, and for someone who lived with the Dursleys, Harry was as poor as he was rich.

Getting some real money in hand was a big deal for Harry.

Very practical… Harry remarked, putting the money away. That's Darcie for you.

Then he came to the last letter.

Even before opening it, Harry couldn't help but laugh.

Black did that to him, bringing a foolish grin on his face.

When Harry opened the letter, there was no card in it, but a short piece of paper, wrapped around a tiny vial.

— For the love of my life, Mr. Dursley!

"Hahaha!"

Harry threw the vial in the cabinet.

What if he mistakenly emptied the vial? God knew what Black had concocted to fool around with Uncle Vernon!

Shaking his head, Harry threw Hagrid's rock cake into the cabinet, too.

He would soak it in warm water before eating it.

Then, shooing Hedwig to not make any noise, Harry cut the cake.

Suddenly, he remembered that exactly one year ago, when Hagrid had come for him, he had thought that was the best birthday.

Now, as Harry looked at all the letters, and even with the darker times looming overhead, he felt this birthday wasn't all that bad, either.

Harry had grossly underestimated the tone of these darker times.

Unknown to Harry Potter, but known to Kai, there was a third side to this cold night.

In a grim, graveyard located outside the village of Little Hangleton, a hooded figure took shape, almost melting with the gray mist that had come out of nowhere.

The figure took out a wand and pressed it on his left arm.

Suddenly, a massive skull and serpent mark appeared in the sky, distorting the cloud.

With the appearance of this mark, several masked figures apparated around the hooded figure.

Why now?

Why, after all that had already happened?

"Welcome—" Lord Voldemort hissed under the hood. "—my loyal servants."

A chill ran down the Death Eaters' spines.

"My—my— my lord," they said, stuttering.

"My—my—my…" the Dark Lord repeated sarcastically. "My—what? You tell me, Crabbe, Avery, Macnair. I say, tell me!"

Magical sparks exploded from Voldemort's wand, and all Death Eaters fell to their knees.

Crack!

A new, hooded figure then apparated next to the Dark Lord.

However, unlike him, the newly arrived figure took off its hood, showing the rotten face underneath right away.

"Ah—" Lord Voldemort smiled. "— Everyone, welcome my friend… Lord Ekrizdis."

Ekrizdis grinned, maggots crawling in and out of his mouth.

The Death Eaters' souls gave out.

-Are these… servants you spoke of, Lord Voldemort?- The Lord of Azkaban hissed, eying everyone.

-Roaches,- The Dark Lord hissed back. -Look how they grovel before me.-

"We need… something from Hogwarts," Lord Ekrizdis said, reeking of death. "Something… precious."

From Hogwarts?!

Did these two madmen want them to die?!!

These days, Hogwarts was the new Azkaban.

Not in the way Azkaban held prisoners, but in the way that the prison was known for its security.

There were dozens, if not hundreds, of Aurors who patrolled the School's grounds daily. Then there were magical creatures that the Ministry had employed to assist the wizards.

If that wasn't enough, then everyone had heard some strange rumors regarding Dumbledore these days.

Hogwarts wasn't just a school anymore.

It was an impenetrable fortress!

"Dumbledore is a fool!" Lord Voldemort hissed, snapping at their thoughts. "And Hogwarts is no fortress!"

"If not from… outside," Ekrizdis said, grinning, "then let it be from… inside…"

Huh?!

"Lucius…"

Lucius Malfoy had been keeping quiet so that the Dark Lord wouldn't ask something of him.

So when he heard Voldemort's hiss right on top of his head, even his bent knees gave out.

He looked up, shaking. "My—my lord…"

"My—my lord…" Voldemort again mimicked the quiver.

With a flick of his hand, the wand tore off Lucius' mask in a silvery dust.

"Where's the diary?" the Dark Lord asked.

"The… the diary, my lord?"

Lord Voldemort put the wand under Lucius' chin and pulled him up.

Lucius suddenly noticed Voldemort's feet, under the robes, were pointed backward.

"…" What kept Lucius from letting out a scream and just disapparating, he would never know.

"The Diary, Lucius," Voldemort hissed in Lucius' ear. "The Diary…"

Lucius gulped. "I… I have it, my lord. I have it."

"Then use it." Lord Ekrizdis' voice appeared in Lucius' other ear like a ghost kissing him.

Lucius Malfoy, pinned by evil on one side and death on the other, could do nothing but nod.

"Go, then," Lord Voldemort said, pulling back. "Go. Open the Chamber of Secrets!"

"Ha-ha!" Lord Ekrizdis laughed. "Let the beast… out. Let my child …

"… slither in Hogwarts' veins again."
