Chapter 13: Pisces power
"Thud."
A big tree collapsed, splintering beneath the pressure of Dimitri and the Leviathan's continued conflict. The once-serene woodland had become a wasteland, devastated by the gigantic sea serpent. Despite his tireless efforts and magical knowledge, Dimitri had failed to land a single shot or tame the beast.
"Roar..."
With a thunderous roar, the Leviathan unleashed a fierce windstorm that ripped through the trees, strewing branches and leaves like paper. Dimitri fell on one knee, trying to protect himself from the force of the blow.
But the Leviathan was clever, with quick movements and a natural resistance to traditional magic, making it an almost impossible fight. Its rage, stoked by Dimitri's disturbance of its relaxation, grew fiercer with every moment.
"Thud!"
The Leviathan's gigantic tail swung down with deadly power, barely missing Dimitri as he slid out of the path. The crash sent vibrations across the ground, causing the earth underneath him to shake.
Dimitri stood up, his breath heavy, and looked at the beast cautiously. Black smoke billowed from the Leviathan's nostrils, and their gazes met in a tight stare. The rage in the creature's glowing eyes was unmistakable—it was furious, its sanctuary violated.
The Leviathan abruptly stopped and parted its massive jaws. Dimitri saw something strange, a whirling ball of water developing with amazing speed, and his keen eyes narrowed.
The air surrounding him became frigid, and a biting chill crept over the woodland. The wind began to roar, spinning faster and faster as the Leviathan summoned a brewing storm.
Dimitri's heart was racing. He was aware of the hazard. The Leviathan was directing an unmatched power that could destroy anything in its path.
He cursed quietly, aware of his limits. Dimitri, who was from the Celestoria world, was powerful because of the Zodiac Stones, although he was only proficient in the three signs of Taurus, Gemini, and Capricorn. Sadly, it was insufficient against the Leviathan.
Dimitri gripped his magic blade tighter as the storm grew worse.
The qualities of Pisces and Aquarius powers, which are essential for taming a monster like Leviathan, were still unknown to Dimitri. Without its impact, the effort seems impassable.
He took a step back, trying to think of a plan. However, the Leviathan released its full strength before he could take any action. Dimitri felt himself abruptly falling into the sea as the energy struck like a tidal wave. He was pulled farther into the abyss by the unbreakable magical tie that surrounded him.
His eyes grew wide with panic as he thrashed his arms and legs, trying in vain to swim to the surface.
The pull was relentless.
He saw a black thing approaching from a distance, a hideous form slicing through the sea. His terror worsened, and in desperation, he breathed deeply, causing water to overpower his lungs. He was unable to breathe.
Then, through the stifling nothingness, he noticed it—a bright light above him and someone calling his name. Dimitri held out his hand toward the light with all the strength he had left.
A silence for a minute
"Splash!"
He gripped Sadi's hand in his own. Sadi grabbed him tightly and yanked him away.
Dimitri gasped as he was hauled to dry ground, coughing and spewing water. His drenched form struggled as reality set in. He had been stuck in an illusion caused by the Leviathan and failed to set himself free on his own.
Sadi stood beside him, sword in hand, and his look was sharp.
"What are you doing?" he said in a worried yet irritated tone.
"Where has your mind gone?"
Dimitri stumbled to his feet while still coughing, his gaze fixed on Sadi.
"Why are you here?" he shot back. "This is not your fight."
Sadi let out a long sigh and gripped his blade more tightly.
"So, do you want me to abandon you to die?"
Dimitri rubbed his forehead and tried to catch his breath.
"I am your opponent. I wouldn't be surprised if you did."
Sadi opened his mouth to respond, but Dimitri interrupted. "Run from here if you wish to save your life," Dimitri urged firmly. "Since you saved my life, I'll give you some advice in return—this fight isn't for you."
The Leviathan roared once again in front of them, its rage trembling the ground beneath their feet.
Without waiting for Sadi's answer, Dimitri sprang up onto a nearby tree limb. He turned around and looked directly into Sadi's stern eyes.
"Leviathan is the most difficult beast to tame," he said. "So do yourself a favor—run and save your life."
Dimitri then sprang away, disappearing into the thick jungle, leaving Sadi alone with the vicious beast.
"Roar…"
As the Leviathan ascended higher, its enormous body growing even more menacing, its shrill scream echoed across the atmosphere.
Unfazed by the creature's size, Sadi turned to confront it directly. A sneer formed on his lips as he whispered, "It'll be interesting to see if my power is enough to tame you."
The Leviathan narrowed its golden eyes and bellowed once again, opening its enormous jaws as though it understood him.
Sadi took a long breath to calm his feelings and focus his thoughts. He closed his eyes and focused on the core of his inner power—Pisces' cultivation.
Behind his head a bright aquamarine light started to grow, a luminous circle that glowed like the ocean's surface.
His deep connection to water and its secrets was mirrored in his aura. Mastery over aquatic energies was portrayed by the sign of Pisces, which included the capacity to connect with underwater creatures, emit soothing energy waves to defeat rivals, and replenish enormous amounts of friends' energy during prolonged battle.
As the aquamarine light swirled around him, it was evident that Sadi had mastered the strength of Pisces. With his calm yet determined presence, he stepped forward, his strength radiating an at-ease but commanding force. Sadi started to reach out through this connection, not just to battle the Leviathan but also to comprehend it.
"Swoosh."
Leviathan's tremendous roar rang across the air, shaking the water itself.
"HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH A THING? I AM THE ANCIENT PROTECTOR OF THE OCEAN, AND YOU DARE SAY YOU CAN TAME ME?"
Sadi was surrounded by a strong wind, but he stayed silent and kept his eyes shut. "It would be better if you paid attention to me and acknowledged me as your master," he stated calmly.
"MIND YOUR TONGUE, YOU AWFUL HUMAN CHILD!" Leviathan roared; its voice full of disdain.
"A LOWLY, POWERLESS CREATURE LIKE YOU DARES TO DREAM OF TAMING ME? LET ME SHOW YOU MY WRATH."
Leviathan snarled fiercely and sprang at Sadi, its enormous teeth agape, ready to devour him.
Sadi opened his eyes, unleashing the might of Pisces just as Leviathan arrived. A shimmering water dome appeared around him, shining with aquamarine light. The dome absorbed Leviathan's devastating blow, suppressing its strength. The monster flinched, temporarily jarred, its enormous body out of balance inside its own surroundings.
Leviathan roared again, causing a storm.
Storms raged, waves smashed, yet Leviathan's control over the water was eroding. Sadi's command of Pisces had already started to take charge and shattered the equilibrium of the domain. The storms grew weaker; they lost their intensity.
Despite the turmoil, Sadi carefully ascended a small slope that appeared to be covered with water.
He sat cross-legged, closed his eyes again, and went into a meditative posture. He had one goal in mind: to make the waterways around Leviathan cleaner.
The beast swam in circles, its golden eyes narrowing as it observed the human. Its rage faltered, giving way to a glimmer of doubt. The water surrounding its lair started to clear and glitter, a dazzling purity permeating the entire area. Leviathan paused in mid-motion, stunned at the sight.
Its territory had been poisoned by a wicked curse for centuries, which had fed its wrath.
But now the curse was loosening, its contaminated grasp slipping away as Sadi's power cleaned the water.
Leviathan paused, possessed with something strange now rather than anger—respect when it is acknowledged; Sadi was not an ordinary individual; rather, he possessed a mythical power.
