Chapter 24: Chapter 24
When Hania struggled to get up from bed, she felt her legs going wobbly. Before she could take a few more steps, the door was pushed open.
A servant came in with a basin of water and the moment she saw Hania getting out of bed, there was horror and anxiety in her eyes. She quickly walked to her and said, "You can't get out of bed now. You are still very weak. Mr. Miller told you to lie down on the bed and have a good rest. You can't get out of bed, not even one step..."
"But, I'm much better now and I don't think I need to rest anymore. I want to go to work now." Hania explained patiently.
However, to Hania's surprise, the servant suddenly knelt on the ground, with a pleading look in her eyes. "Miss Bishop, please don't make things difficult for me... Mr. Miller and the supervisor have told us that if we don't take good care of you during the day, we'll have to bear the consequences. Please be rest assured that the butler has asked me to tell you that he has contacted your company and helped to apply for leave on your behalf."
Panicked, Hania hurriedly helped the servant up. "Get up quickly. Please don't kneel. I won't get out of bed!"
With her eyes already swollen, the servant stood up and looked at Hania eagerly.
Left with no choice, Hania obeyed as she was helped to get onto the bed again.
The servant looked at Hania diligently and asked, "Miss Bishop, do you want to wash up now? After washing up, I can serve you breakfast. Your breakfast is specially arranged as advised by the nutritionist, so that you will recover soon."
Hania did not want to make it difficult for the servants, so she nodded with a smile.
She would not make things difficult for them because she knew they were just following orders. The person who was truly domineering was David!
After Hania had done the washing up, she proceeded to have breakfast. In the meantime, she could not help but ask the smiling servant that stood by her. "Excuse me, but... do you know what happened to me yesterday?"
Hearing that, the servant said respectfully, "I know that the doctor was called to treat you at night. All of the servants didn't sleep and were on call. Mr. Miller stayed in the room to take care of you. As for the rest of the matter, I'm not too sure, because I was waiting for orders on the first floor."
Surprised, Hania thought to herself, "What... That man took care of me?"
He was so overbearing and perverted, not to mention arrogant and cold, yet he actually took care of her?
Hania felt that it was not even possible. She vaguely guessed that the servant had purposely beautified him in this way so to please him.
"Okay, I... I get it, thank you," she said. After the servant left, Hania was left confused.
The scene of the blind date last night was too chaotic. Perhaps her mother had already known that she had escaped.
As a bitter curve appeared at the corner of Hania's mouth, Mom must be very angry.
And now... she was prepared for the worst.
Last night, her heart had turned completely cold. The so-called... debts were also repaid in her heart. But she still worked hard to earn more money and sent them back to the family. Even if she knew that the family did not lack any money, she felt that this was her responsibility.
Hania wiped the tears away with her finger and tried to suppress her emotions as she comforted herself. It doesn't matter. Don't cry. Everything will pass.
In the Bishop family.
Vanessa was furious. She threw the teacup on the floor and glared at Rosie who had just returned. "That girl was taken away yesterday? So the blind date had failed?"
